  1. Up to now, I prefered air to air combat (I get too low fps on the ground). However, I just started to try ground pounding. I can not figure out what I am doing wrong with the Maverick. 8 or 9 times out of 10, the Maverick will impact slightly behind and to the right of the target. The target, of couse, survives and I am left frustrated. Here are two pictures of my problem. First pic, locked on: Second pic, crater slightly behind and to the right of the BMP and below and to the left of the center of the Maverick crosshairs: Steps I am currently following. 1. Go air to ground mode. 2. Select the Maverick. 3. Slew the target cursor over the target. 4. Click the lock button (this makes the cursor static on the target) 5. Fire the Maverick. 6. Miss What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
  2. Alright, here is what happened. I took the joystick apart and looked around for any broken/loose wiring and could not find anything wrong. So, I just unplugged my throttle. My joystick seems works fine other than it is still activating my throttle functions without the throttle even being connected. So I just disabled all those throttle functions in LOMAC and Pacific Fighters and I'm good to use my joystick. I was about to buy another X45 or maybe upgrade to a x52. But then I got to thinking about it, and was not happy about my X45 going south of cheese after only a year and a half of moderate use. So I told myself that I was done with saitek. Instead of buying another set for $100 or so, I got a new CH Pro Throttle for $98. I can still use the x45 joystick. Then when that craps out, ill just buy a CH Fighterstick and be set for life :) Anyone need a X45 throttle that works and still has good buttons?
  3. I am drooling over the possiblity of a great helo sim. However, ground pounding in LOMAC 1.02 can already stress my system a little more that I would like. Especially when there are lots of vehicles, explosions, smoke, ect. That is the main reason why I prefer flying the interceptors over the ground pounders. Is Black Shark just gonna make things worse? Or will they be making some tweaks to the graphic code? All these new screenshots showcase the graphics of Black Shark, but are actually scaring me away from buying it. I'm gonna be very hesitant to buy it if ground pounding gets even worse (fps wise) than it already is. All my games, except LOMAC, run great at high settings on my system: Pacific Fighters, Americas Army, BF2. Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego, X850XT 2 GB Corsair XMS
  4. I am pretty sure it is not a loose connection on the cable from the joystick to the throttle. That cable is in pretty tight. I have even unscrewed that cable from the joystick and screwed it back in to no avail. The cable that goes from the joystick to the usb port on the computer seems to be affecting it. When I jiggle that one, sometimes it will temporarily correct the problem. Mikoyan, thanks for your offer to sell a throttle. However, I'm thinking that the problem is in the joystick somehow. I'm thinking that some connector inside me joystick is messing up my throttle. I'm betting that the throttle is physically ok. Any other ideas? Thanks
  5. I have had the X45 for almost a year and it has served me well. However, a problem has recently started to occur. Now (most of the time) when I am using the joystick, the throttle functions will activate and the light on the throttle will either turn off for a second or two, or will blink repeatedly. This is without touching the throttle at all. I have tried to recalibrate the joystick to no avail. In fact, after I calibrate it and click the test tab, the problem shows up there as well. If I wiggle the joystick around, the little cross in the X/Y Axes box moves properly. However, the Throttle, Rudder, and Rotary 1 and 2 will all move as well. Again, this is without me even touching the throttle. The problem is especially evident on Rotary 1. The buttons on the throttle seem unaffected. I am almost positive that this is a hardware related issue and not software. Sometimes it will help if I jiggle the cord that connects the computer to the joystick. Thanks for any suggestions
