Must be a problem with the AIM9P5S with the F-5. I used a different module and used the Mike instead and it took out a Mig-21 no problem with one direct hit.

I have scored several direct hits on Mig-21's in the past hour. Either the Aim9p5s is not causing the damage it should or the AI Mig21 is tanking it. Gun damage seems OK. If I score one direct hit with an AIM9P5S I will only get fuel leakage from the MIG, 2 direct hits on the same MIG seems to only cause more fuel leaking and sometimes engine smoking. I was using the F-5 module on 2.5 Caucasus map.

I've had more success with the aim-9 when the seeker was slaved to a radar lock. Should this make a difference? I know the target will know it is locked but it won't know a missile has been fired unless it detects it visually. Then again if it is being locked you think the target would be looking for a missile being fired from that direction and already be taking evasive measures. I don't really know why I would have more success slaving the seeker to a radar lock than surprising the target by using just boresight or scan modes without radar.

That's the key. The AI has the uncanny ability to know exactly when you hold down the launch button and start spamming flares until your missile misses or they run out of flares. :hmm:

I shortened Magnificent-8 to Mag8, but yes I meant Mi-8. Thanks, I did find the CA docs and the limited stuff for the Mi-8.

I bought it yesterday along with the Mag-8 beta. Although I have been unsuccessful finding any English language documentation(please help with this if anyone can). I found CA to be fun for the small amount of time I messed with it. I created a fast mission in DCS world, created a vehicle for myself in the editor and then just took control of it from within the mission. It was fun seeing and interacting with the world from the ground. Looking for enemy ground units while seeing the air battle going on was pretty cool. I would say, just don't expect the same level of fidelity that you would get in a module like the A-10C and you'll be pleased with it. Especially for $11, with the Mag 8 I got $80 worth of stuff for $30, can't beat that.:thumbup: Never mind just found some English docs in the Mod folder.
