  1. Thanks.. I could hold the trim switch down for 30 days and the pitch trim would not work. At one point, I zoomed in to the pitch trim gauge and watched it for 2 min while holding the switch and nothing:joystick: I can assure you guys that the pitch trim isn't slow..... it just doesn't work Lastly, I went ahead and put in for a refund on the Viggen: problem solved sorta:huh:
  2. I tried creating a mission then saving along with starting with a cold start: no luck on pitch trim. Also, I entered an aerobatic server earlier and started with one of the Viggens that were already airborne: the pitch trim worked fine. If any flight begins on the ground with a cold start, I will not be able to trim the ac in the pitch axis.
  3. I just went through a complete uninstall and re-install, including the removal of the control config for the Viggen. After re-installation, I completed the control mapping again and decided to try instant action. The trim works as it should during an instant action mission with the pitch trim needle moving fairly quick and smooth. However, if I go back and try a cold start there is no way for me to get the pitch trim function working (aileron trim works fine) so something is quirky and according to other posts I have come across has been for a while. The issue appears to be a hit or miss with some folks having an issue and others not. In fact, Zabuza mentioned that he also had the problem and for some unknown reason the issue disappeared. Update: I went into the mission editor and had the aircraft start at the runway and ready for takeoff: the pitch trim works. Maybe there is something I am missing in pre-flight and startup?
  4. I picked up the plane yesterday and up to this point have not been able to get the pitch trim to work. I have done the following: Checked and re-checked the trim assignments and they are fine. I have tried assigning the pitch trim to the Warthog thumb switch along with the keyboard with zero luck. Also, I have tried cycling the trim circuit breaker, flipping all the switches on the emergency trim switch panel and re-centering them followed by pulling the trim circuit breaker in and out again with zero luck. Yes, I have held the trim switch down for over a minute with zero movement on the trim needle..... in either direction Am I missing something here or is the darned plane broke? Thanks
  5. Thanks for the reply. I did try the repair along with the update again but that did not work. However, I did find a solution. I went into the users/my name/saved games/dcs.openbeta folder and made a backup of the config folder (I would rather have my nipples pierced with a hot soldering gun tip than re-configure all of the control inputs!:joystick:). Then I deleted all of the files in the DCS.openbeta folder, restarted DCS Openbeta and walla! After loading DCS, I exited and placed my saved config folder back into the DCS.openbeta folder and all is well. Cheers!
  6. After this latest 700 and something meg update to DCS 2.5.0.14138.317, DCS no longer starts up. I can get past the login screen but that is as far as it goes. DCS stays on the loading screen...........forever..... Lastly, there are no crash reports that pop up and the game has to be shut down via the task manager. Prior to this update, there were no issues but after this latest update, DCS is no longer usable on my end. Cheers!
  7. The main point of having the ability to load up on inert weapons is for two things only and that is the weight and drag. The weapons do not need to have any function at all with the exception of having weight, drag, and the ability to fix themselves to the correct hard points on the aircraft. Lastly, a positive side effect is the weapons cannot be used as they are normally intended to be used.
  8. I have know idea if I am alone on this thought but it would sure be nice to have the ability to attach a full weapon load out that is non-functioning or inert. Why you may ask? Simply having the ability to carry the weight of a full combat load out without posing any danger from trigger happy individuals on aerobatic servers. Flying with a full, inert, load might provide a safe training opportunity without the danger of creating any poop storms from individuals who cannot resist shooting down other players.:argue: Cheers, Q
  9. Same issue here also.. I think it is on their end not ours....
  10. This method does not actually work for me. I have been fighting with 1.5 for a day now with no luck. When I try and log in, it tells me no internet connection. If I try and run the updater through the cmd line, it will say checking for updates then nothing happens. If I try and run a repair, I am told the following. "INFO : Got reply from www.digitalcombatsimulator.com ERROR: Conection to server 'srv4.update.digitalcombatsimulator.com' failed: Couldn't resolve host name ERROR: srv4.update.digitalcombatsimulator.com replied HTTP -1 ERROR: Couldn't resolve host name" Sawacs
  11. I have been trying all day to get the Mirage 2000 installed with no luck. I have tried flushing the DNS cache, running from the command line (update, repair, update with the version number at the end, re-installing the entire 1.5 game) with zero luck. There was one small sign of life after the initial re-install of 1.5 with a message popup informing me the Mirage could be installed now. However, that was short lived. Immediately following that message, I received an error message telling me there was no internet connection. I changed over to DCS 2.0 and there was indeed an internet connection but no message telling me I could install the Mirage. In fact, there were no modules listed at all under the module manager and no way to manage the modules etc. Before re-installing DCS 1.5, I was receiving an error message telling me "could not resolve the server name" when trying to update. Any ideas on what is going on? Btw, put a darned manual download link for the Mirage vs relying on the module manager! Sawacs
  12. I am having the same issue and tried the above mentioned recommendation. However, I received an error telling me the hostname could not be resolved? Sawacs
  13. I have tried just about everything I can think of to get the Mirage installed with no luck. For some reason the updater will not update. I have tried running the updater from the command line etc. What am I doing wrong here? This stuff should not be this complicated. After entering the game, nothing shows up under the module manager. If I enter the module manager, zero modules show up and I get an error message telling me to try again later. This happens on both DCS 1.5 and 2.0. "STATUS: Connecting to update servers... INFO : Got reply from www.digitalcombatsimulator.com ERROR: Conection to server 'updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com' failed: Couldn't resolve host name ERROR: updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com replied HTTP -1 ERROR: Couldn't resolve host name" Sawacs
