    Not sure what more people need, there is DCS P51 to go try, if you like that and want more with a map included, then pledge :)

     

    How is P-51 related to RRG exactly? I am super confused about this kickstarter. Correct me if I am wrong, but it took at least one year to create the P-51D alone? And now by the September 2014 RRG will create 3-4 more planes at the same level? It just doesn't add up.

    I Agree! I don’t want to offend any FC3 fans in any way. The other day I listened to podcast where WAGS was interviewed talking about DCS world. I think he and the entire team is a group of highly skilled professionals. It’s a waste for them to continue work on FC series. Not profitable for the company they should do what they do the best high fidelity slim aircrafts leave causal gamers with HAWX series. Again it’s only my opinion

    I bet a new DCS fidelity module would have been released by now if not for the FC3 and Combined Arms nonsense..

    I think what might have changed (from initial announced $39.99 price point) is that they have to pay some sort of licensing fee to Bell? Anyway, the extra $10 doesn't really change that much for me, although I wish it was better communicated with the community earlier.

    People are pissed that the launch has been such a disaster thus far. Even more so than Diablo III, it seems!

     

    I agree with what you said, but the sad thing is - they will announce (just like Diablo 3) they sold 10 million copies or so.

    I think I read that the 1.2.4 will be released relatively quickly after the 1.2.3 (together with the Huey). There was also a post where they said the installer for the Huey is already being built and tested. So I think the questions are valid :)

    If I am right, this allows you to replace any existing sounds, but are there any plans to add support for the ability to play completely new sounds (from LUA or from C/C++ DLL)?

    [1.2.2] Piston engine flyables are causing DCS.exe crash

    I am not entirely sure if this would be the right place to report it, but seeing as my issue is related to third-party development - I will give it a shot.

     

    Problem: Since 1.2.2, piston engine human controllable aircraft causes DCS.exe to crash.

     

    To reproduce the issue:

     

    1. Take Wunderluft example and replace the SFM_Data section with the one from P-51D (found at \Scripts\Database\SFM_Data.lua). Alternatively, just change "typeng = 2" (piston) in SFM_Data.

     

    2. Create a mission with Wunderluft as a player-controllable aircraft.

     

    The crash log is very non-informative:

    I ran the update and it got to about 75% and stopped there for more than an hour. I hit cancel and tried again but then it didn't detect an update and simply opened my current 1.2.1. I then tried DCS_updater.exe and it still didn't find an update. Now when I run DCS world exe it goes to the splash screen and then my screen goes black. What do I do now?

     

    Go to the start menu and look for an option "Update DCS World". Run that. If that still does not help with the black screen, you may need to run "Repair DCS World" option from the same start menu.

    Anyone know the size of the download through the auto-updater?

     

    It depends on what modules you have installed and on what version you are right now.

     

    As a reference:

     

    An update from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 for base DCS: World (without modules) is around ~600 MB.

    An update from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 for DCS: World + A-10C is around ~1GB.
