  1. I have the same problem. I get the problem at random. I get the view locked forward and a little upwards. I suspect it's a conflict involving the Saitek programming software, but not sure. I can't Alt-Tab and exit to menu when this happen. I will try continue troubleshooting later today..

    UAV

When playing CA, can more than one unit be controlled? If so it get little more interesting. Keeping the infantry in front and use the drone to bomb or direct artillery fire or simply get an idea of the battlefield and identify targets. Not sure how I would drive a truck and fly the drone at the same time though :joystick: :pilotfly: Cool that some of you like the idea.

Thanks. I think it could be cool. Maybe have the cockpit in one like this, able to move.

Anyone gave this a thought? An UAV module, sitting at the base flying surveillance or attack with hellfire missiles. It is tons of different UAV's out there. Ghosts in the sky. I know there is in the DCS, but it's only AI. Maybe it's a stupid idea, I don't know.
  5. My wishes: 1. Door gun shaking when firing. 2. Possibility to add external fuel tanks. 3. Active AI crew (firing when allowed to and warning when seeing a threat). 4. When co-pilot gun sight is lowered he should hold his hand on the sight grip instead of the stick. 5. Be able to choose Minigun in the side door positions. Just wishes, no dire need as I am still learning and I think it's great fun and challenge to fly and operate. And it would be awesome to have different mission types, like medevac, SAR, transporting stuff in a sling load and soldier drop off into hotzones.
  6. Sure, it's a bit trial and error. I know it's not to many functions like the A-10C and Black Shark, but it's enuff for me to try and sort them into the different modes so the setup is easier to get used to. I like it when my hands work naturally quick without the need to think about which button do what. I share my setup when I have a working one.
  7. Me too. In the meanwhile I try to make my own. My biggest issue is how is the best way to sort the different functions into the 3 modes including the pinkie button. I have an X-52 pro... Any ideas?
  8. Bad AI or not, as a multiplayer gunship the idea sounds very tempting in my opinion. Are the issue non existing AI or just bad AI? RoF AI is not too good, but now there is commands. The AI gunner don't do anything unless I give orders to do so. Same as to how it is executed, for example shooting at air or ground targets and at short, medium or long range. Same goes to wingmen in singleplayer. Not too good but good enough. Are the implementation of AI in coorparation with human player different than all the other AI flying around or operaiting on the ground? The wingmen AI in DCS I haven't figured out completely yet. Aside from them being a bit more suicidal than I would like them to, it seems to work. (please shoot if I'm missing something) As for the Hind, I was silly enough to buy TOH with the Hind DLC. I was not too impressed. If the Hind wasn't there I wouldn't bought TOH. Thanks for replying guys. Good to know others opinion.
  9. That was my thought too. Headlights, reduced or not reduced, in pitch blackness must be there. They have to see the road and at the same time, as you pointed out, the cities are well lit up. I would think it would be most common to stay home at night, but also for the civilians out driving it would be most common to have some kind of lights. Thanks for all reply guys :)
  10. Yes, much more complex than RoF, and still the RoF AI is not perfect. Then I can imagine how much more work it have to be in DCS.
  11. Ok, so civ traffic is different implemented than military ground traffic?
  12. I can understand that. It's a few discussions about AI in RoF as well, it's for sure not perfect and the AIs actions not always make the skipper too happy, but it's an ongoing WIP. I guess it's a time consuming deal to make something like that work good enough. A small amount of hope is flowing though.
  13. Hi, I don't see too much of the topic about aircraft with more than one seat. I play Rise of Flight sometimes and there it's possible to team up in multiplayer, up to four players in one aircraft, but mostly two seats (pilot, gunner). I can't really put my idea away about how it would be in DCS, and one of my favorites always comes to mind: The legendary Mi-24 Hind. IMO it's the coolest looking and most awesome combat helicopter ever. I don't know what, but something exciting about it is certainly there. Multiplayer in a Hind with pilot and gunner sound tempting. I guess it's a silly idea, but I just want to let the air out and sorry if this has been discussed before. Thanks :)
  14. Hi, I look in the forum and try searching but came up empty.. I just noticed something when doing a night mission, that with or without NVG, the civilian road traffic don't have any headlights. I'm talking completely black. No big deal, just something I discovered by chance . It don't ruin my playtime or anything. I would think that even in war areas, the civilians have to see where they go. My guess is that it's not very common for a bus-driver to wear NVG at night. Or i missed something. Maybe I'm not "enlightened". Thanks. :)
  15. You mean the pedals from Simkits? I would think they are good quality for that price... The first link was just me dreaming. I going for the TM. Found a store in norway that sell them for 2350 NOK (388 $).
  16. http://www.pro-flight-trainer.ch/en/ This looks tempting though. I'm not that big fan of FF. Sesitive movement is a higher priority for me. It's going to be the TM WH for me first, and maybe later a collective stick. And I have been looking at this pedals I'm thinking about going to get when possible. Exactly the kind I look for. Foot moving only, not the legs and knees. http://www.simkits.com/product.php?prodid=313 So now it's time to get buzzy building a casing for the stick when extended. :) Thanks for all good input guys.
  17. PeterP: thanks for the links and for your opinions. Very helpful! DarkEagle: You're right, the TM stick does move. That makes it much more interesting :) I don't know where I got that idea from. (I have a nasty tendency to tell myself funny stories I never heard before, maybe a link there) Reading at the Saitek website the X65F is force sensing. (-1) Anyway, good news about the warthog though. I've been looking at pedals and found heli-pedals with foot-moving only, not the legs, witch I found very interesting. Well, this is still a future investment, but nice to trawl the market ahed before buying something expensive as this. I'm definitively more close to the TM warthog now. :) The two sim I play are DCS and RoF. Two brilliant sims in their own way. I'm not on weapons yet in BS2 as controlling the aircraft are still a challenge. I learned a full C&D startup and now practice flying, TO, landings and hover only. Yes, this is my first writing here and thanks for the warm welcome. Keep the blades flapping :)
  18. Hi, I'm looking around for a new stick and both TM warthog and Saitek X65 are tempting. I tried my friends Logitech G940 system and it didn't go well for me. Personally I just didn't like it too much. But my skepticism about the other two mentioned are the force sensing, the stick itself don't move but react to my applied force input. I do have the money to buy one but it's too expensive to just take a chance and hope it's ok. And I was hoping if there was an opportunity to, example, buy the Saitek twin throttle and another stick that do move. Any ideas? I will mostly use for BS2 and heli sims. Thanks
  19. Yes I have it installed and activated, but it's not in DCS: World for some reason.
  20. I looked for this subject on forum, but could't get any clear idea of the answer. As the title say, I have Black Shark 1 on disc. Can I download the upgrade version of Black Shark 2 or do I have to get the full version? BTW, DCS sims are one of my two top computergames I play. I love it though I'm still learning. :)
