Hi guys, went to try out one of the default missions in the A-10 folder, only to have the right engine fail as I was halfway down the runway :( As you can see from the track, I spun the yaw trim to the left, throttled back and tried to takeoff before I ran out of runway. I had to replay the track a few times to avoid the wingman, and, well, probably shouldn't have jettisoned the weapons that close to the ground, but I wasn't keen on trying to stop on the grass; plus it was the only way I could get the plane in the air.
I also realise I let the fire burn for way too long, but as I am still a very new pilot, I had my hands full trying to keep it in the air without stalling. After yet another track replay, I tried throttling back immediately after the engine cuts out, but it still catches fire shortly after, rendering me with an engine full of suppressant that will not restart later anyway :(
The mission started me on the runway ready to go, all I did was derp around with the TAD a little, turn on the TGP and set the autopilot to Path mode.
My main question is, what happened to the engine, and is there anything I could've done at that point to salvage it? I also realise I should've run the engines up with the brakes on, but any other tips you guys have will be much appreciated :D Right engine takeoff fail.trk
