    It's like all hardware decisions really, depends on your attitude to cash vs performance vs timing. Especially now, I think the end of year is optimistic for the 3080s release, and even longer to get supplies out there if the 2080Ti situation is anything to go by.

     

    So, you have still got the best part of a year to enjoy a significant 15-20% improvement for a few hundred pounds. All very much a personal decision, of course. There is no right and wrong, but I always go for the performance option every time!

     

    I am going to wait for the next series of cards, even though I have the money to upgrade my 1080 now, would love to get an upgrade but I will be glad I held off when the next series is released.

    I just want to reiterate that this mod is absolutely beast. There’s is no comparison between this and the cheap “ball nib” that comes with the warthog throttle. Installation takes 10 minutes and that’s first time taking the steps slow. You owe yourself this upgrade. Yes there is a long wait time but that’s because there’s a long list of orders all managed and organised by one individual. 100% satisfied and will buy more mods like this when available.

    Same here. I'm not impressed. The instruments on the dashboard look like they were painted on. Everything looks low quality textures and way too clean. It looks like a cartoon. It doesn't look like anything in the new helicopter pack video.

     

     

    Where's this? (dials at 17 seconds). They just look painted on in my game.

     

     

     

     

    I'm flying Caucuses map, so is it lighting / shadows?

     

     

     

    I’m confused it doesn’t look like the promo shots. The switches are blocky and not smooth in comparison to the perfectly rounded a10 switches. I’m just pointing out that a high visual fidelity was expected especially because of the BS 3 upgrade.

    Wow, the AP lighting is the same? I just tried the cockpit and the switches in the A10 and overall resolution is way higher, are we going to see higher resolution textures and is this going to be updated? It is a massive disappointment, I was going to buy the BS 3 based on the quality of this update and the lighting hasn't been fixed. I bought BS1, then the upgrade and BS2.

    2804 HAS LANDED!!!

     

    Just a note here...

     

    I placed my order mid-late last year and it showed as shipped in Jan 9, 2020. After several weeks of it not arriving, I contacted Damien to verify with him that it had shipped. He quickly responded with a couple suggestions such as check with neighbors, local post office, etc and to let him know if it did not arrive by the weekend, which it did not.

     

     

    Damien graciously and immediately sent out a replacement unit with the tracking number. It arrived in 6 days from time of shipping.

     

     

    That right there, is CUSTOMER SERVICE!

     

    ETA: About 5-10 mins to install... and thats being very careful!

    Thank you again Damien for working on this with me. You need to develop some more products so I can spend more money with you sir!

     

     

     

    Got my mod today and installed it and it’s such a joy to fly the modules with a proper slew, the harrier in particular.

     

    The 4 way thumb switch on the throttle could do with a higher quality component that has a “click” to it, so that’s my suggestion for your next release

     

    Brilliant piece of kit and took 10 minutes to install and I’m not into taking things apart. Brilliant contribution

    It's amazing but need to be tweaked. However I don't understand why many people don't seem to see the difference in the daytime.

     

     

     

    The daytime looks allot smoother to me, there seems to be some sort of blending applied, it looks allot better and not as disjointed.

    Just updated the game. I have no idea what OP is seeing. The new lighting is pure bad. It makes no sense. The night time is the worst in general with super bright panels and objects.

     

    Very specific time of day looks somewhat good but overall this is a pure downgrade with exaggerated HDR and bloom.

     

    If this was an attempt to copy the new Flight Sim game shaders, it looks like a knock off version of it.

     

     

    Especially the cockpits of ED's own modules look very plasticky now.

     

     

     

    I’m seeing lights on runways and lights in towns at distance, I’m finally able to fly at night! Yes it requires refinement but overall it’s a brilliant first step and shows great potential. I’m also not seeing a performance hit with all the objects like buildings, roads and towers.

    Absolutely. Now making in cockpit adjustments to the lighting has an effect and definitely it adds to the immersion and sense of actually being in an aircraft at night. This is a good step forward for ED and it is still early days.

     

     

     

    The build is certainly bugged but those bugs will get ironed out all while we prepare for the new shark pit which has me super excited.

    IMHO : bull***

     

     

    the nighti is perfect now!

     

    With the new lighting engine you have to dial in your cockpit lighting (which actually makes sense!) and you have to dial in your night vision (which makes sesne too). Before you would just increase brightness and it wouldn't make much of a difference where now you can be too bright or too dark which is immersive for one and add another layer of detail. The lights at night were so dull previously that there was no point flying at night where for the first time in what seems like years I am having allot fun playing at night time.

    Where it reads: DEFAULT. It’s an odd way of doing it because you expect a new dialogue box when, actually, the entire weather page is a dialogue box already.

     

     

     

    Tried this, you can rename it and click save but the saved template doesn’t appear when you go to load it? Any advice?

    New Clouds Discussion

    I’m surprised the cloud/weather feature is still not there yet. The immersion and realism proper weather adds is so important. It would be great when ED release the update that we can preview weather templates in some way, also, that there is lots of weather templates. Currently you can’t save your weather settings, even though there is a save button there, so even when you find a great setting you need to take a screenshot on your phone and dial it all in again! This is inconvenient. It would be nice to have a ton of preset weather templates with previews but I guess the night lighting has to be correct before they commit to weather settlings. At the end of the day the weather is as important as the cockpit detail and it’s taking a long time to see any progress.
