  1. Got it to work earlier on today.

Added my stand alone install as a non-steam game, and straight away it popped up as play in VR.

Uninstalled my steam copy and everything is still the same. Works perfectly, now just to get it set up properly for the vive and my nvidia 1070.

    Thx for the response.

  2. Need some help please.

So I have DCS installed stand alone. I cannot get my vive to be switched on by DCS, ticked the VR box in settings etc. Tried it with Steam VR running, not running, steam on it's own.

So I then downloaded DCS via steam into another drive, and it started straight away with the play in VR button.

The issue is that I have quite a few modules in my stand alone that I don't have in steam, that I want to fly and I can't add them to steam anymore.

Tried the theatre option under properties when it wasn't installed via steam and it was greyed out.

Any ideas to get it running outside steam?

    thanks

  3. I have absolutely no judder at all now.

    I5 2500K @ 4.4, brand new Nvidia 970 G1 @ 1500/1800 (core/mem).

Resolution is set at 1440 using DSR within the Nvidia control panel.

Within DCS I have everything at high except water which is low. Trees are down at 2000mtrs, shadows are 50, preload is 40,000.

I have my rift set as extended to my main monitor which is a 120Hz monitor. All I have to do now, is open up a mission and it swaps from my main screen to the rift automatically. To close the mission down, I come back to my main monitor and right click close the dcs icon on the task bar, and it auto swaps back to the main options on my main monitor.

TBH, I never thought it would work this well, only weird thing is IO have to press pause twice to be able to take control while using the rift.

  4. Yeah mate...

The OR does actually work, I can move my head around etc and it tracks no problem at all, the view from 5000 feet inside an A10 is amazing, just no movement at all :(

The funny thing is, if I view a AI pilot, it all works well on the OR. I can swap cameras etc.

    Got it working..

For some strange reason I now have to press pause twice before it allows me full control..

Man I love flying the huey through the city at Batumi.. Now all we need is a virtual aerobatics display with everyone using the OR flying the hawk :)

  5. Despite pressing pause/break key?

  6. Some advice from anyone if possible please.

Got myself a new Nvidia 970 G1, runs DCS exceptionally well. Now when I put my DK2 on with the 4.2(?) runtime, the oculus is detected, I can load a mission up and it auto switches to my oculus when the mission loads.

The only problem I have is when I go to hit fly, nothing happens, everything is static. No response to joystick movement etc. Tried an editor mission starting in the air and I get the same response. I can hit escape and go back to the mission editor no problem.

Using Nvidia latest drivers as well.

Oh and for some unknown reason I cannot update via the updater, so looks like a full install is needed :( .. I would love to get the OR thing fixed before I went down that route.

    Cheers

  7. The G and S flight models ought to be quite similar to the UH-1H, with the G being a comparatively easy model to build since the power train and rotor system are virtually identical, the reflex sight up front is almost the same, and the weapons loads are very similar as well. The Whiskey flies a good deal like a November model Huey, and my impression of the UH-1H from the game is that it's flight model is quite like that of the UH-1N. Therefore, it would seem to follow that tweaking the UH-1H flight model to that of a Whiskey ought to be a reasonable task.

As others have mentioned, the difficulty with the AH-1S and AH-1W compared to an AH-1G is the increased amount of avionics/weapons controls. As for those who like the Z, the AH-1W is just as capable as the current iteration of the AH-1Z (more capable in some respects), and having flown both (1100 hours in the W, 300 in the Zulu), I much prefer the AH-1W. The AH-1W carries a wider variety of ordnance than any other attack helicopter (try loading Sidewinders , TOW, or 5" rockets on an Apache...), so there is a lot of potential there. Plus, on the Whiskey you don't have to scroll through a bunch of MFD pages to access information, it's all right in front of you. Steam gauges have their advantages, you know....

Hire this man now !! :)

You make the W version sound so sweet, now wondering if I can change my vote :helpsmilie:

  8. I've said it many times before, we won't kickstart any of our projects, all self funded by me.

Not that I don't support kickstarter, to the contrary as my Star Citizen account can testify too lol

    Just a thought Ells...

You'll have my money day 1 anyway :)

    GR4 cough cough GR4 :music_whistling:

  9. Hi All

I am looking for some TrackIR profiles to use.

For some reason I can never get my trackir to zoom in the way I see everyone else using it on youtube etc.

I have every module available, and fly most of them on a reg basis, but would especially like them for the Sabre, A10, KA50, Huey and FC3.

I know it is a lot to ask, but this community gives so much..

    Thanks

  10. You know, I have never even seen that option before, great find mate :)

As Ivan has stated, I just pointed the install directory to my steam/dcs install folder as below. It asked for a directory folder for the programme list which I called DCS and that was it.

    Path I used was.

    U:\Steam\SteamApps\common\DCSWorld

As long as it is your main DCS root folder it will work.. :)

    Thanks again Ivan.

    EDIT

Ivan, is there any training missions for the F86 in your install, or does it not come with any?

  11. 1.) Purchase a module from the ED Store

2.) Download the Module's installer from the ED Store

3.) Make sure DCS is up-to-date with whatever silly beta version from Steam

4.) Once you're at the right V#, install your module into the DCSW main directory on Steam

5.) Once installed, navigate to that Aircraft's "Bin" folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\DCSWorld\Mods\aircrafts\F-86\bin for the Sabre as an example.)

6.) Run aircraftname_protect.exe as an administrator.

7.) Select "Activate or Deactivate" a product.

    8.) Insert key and activate

9.) Play the game you paid for, how you wanted to.

    Easy-peasy.

Sidenote: With every update to DCS, you'll have to repeat the process for each aircraft you've purchased off the store. Sucks, but worth it IMO to just never touch DCS's slow updater.

Worked first time mate, thank you very much.

Only thing is, will the activation limit not be reached for the module very quickly this way?

  12. Guys

I would recommend if yu have an AMD card, raptr for recording or if you have a Nvidia card use Shadowplay. Both of them are proprietary pieces of software from each company respectfully .

Both of them can record constantly with virtually no overhead what so ever, they can also do replay recordings and obviously take screenshots.

I know raptr can also link to your youtube account to upload your videos. Great pieces of software which I would recommend.

  13. I said to myself I was never going to be a Day 1 buyer again, but please just take my money for this!

Looks amazing, and cannot wait for it. Just wonder how long before a new Red Arrows skin is out, and how many of them :)

  14. Everyone just stop :)

heliopilot I think you are flying the wrong version of the A10. The latest updated version of the A10A which is in flying cliffs 3, does not and never will have a clickable cockpit. What it does have is an advanced FM with full 6dof.

If you are looking for the clickable cockpit, all singing, all dancing version then you need to buy the separate A-10C module that integrates into DCS World.

If it is the A10A you wanted originally, what bugs are you experiencing as I haven't found any!

  15. I was having the exact same problem with mission one. Seems I was doing it wrong!

I would "LOCK" onto a tank and it would lock a building, bridge etc. I then realised I could still slew my target designator after "LOCKING", I would slew it onto a tank and it would lock first time.

When you press lock while in AGM mode, it is basically turning on ground stabilising so that the crosshair does not move around in coordination with the A10 movement.

Someone with more knowledge than me can correct that part if it is wrong.

  16. As the title says, for some reason I cannot slow down when I have landed the F15, my landing speed is good, usually between 180 - 200, flaps down and I usually have to have the airbrake on to get me to that speed! Throttle is all the way down as well.

I have my Saitek pedals toe push as the brakes for left and right wheels, makes no difference, pressing W for wheel brake makes no difference as well.

My throttle controller is the throttle part from an X52, I have a MS Sidewinder FF joystick and my pedals are Saitek Cessna Pro..

Any advice would be really appreciated.

    Thanks
