  1. The automatic mapping only works for the Warthog, when you run in direct mode. This should work even after an update.

However, if you mapped the Warthog with key-combinations, then your input files probably got damaged.

So far, I only once had to remap everything. Usually after a reset I can still reload my previously saved input-file from the ingame menu.

  2. It would be nice, if vehicle had another checkbox; [ ] MANPAD. So that, little MANPAD soldier would pop up near vehicle the moment it takes defensive position. Of course, that little soldier should get back into vehicle, once vehicle decides to return to formation.

The idea is great, but not every truck or jeep has a stinger ready to fire. It would be nice to have that option, though. Maybe just in form of checkboxes: AA-Infantry, AT-Infantry, Standard Infantry.

With the option of marking multiple types, you can simulate special forces or teams equipped with both.

  3. What was happening in the korean video and why were there M16s in the kitchen?

    Rice Cakes.

You boil them in hot oil.

Once in the oil, the outside immediately gets sealed. If you keep them in the hot oil without puncturing them, the inside keeps boiling and building up pressure. He probably used to hot oil and/or forgot to puncture the cakes.

When they started to popp, he just should have left them until they cooled down.

  4. I agree on the dedicated servers.

But the netcode is very playable - not perfect! - but playable.

    Same is for the bugs.

    And Balance of Sides?

You must be talking about LockOn. LockOn was a Head-To-Head gameset. DCS never was: Neither the A-10C nor the KA-50 were designed for air-to-air-combat. So it would make at least 2 other modules to give yourself an opponent.

DCS is about teamworking against the environment. I bet this was also a major reason to start another US-fighter. And yet, with CA you still have the opportunity to play against each other. ;)

IMHO an online-logbook, stats & trackers would be a much more interesting start than a set of 2 fighters. And it could even eliminate the teamkiller-issue.

  5. A bit late to be asking these questions... multiplayer environment of the series has been decaying for years...

    True.

Official servers would be nice. :)

On the refreshed debate: I can very well understand both sides.

There are many reasons to lock a server for training or having fun with some friends. And there are many reasons for opening a server for newcomers and non-squadron-players.

What I don't understand and what this doesn't explain:

Why do there have to be 10-15 EMPTY and LOCKED servers all the time? Some of them running for DAYS on the same mission.

And while we're at it: Why do 4-6 open servers all run the same mission? :D

  6. I live in Paris, i hate my mayor for building all this unused bus lanes, creating insane trafic jams never happenned prior to this, but otherwise, I love seasons, temperature during all year (-10°C to +30°C)

    I love my grass

    I love the fact i'm 3h car's speed next 4 others languages

I'm sad the concord doesn't fly anymore because of boeing dropping metal pieces on the strip

And i don't hate others europeans countries :)

But living in a desert with artificial growed grass, no thanks.

No offense sirs, you got some things, but, living all year... mhhh

    You underestimate the area.

It's not just desert. There's some great geological formations, like the Valley of Fire, for example. And it's so fantastic to drive 2 h through the desert, then over a small slope and BAM! Las Vegas! Spectacular sight - especially at night.

  7. Living here in Nevada I can tell you a simulation/map of our terrain will be even more boring than living here LOL

The place you're living at is always the most boring place, compared to any other place in the world. No matter how ultra-boring that may be.

I've been to Nevada and I still love it and I can't wait for the Nevada-Map, buzzing down "The Strip" and watching the scenery.

But I do understand that this is not a map like for BF3 or any of those shooters. So it may take longer, but the result will be awesome.

  8. I kept hoping that CLoD would deliver eventually...it never did.

Even with the latest beta patch is still a huge mess. To top it off, they devs finally said yeah, it is horrible, but we cant make money off it, so if you want fixes, you have to buy our sequel.

No thanks. Id rather wait for DCS to make something, that actually works, or play modded IL2, than fork more money over to 1C that has not yet completed the game that was released over a year ago.

    Same here.

Bought 2 CloD-copies and all they do is collecting virtual dust on my HDD. No official patch for 18 months and spare me with those beta-patches...

At least they will release a new patch in the next weeks (or months). Then we only have to wait another year or two for the pay-for-patch - oh, I meant "sequel".

Which reminds me to a quote "Next will be a new theater of war never done before." - Yeah, sure. Russian front. Again. Yay!

I'll rather keep my money ready for a Bf109 or a FW190 in DCS than wasting even more money on them.

  9. You realized the paper is an ANALYSIS, not even a proposal for a law?

Politicians don't forbid much in general. They just spend 99% of the working time, we pay them for, to get even more money from us. This is just another approach to get the money.
