That's the problem with the Internet. Things spoken tongue-in-cheek All with a note of sarcastic humor. never Come across right. Despite the 2 :-) Not trying to Alienate anyone. I like what Those guys have done. But the truth is we did Do it First. And if it hadn't been for the delay caused by working with a third-party developer that fell through. Our aircraft would've been Done a long time ago. I have been actually flying this aircraft in the other Sim for years now. And it flies spectacularly. But bringing It here is far more complicated. As you well know. But we are making steady progress daily. And I have one advantage in that I am retired, translation: (An old guy) but that also means I can Commit A lot more hours Into a project than almost anyone else. And this is not my only project. I currently have about 10 aircraft I am working on. As well as flying with one of the online Formation Groups. And serving as a contributing modeler to another project. The Skyhawk is a passion of mine. And I want to see it done right. I worked on these aircraft in the Late seventies. I've had the privilege of being stationed in Miramar during the height of the top gun days. Since I have first-hand experience with them. Hopefully, that counts for something than just reading it in books. Not to mention, which I have an absolutely extensive library (Terabytes of information as a matter of fact) On this particular subject. Hopefully this clears up a few things

Thank you, now we just have to get the word out. :-) We started our project first. But it looks like were being overtaken. At least we build our own models. :-)

Geometry is finally Cleaned up and done ., Animations are just about complete. Unwrapping is underway as well as programming. Ortho Projected white box images Follow.

That has always been the plan. :-)

The original A4 C Skyhawk I've been working on this on And off for 6 years. Time to make an announcement. A lot of people thought this project was dead. Many more thought we were the "other guys" And I am not taking anything away from them. They are doing great work. This model is completely scratch built every single pixel every single vertex. It has been a Labor of love to model one of my favorite most iconic aircraft. We now have It flying DCS. So I present to you one of many models. We Have the A4 C, E, F, M, K,, T-A4 J All being worked on simultaneously. So here is our first teaser you seen it before. Now here it is In game.

6 years ago I created an iconic aircraft for A different flight simulator We never lost hope that we would bring it here. Still, progress

guess what's coming,

just some more eye candy.

wow, and I thought I was a geek…! :) what can I do to help you test the system? We could converse on Skype if you like, just PM me and I'll give you my Skype name. I get so disgusted with Helios and having to redo the screens all the time. As I write this I just picked up a 27 inch 4K monitor  I plan to replace several of the lower tiered monitors. In the interest of saving a little $$ electrical costs. -

Thank you for the complement, I get that a lot. :-) I will reprint my specs but believe it or not, the whole thing runs on a pair of 670 GTX 4 GB cards…! and a Matrox triple head to go digital. the rest is pretty straightforward. Core I 7 2600 K at 4.2 32 GB PC 1600 RAM 2 -EVGA 670 GTX 4 GB (8 GB total) Matrox Triple Head to Go digital edition with the 1920 HD upgrade 1 TB Samsung SSD Manhattan Mondo hub 28 port USB powered hub track IR Pro (Avegant Glyph on order:-)) 12 - 1 TB hard drives (various models) complete Saitek flight yoke set up W/rudder pedals (replaced the ones pictured) Thrust Master warthog stick and throttle Thrust Master MFD's Real Flight interlink controller 3-D connection space pilot Pro Saitek cyborg joystick. Nostromo N52 (I'm on my 3rd one) not pictured but interestingly relevant . Full-Spectrum GEN 5 40 Watt laser cutter/engraver (not pictured) (for making A 10-C switch panels) Shop Master El Dorado 3 axis CNC machine with a 4th rotary axis. 2-DOF motion platform in the basement (needs new motors and a rebuild) I think that about covers it. I've been doing this a really really long time and stuff just collects. :-) edit: I almost forgot… only the 3 monitors pictured on top are matched and purchased HP 24 WD OLED's, the rest of the monitors (2-24 inch 1-23 inch and 2-15 inch units on the lower row) I got from the local trash dump, and repaired them for total cost of about 12 bucks :-) sorry for all the edits but every time I look around my desk. I realize there was something I forgot to list -
I am very chill, I'm actually one of the chillist people you'll ever meet. if people want to know information from VEAO, then they should ask VEAO. Not expect me to answer on their behalf which has nothing to do with what I am trying to accomplish At the moment. I approach things as any business person would. I asked direct questions which people seem these days to interpret as "rude". you and I have never had a conversation before on these forums. As for my target audience… It is the people who want to fly cool, exciting aircraft in a cool, exciting flight simulator. The only attitude I have is wanting to get things done, and not get mired in the muck of politics. I deal straight up with people and I expect no less in return. and if that is rude, go ahead and call me rude in a public forum and I will wear the label proudly.

if you're still looking for beta testers, I believe the picture's worth 1000 words. -
you are correct, you responded before I got a chance to amend my statement. But edits have been made.
-
so what is your point of your question? Just because one group does not find it financially viable, doesn't mean it's not financially viable for everyone. It almost sounds like you're taking sides. You're supposed to be a moderator and therefore have a neutral standing. My statements were all general and 100% correct . VEAO for whatever reason could not get the job done, I did not say why. That is a 100% accurate statement . It is also an accurate statement as you well know that I am attempting to secure other methods. it is also an accurate statement without getting into specifics that there is a lot of politics and secrecy in the developer community. This is exactly the kind of discussions. I did not want to get into. I am way too old to be interested in petty politics. I'm interested in getting a plane built. nothing else. you can either help, mentor, or get out of my way.
-
just a heads up focus returns here :-)
-
I'm back to developing this myself, Veao couldn't get the job done, so now I am going to have to figure out a way to do it myself. when I undertook this, I did not realize just how much politics and secrecy were involved . I thought I was just making a aircraft add on. if anyone wants to take a crack at doing the flight model programming, feel free to message me. I have all the data.
-
it will be in the very near future. I intend to develop for both platforms. Without getting into a "who's flight model is better debate" right now we are vetting the flight model for X-Plane. Which is a lot easier to do on that platform. Due to the flight model development tools built into X-Plane. It is easier to get a highly accurate "PFM, quality flight model" which I can then use the data from that to create the flight model in DCS. a lot of the flight model debate stems from the fact that a lot of X-Plane developers do not properly vet their flight models even though the program was designed from the very beginning to do exactly that. If it is good enough for all these companies Then I imagine it will be good enough for DCS as well. The rest is just politics. :-)

Update some screenshots updating what I've been doing with my model. still looking for a sponsor that can get things done. Enjoy the pictures.

We are very much active. The reason people have moved over to the VEAO mod section is probably because we have chosen them produce the aircraft for us . you'll just have to stay tuned for the official announcement. :) that does not mean this thread is closed. It just means we're working harder to make this project a reality.

don't misunderstand me. I meant that comment as a joke because with my experience I should know what those two expressions meant, the a 4 Skyhawk is also one of my favorites. I just thought I knew everything about the plane including those 2 expressions. But in my age I forgot their meanings. after all, the last time I sat in one was back in A-school some 39 years ago ;) age has a way of making you forget things that once upon a time were painfully obvious:smilewink: Not to worry, talking to you guys has it all coming back to me now LOL
