  1. A word of advice: go back to Windows 7 64 bits. Unless someone proves that DCS is "faster" in Windows 8.1, I won´t update...even then, I am in doubt because the only things that I hear from Windows 8 and 8.1 as a desktop OS are bad things.

My experience with windows 8 has been quite good.

It uses less RAM and starts up ALOT faster.

I'm also using Start is back to get the start menu back and with that it really just feels like a better looking Win 7

  2. It's not really a bug, it's the way DCS handles sound (which is awesome).

If you zoom in you fly "into" the sound waves so you hear more of them faster.

While zooming out the opposite happens and you fly with the sound waves so fewer of them reach you.

  3. Can't understand why...

Reminds me one old joke, by the way:

A woman goes to fortune teller. After looking into her crystal ball, the fortune teller is horrified and says: "Your decision will cause deaths of millions."

The woman is of course disturbed beyond words, comes out of the parlor, and sees a young boy about to be hit by a tram. "Well, maybe I'll kill millions, but I will at least save this one!" says she to herself and runs towards the boy.

She pushes him out of the track at the last moment, saving his life and dying under the tram herself. People start gathering around the scene, including a policeman. He asks the boy: "Are you alright, kid? What's your name?"

    "Adolf Hitler", replies he innocently...

I know, a little bitter humor...

    LOL, made my day

  4. that's a shame. ED should really consider adding that ability........

naw, invincible, unlimited weapons, fuel, that stuff isn't the issue. I have FC3 on basically full real settings. The issue is that right now, I can't learn hundreds of switches and buttons just to fly one aircraft :P

It's not really that hard. The Black Sharks systems are actually very basic and easy to learn. The efficient flying in combat is the hard part.

  5. The true Hero's were the boys and girls that flew the Huey and could almost control it with its day one flight model i doubt any take on helicopters would help you much back in them days.

Not taking anything from you as the flight model is more stable now but still takes along time to become a good pilot.

The old flight model wasn't really more difficult. It was just more twitchy and it felt like the CoG was above the rotors
