  1. It had me scared but I finally got it to work! I re-installed both the DCS World and the Warthog files from my own archives after uninstalling everything, then tried again to install the Mustang. This time it told me that my DCS World was too old! So I ran it and used the manager to load the Mustang and update it and now everything works great! BTW... I saw ELP live at the California Jam while a student at USC. Three glorious days in the rain and mud!
  2. Sorry about the double message. For some reason it didn't update my first reply even after ten minutes and so I thought it didn't go thru!
  3. Thanx, it's the album cover from this old hippie's favorite Album: ELP Brain Salad Surgery BTW...If I delete everything and then re-install the older version and then install mustang without first starting the world it should install. But then if when I run the world and it asks me to update, should I or not? Seems like it should update and run okay once the Mustang has been added first right?
  4. Thanx...that's the cover of this old hippie's favorite album! <g> BTW, after I re-install DCS World and the Warthog, if I don't run it but just install the Mustang it should install okay, but then when I do run DCS and it prompts me to update, should I let it or not. Cause once the Mustang is installed shouldn't it still work if the world is updated?
  5. I was just thinking...maybe I should simply delete DCS world and the Warthog, then re-install the older version and then install the Mustang?
  6. Thanx I do hope you find it! I can't wait to get my hands on my favorite WWII fighter! Thanx in advance!
  7. Still having trouble! I'm not sure what you guys are talking about! When I go to the downloads page, then to modules, and scroll down to the P-51D, you can click on the title link which says download version or where it says Proceed to download just above the listing for the Black Shark module, but both these links takes me to a download page showing my serial number and this file: P-51D_1.2.5.15865.212_219.exe And this file is the one that won't install!
  8. I downloaded the file: CA_1.2.5.15865.212_219.exe as instructed, but when I tried to install it I was told this version cannot be installed into DCS World because I need to download the newer version: 1.2.5.16184. I had updated DCS World just before buying the Mustang, so I looked everywhere for the newer file to download but cannot find it. Please help!
  9. Thanx guys! I was pretty sure I remembered the Steam keys could be used on the stand-alone version otherwise I would have made note of the other ones in a special encrypted file I keep all my username and password info in!
  10. Hi all! I originally purchased A-10C Warthog thru Steam, but when I started trying to learn this fantastic sim I found I was out of date and then was told to update here. I did so, getting the full DCS world single and multiplayer along with the Su. Then after installing, I found that I had a brand new installation of it all outside of Steam, and not requiring Steam to play at all! This was great, and so I got started, deleting the Steam version all together. Last month my computer blew up...I lost and had to replace my SSD boot drive for Win 7 64, and my Xeon processor! Bad and expensive enough right? So when I got it back from stir with a brand new Win 7 64 installation and no copies of any ancillary files needed by my many applications, games, and sims that were installed on my E: drive, ( a 2 Tb HD ), I am now faced with having to re-install nearly everything in order to get them running properly again! DCS World for both single and mp play is still installed on my E: drive, but I cannot run any of the World or plane exe's due to all those missing files. So I started looking thru my archives to find the files I needed to completely re-install over the original installations. Here is all I can find: Under the DCS World directory I have: A-10C_1.2.0.63205.exe DCS_World_en_1.2.0.63205.exe DCS_World_en_1.2.0.63205-1.bin DCS_World_en_1.2.0.63205-2.bin DCS_World_en_1.2.0.63205-3.bin I realize the 3 bin files were extracted from the exe of the same name, but I cannot run anything even though the installs are complete except for any files that may have been installed automatically into my original boot drive. And I cannot find any kind of serial numbers or other keys. So what I'm asking is if someone can please tell me what files to install again, in what order, and where. Do I need any additional files I haven't found? And what about the serial numbers and/or keys? As soon as I can get my original DCS working again, I want to buy the Mustang and Black Shark sims for DCS, so please...tell me what I need to do! Thanx in advance for any and all help!
  11. Are you two the guys back in high school who were always correcting the teachers? <BG> Just kidding...anyway I'm sure they got the message!
  12. I had originally purchased A-10C Warthog on Steam but became quite upset when I found out they were not going to patch it! But thanx to the flyers here and in particular DCS itself, I was able to download DCS World and the Warthog addin here at no additional charge, and they're both running fine. I didn't even have to provide my Steam A-10C Warthog serial numbers! Now that's what I call "Support"! Thanx again DCS...I'm a loyal customer from now on!
  13. Hey! Thanx to you're great patience with me I think I got it! I'll simply leave the Steam version as it is, Install the latest DCS world application somewhere else, and then install the latest module file on top of that!
  14. Argh! Another patch problem! Ok, so i downloaded the latest module for A-10C. It's filename is: A-10C_1.2.0.63205.exe which is the same file under the link to access the latest download version. Then I grabbed the DCS World file group which says it must be installed before the the module but it also has the same filename as the other two! Very confusing! So please just tell me the answers to my last post on this question, and then if I've got it right as per this message. Again, Thanx
  15. I think I should ask this before I start deleting files! <g> Should I install the new game files from DCS to the Steam directory or a new non-Steam directory? If installing to the Steam directory, do I delete the old files or just allow them to be overwritten?
  16. If I understand correctly...? So the gist of the many replies is that I can use the Key for my Steam version of A-10C to download the highest available full-game version on the DCS downloads page. Delete my Steam version. Install the DCS version. Then I download the DCS World application and install it. Then whenever I run the Sim it will automatically install any new patched? I'll try giving it a shot right now and will let all know how it works. Thanx.
  17. I've been reading posts on this forum for a couple days now while waiting to get posting permissions and from what I've read so far it looks as if you all have made this a good place to ask questions and meet other players. And even though I had a lot of experiance with Micropose's Falcon F4 in past years, this Hog sim has a steep learning curve! My first question has to do with applying updates and patches to version 1.1.1.1 as bought via Steam. Normally I would merely wait until they got around to handling this automatically whenever you connected to their server, and usually they are pretty quick about it. This time they have not been! I've heard from a couple people that I can actually apply changes with updated files here, but none of these told me how! If I can update from DCS files, please tell me who, what, where, when, and if there are any special needs or problems that I must watch out for. Im using a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X joystick system with this sim. By default only two controls on the detachable throttle controller out of 7, including the rocker swith and throttle itself are bound. So if anyone has a good script setup for this sim and Joystick combo, or if by experiance they can advise me on the best bindings to setup for each control it would really help me get up to speed...and I can't wait to join an MP mission! Finally, at least for now, can anyone here suggest a good squad or clan to hook up with?
