  1. I learned a useful trick that might be relevant here. I had remembered reading somewhere that during desert storm Hog pilots would hold on to one maverick and use it as a poor mans FLIR pod when searching for targets at night. I tried this out and it led me to discover that the maverick sensor symbol, in the HUD, is not covered by the gun reticle. So you can use the mavericks sensor as a target aim point when its locked on a target . Its very effective at night when you can barley see anything. Setup is simple: master mode to gun, tgp on left MFCD, Mavrick as sensor on right MFCD Here's the work flow: target spotted in TGP > Make SPI > Slew maverick to SPI > Dive on target> Maverick track(TMS FWD short) > Fly the gun reticle onto the center dot of the maverick sensor symbol> Once on target engage first trigger stage> Fire when in desired range. This method allowed me to finally get reliable gun kills at night. It does mean that you have to hold onto a maverick until your gun ammo is gone. Here's an old video showing what im talking about. sorry for bad resolution. I need to redo the video sometime.
  2. While trying to get a feel for the ground wind, I fired a WP smoke rocket at the target. It landed about 30 feet away and ignited. the column of smoke rose straight up in the air. So I took that as calm winds. However after destroying the target, The smoke column from the destroyed target leaned heavily to the one side. Thus indicating a heavy wind to one direction. However the the WP smoke remained vertical, still only about 30 feet from the target. Should be a simple fix right? Make the WP smoke the same as the target smoke, just colored white and smaller.
  3. Thank you very much everyone. I got everything working. :)
  4. DCS World V-1.2.2.7570. Black shark 2 module, same V#. While on the ground the radio functions correctly. It tunes to the tower. Can request "start up", "taxi", and "takeoff." Can even tune into wing man calling out "rolling," "wheels up," or anything the wing man might say during a mission. But no matter what key function pressed( the keyboard "\" or a mapped joystick button) while in the air the communication menu will not open. It is possible to land and the menu is active again. But cannot open menu to talk to ATC or wing man while in flight. The in the A-10C module, I also have, the radios work perfectly at all time. Is there a different key function that I am not aware of? or is this an actual bug?
