  1. aww, but no fix for broken bf 109 artificial horizon and compass?
  2. I have EVGA 760 GTX and noticed that the card fan is always at 43%.. How do you install bios updates for graphic cards? Softpedia article mentions some sort of bios switch. And why do I need to download bios updates from softpedia and they are not available from official EVGA site?
  3. The Devs are busy flying BoS. Be patient :)

    New X:Rebirth

Reminds me of the X3: Reunion release.. Egosoft is known for buggy releases,. The only games that are playable at release were expansions (X3: TC and X3: AP).
  5. How is P-51 related to RRG exactly? I am super confused about this kickstarter. Correct me if I am wrong, but it took at least one year to create the P-51D alone? And now by the September 2014 RRG will create 3-4 more planes at the same level? It just doesn't add up.
  6. I think the poly count for this pilot is OK, you can see the edges clearly. It's probably a proper use of 3Ds Max smoothing groups that make it look so extremely detailed.
  7. +1 I bet a new DCS fidelity module would have been released by now if not for the FC3 and Combined Arms nonsense..
  8. I think what might have changed (from initial announced $39.99 price point) is that they have to pay some sort of licensing fee to Bell? Anyway, the extra $10 doesn't really change that much for me, although I wish it was better communicated with the community earlier.

    Battlefield 4

Not sure if serious or joking? Medal of Honor reboot was the worst take on the "modern" FPS :(
  10. Technically the 64-bit code can use more CPU registers and theoretically can run faster. So it's not just about the addressable memory space. But I suppose it heavily depends on the compiler and/or any inline asm.
  11. There are alternatives to plain swastika. Leaving that area just blank looks a bit odd.. Something like this would be great:
  12. Just to clarify: right now it ships with both 32-bit and 64-bit binaries, while in the future it's only going to be 64-bit only.
  13. Attached a PDF copy of the newsletter. DCS-Newsletter-20130321.pdf
  14. From the newsletter (Fw-190D9):

    SAGE

I can't believe they are actually proud of (and not embarrassed to show) this.. :) And are they seriously going to compete with this: (or Bohemia's Virtual Reality...).
  16. So.. no one is interested why IRIS subforum was hidden by the mods? I very much doubt it was a misclick.
  17. I agree with what you said, but the sad thing is - they will announce (just like Diablo 3) they sold 10 million copies or so.
  18. Looks like FarmVille.. and has nothing to do with simulation :/
  19. I think I read that the 1.2.4 will be released relatively quickly after the 1.2.3 (together with the Huey). There was also a post where they said the installer for the Huey is already being built and tested. So I think the questions are valid :)
  20. Thanks, If I am right, this allows you to replace any existing sounds, but are there any plans to add support for the ability to play completely new sounds (from LUA or from C/C++ DLL)? p.s. Good use of PhysFS!
  21. I am not entirely sure if this would be the right place to report it, but seeing as my issue is related to third-party development - I will give it a shot. Problem: Since 1.2.2, piston engine human controllable aircraft causes DCS.exe to crash. To reproduce the issue: 1. Take Wunderluft example and replace the SFM_Data section with the one from P-51D (found at \Scripts\Database\SFM_Data.lua). Alternatively, just change "typeng = 2" (piston) in SFM_Data. 2. Create a mission with Wunderluft as a player-controllable aircraft. The crash log is very non-informative: # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 16239E47 00:00000000 00000000 00000000 0000:00000000 16239E47 0090F360 0000:00000000 1623A4AF 0090F3E0 0000:00000000 1617A521 0090F420 0000:00000000 161B12AE 0090F520 0000:00000000 161C4F54 0090F570 0000:00000000 FC078721 0090F600 0000:00000000 FC078BEA 0090F650 0000:00000000 162BF029 0090F6E0 0000:00000000 162C193D 0090F740 0000:00000000 162D9684 0090F770 0000:00000000 162D9579 0090F7D0 0000:00000000 16360498 0090F840 0000:00000000 163618D8 0090FD30 0000:00000000 163642CF 0090FDE0 0000:00000000 0387167E 0090FE10 0000:00000000 BaseThreadInitThunk()+1A 03E43501 0090FE60 0000:00000000 RtlUserThreadStart()+21 This did work fine in 1.2.1.
  22. Go to the start menu and look for an option "Update DCS World". Run that. If that still does not help with the black screen, you may need to run "Repair DCS World" option from the same start menu.
  23. It depends on what modules you have installed and on what version you are right now. As a reference: An update from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 for base DCS: World (without modules) is around ~600 MB. An update from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 for DCS: World + A-10C is around ~1GB.
  24. The update is 633572343 bytes = ~600 MB (that's for DCS: World only, without modules)
