Help with monitor setup
handy320430 replied to handy320430's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi HMA. I'm sorry about my explanation. Yes I was trying to get the frame around the MDFs so I could just click on the buttons because now they are on the second and third monitors. Instead of using my main monitor and the MDFs in the cockpit. If that makes and sense. Again thank you for all of your help you have been great mate. Handy -
Help with monitor setup
handy320430 replied to handy320430's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi HMA. thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction. Mad Tommy is a genius. I like the way he explained it so or even an idiot like myself was able to understand what to do. I have things working on the two monitors at the moment I will try to set up the third monitor later. by the way. I just can not seem to be able to get the buttons on the MDF at the moment so I still need to do some more tweaking thank you very much for the great help. Handy -
I use a 55 inch LED monitor and 2 24 inch monitors. in DCS world only my 55 inch LED monitor is recognised. what I would like to do if it's possible. is keep using the 55 inch LED monitor as my main screen. and if I can I would like to be able to place left and right MFDs on the 2. 24 inch monitors. any help would be much appreciated I'm very new at this so the less complicated it is would be even more helpful if that's possible.

Hi Erich. I have just read your post. I do not know if this will help or not. My understanding was if you have DCS black shark 1 installed on your computer. All you needed to do is to purchase the upgrade version of black shark 2 module. And then just download the module black shark 2. And then install the same as you would with any other module. And the next time you run DCS world and black shark 2. You should be prompted for the product key you purchase for the black shark 2 module up grade. Or if you purchased black shark 1 and then purchased black shark 2 upgrade prior to the release of DCS world. All you have to do is to download black shark 2 module and install as per normal. I own flaming cliffs 2 and in the next week I will be going through the same process when I buy the flaming cliffs 3 module. So until then I hope this might help in some small way but I will keep you updated on how i go when I install the upgrade for flaming cliffs 3 if you can. Let me know how you got on. Because I might need the same help when installing flaming cliffs3. Good luck mate Handy.

Please improve default controller profiles

It is also sending me crazy. When I have to do remap every key and when you have to do that to 4 modules it just sends me nutts. I spent more time trying to set up my controls than I do actually flying. -
I had exactly the same problem When I tried to install blackshark2. I had a look on all the Forum pages. And fixes they were suggesting were too hard for me to try. I'm pretty new at this sort of stuff. So what I did was uninstall DCS world. And reinstall it. That brought back DCS world to the original version 1.2.2.7122. And then I downloaded the blackshark2 module again. And I was able to install it. The problem seems to be if you install a module in to or just DCS world and then apply the update it takes DCS world to version 1.2.2.7204. And if you try to add another module after this you keep coming up with the same problem. So now I am leaving DCS world at version 1.2.2.7122 until I had finished purchasing and installing all the other modules and then I will apply the update. I hope this has not been a long winded answer as I am quite new to this. Other people have posted workarounds for this problem but like I said I am not very good at changing configuration settings. So this was the best solution I could find for myself. I hope this has been helpful to you.

Thank you for your help. I've been able to fix the problem. I uninstall DCS world and then re-install it. I was then able to download and add my modules. I'm still waiting to purchase two more modules before I apply the new update. Otherwise I will have to go through the same process again. My suggestion is not to apply the new update till after you have installed all the modules you would like to install
