  1. I cannot make the event, I have to work :(

  3. I would say never fly the planned route. When flying at very low levels leave your gear down because if you tap the dirt your gear takes the hit and not your sensors. if you can, follow roads to prevent the dust trail.( this will not work in 2.0). I always have my cannon set to bore sight when I'm traveling. I also have my gun pods active so I can easily switch to them or use my cannon if a jet jumps me. Always have your guns ready when traveling. I have downed several jets with my guns that tried to jump me. Many of them I recorded on my youtube channel. Use weapons in manual mode, and never get closer than 8k to the AO until all air defenses are destroyed. At 8.4 k you should usually get a hit with a vik. If you are seen, or see a jet that may have seen you, hide. I will land in a small town or forest and completely shutdown. Then I wait 10 min or so until they give up or get chased away. TeamSpeak is essential, you can call in your fighters to cover you. I constantly look at my abris to determine the topography of the AO. I'm looking for cover, escape routes, firing positions and hiding spots. Speed is your enemy, never rush in and start shooting. Always observe your area around the AO. I NEVER fly over 40m and always watch for my dust trail, sometimes it doesn't matter, but it often will get you killed. A dust cloud around you at your firing position is asking for death. I hunt other choppers, 90% of the time I see a chopper rush in at altitude and start shooting. They become an easy meal for my Shark.
  4. I would strongly suggest creating a start up check list. It will help you speed up the learning process. You can also create checklist for weapons deployment and any other function of the aircraft. Use the training range to practice and take your time, learning to fly it is part of the fun,
  5. Outstanding. Works great now for Night vision. Thank you
  6. I run 3 27" monitors with my Gtx 980 ti. When I use my night vision in my KA-50, only my front monitor is working and both side monitors turn white. Any ideas on how to fix this?
  7. I had a great time flying in this event. I think we were well on our way to competing the mission. Save me a spot for the next event.
  8. Fixed....It was the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver. This is what I did to fix it. Uninstallation of the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver through the Device Manager is not a supported method and it's not validated. Do not uninstall the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller driver through the Device Manager. Select Start, then select Control Panel. Make sure "View by Category" is selected, and select Uninstall a program. Select Organize, select Layout, then select Details Pane. The Details Pane will be shown at the bottom of screen. Select Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver, and select Uninstall or Uninstall/Change. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete uninstallation and restart the computer.
  9. yes I plug it in when prompt, then it crashes, sometimes the throttle and mfd lights come on and then go out, I installed it on my laptop to test it and it works fine. going to replace the 6 pin connector cord to see if it helps.
  10. so far I cannot find that driver or software version
  11. I installed asrock z87 extreme 4 motherboard, after my gigabyte mobo died. I cannot get the x52 pro drivers to install. it stalls at the install wizard and crashes. the stick works fine, so it is not the x52 pro. I have the bios and windows 7 all updated along with my NVidia gtx 760 drivers. Called tech support at madcatz, they were not much help, they sent the ticket to "headquarters" what ever that means. other people have not had the problem with the same mobo. I cannot afford to buy a new hotas after replacing the board, any ideas? thanks
  12. I have also seen this many times in 1.2.6
  13. Perfect - the only thing I would add is -read the briefing very carefully, never get closer than 7.5k from SAMS or armor, 8.4k is my preferred Vikhr launch range, and always remember -LOW-SLOW-SCAN-SCAN and then SCAN some more!
  14. +1 - I agree, although I do believe it is VERY important to learn the basic in single player, you will learn much more talking to people on Teamspeak and flying on a public server. Our server in on 1.2.6 and you can join us on Teamspeak at 63.209.37.120:9274. __________________
  15. Come and fly with us on our server and join us on teamspeak. We are always looking for new people to fly with.
  16. You are always welcome on our server, a lot of our members fly helicopters. I fly the KA-50 exclusively. Hope to see you.
  17. Torino, If you ever want to learn the KA-50, I would be happy to teach you. I would set up a closed server and we could fly. You will find that using teamspeak will be very helpful and also YouTube videos are a critical tool in learning DCS. You are welcome to learn on our server and teamspeak channel (63.209.37.120:9274). Cooper
  18. That looks like an overlapping detection area to me.
