  1. Hello C9SMO,

I really love your color stripes please can you give me the name of the software that you use for created your stripes ?

A great thanks in advance for your assistance, Skull.

Adobe Photoshop (CS), thats basically it... you can find alot of tutorials in the web:)

  2. Is the lack of mipmaps what makes it looks so "clean"?

no, just removed a lot of "weathering" and partially "rivets" from the template. Using mipmaps should increase anti-aliasing... correct me if i'am wrong...

  3. Hi c9smo,

    just one little hint.

Don't use .bmp for saving your files, they are getting too big. Use .dds instead for saving, it also generates mipmaps.

If you use photoshop, search for "nvidia dds plugin". You can also find plugins for other paint software like gimp.

will use dds. in future projects!

  5. Hi c9smo,

I have one question to the SAR-Skin, why did you copy the door from a picture instead of using the template and paint the door, this would better fit the 3D-Model of the UH-1?

kind of liked the worn, more realistic look..

but you are right its not 100% accurate!

  6. How did you do the clear "MAT" on the fuselage? Just for future reference.

used a real photo, copy+paste+ fitting it to the psd. file, then recolouring every line including MAT

  7. Hi,

first: you turned the texture 180° and mirrored it.

second: use DXT5 (interpolated alpha) for the blade-file, it has a alpha channel.

I also found a little shift of the blade texture at the uh1_WTD_tail.bmp file. Did you copy blades to the texture?

when I try to save the blade texture with DXT5 (+alpha) photoshop basically says " image width and height must be multiple of four"

For all of you that have problems with the blade texture:

delete the following line in the description.lua {"uh1_rotor_alfa", 0, "blade.dds",false};"

somehow even with wrong textures in the skin, it will be displayed correctly in my pc:(

  8. Hi c9smo,

I think you did forget the rotor blade file "uh_1_blade_swc.tga".

Why did you not use the patch-file for the pilot- and copilot-patches?

Thanks for your advice! I just forgot to delete the "uh_1_blade_swc.tga" line in the description file. Tested various rotor blade skins but finally choose to skin the rotor blade in the uh1_tail.bmp file.

And yes your right, i tried to use the patch files, but to be honest I just couldnt find out which DDS/TGA format is used. Tried various settings in my Photoshop Nvidia DDS panel... If you have some advice ... let me know :helpsmilie:

  9. That sounds great :)

Btw your Rettungsflugwacht-Huey looks nice ;) But did they really use the Huey/do they still use it or just Eurocopters?

    And are you German? :)

Actually the DRF uses Bell 412 from the HDM Luftrettung, but I like the livery so i translated it to the Huey ;)

Of course they use Eurocopter BK117-1/2 and the EC 135 as well...

    And yes I'am German....
