I am not comparing it to the Huey, im comparing it to flying actual helicopters, and important things are missing, its not just a little bit off.

That is a very good call. I wish i did more reading before purchase. I think this is the first "advanced" module in DCS that is not up to the level that it should be after release. I know some say its in beta but i would say it's even early to call it that. It ignores most of the physics or aerodynamics involved in helicopter flight. It doesn't have an advanced flight model, and its not even close. So I suggest waiting if you are looking for helicopter simulation. If you are ok with a game like flight model, its should work for you. The 3d model looks nice, the systems work nice its only the AFM thats missing. I really hope this will not happen again in future modules, i feel like i should have bought something else with that money :(

Well if you mean the sudden rate of descent increase that solves itself then yes, i see VRS. But unfortunately that is not how it works for VRS. A lot more helicopters would be in one piece around the world if that was true. I dont want to offend anyone, im just waiting for a good explanation, maybe the gazelle is an exception aerodinamically. Im sorry but this video doesnt give me the explanation. But thanks.

Im stating the same as the video you linked myHelljumper. There is no VRS. And recovery from VRS with this technique in real life is impossible. You can't recover by increasing collective only. As stated before me, raising collective in VRS is counterproductive.

I hesitated to comment on the gazelle by polychop for a while now. But I got to a point where i need to write it out of my system. Let me clarify that I understan how much work has been laid into this project and I am not in any way suggesting that it is not a sophisticated product. (if someone can point me out to a reference where it is officially stated that this is still in beta that would ease on my soul a little) Ok so about VRS with the gazelle: Yeah its non existent (as of 1.5.4.57288 ) The mi-8 and the uh-1 had it in the betas as i think is a fundamental feature in helicopter simulation. I dont want to mention all the other wierd things happenig that is aerodinamically is just not right with the gazelle. And the stuff that happens when the skids contact the ground... As i said modelling helicopters must be hard work and its clear that a lot of work has been put in the gazelle. It looks incredible and the system modelling looks compelling. But as it is not stated that this is a beta (at least flight model wise) i have to say i am very disappointed. I hope i was just too angry to go trough all the threads and somewhere a lot of things are promised to be enhanced/added flm wise. I have to state that i have never flown a gazelle but i have experience on mi-8 and as-350 so on medium and light class helicopters and I know VRS is a danger in every type. Sorry for the long post, and hope this nice helicopter will improve in the future.

Fixed with 1.5.3.!!! Thank you! (had nothing to do with the "G force moves head" check box, checked or unchecked produced the same abnormal movement in 1.5.2, but now with 1.5.3, its gone!)

Hi, I'm currently running version 1.5.2.49392. I'm not sure which version introduced this (somewhere after 1.5), but I'm experiencing erratic pilot head movement to a level that it is very annoying. Whenever the helicopter is entering translational lift, the pilots head looks almost to his feet and a few seconds have to pass until it returns to the normal view. I know that there is a lot of vibration is experienced when entering/leaving TL, but I never experienced my head tossed around during it (real life mi-8 pilot here). Can you please return to the previous (pre 1.5) head movement model? (Or at least make it switchable) It is especially annoying during rolling takeoffs. A friend running the same version confirmed, that it is not an isolated problem on my part. Thank you! Matt

For Tusler: What you refer to as "SAS" turns off in case of low rotor rpm. (systems required for the autopilot to be operational are driven off of the main gearbox) So avoid loosing rotor RPM (i.e.: below 90%, ideally should be around 95%) You probably know this, but as a reminder: high collective settings or rapid movement of the collective has the highest influence on rotor RPM, but of course rapid fwd cyclic also has this effect to name a few.
