Hi, I've a few modules and installed the A10C II today and I cannon bind my keys as I wish to as certain options are grayed out. See image attached with the yellow box around it. How can I "un" gray these areas so I can apply the keybinds? I've other modules installed and set-up with a lot of custom key binds so not in a rush to reset everything! Thanks for any help

Helios 1.6 - Official Thread
72hundred replied to derammo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey, I've installed the most recent edition and installed the F18 profile and I've green ticks in "Interface status" except for one; "DCS Monitor Setup" which has an orange triangle at with the following line "interface "DCS Additional Viewports" is providing additional viewport patches but this profile uses a third-party solution for those" Also I get a similar error with the Helios Control Center; { "Product": "Helios", "Version": "1.6.3426.4", "Items": [ { "Report": [ { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:49:11.929 am", "Status": "Helios 1.6.3426.0004\nhttps://github.com/HeliosVirtualCockpit/Helios/" }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:15.470 am", "Status": "Loading Profile..." }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:16.232 am", "Status": "Generated Export.lua stub is up to date for DCS", "Flags": 2 }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:16.234 am", "Status": "The configured DCS export script at '%USERPROFILE%\\Saved Games\\DCS\\Scripts\\Helios\\HeliosExport16.lua' is up to date", "Flags": 2 }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:16.236 am", "Status": "The export module provided by Capt Zeen (Version 1) at '%USERPROFILE%\\Saved Games\\DCS\\Scripts\\Helios\\Mods\\Helios_F18C.lua' is up to date", "Flags": 2 }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:16.242 am", "Severity": 1, "Status": "interface 'DCS Additional Viewports' is providing additional viewport patches but this profile uses a third-party solution for those", "Recommendation": "Remove the 'DCS Additional Viewports' interface since this profile is configured to expect a third-party solution to provide viewport modifications" }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:16.273 am", "Status": "monitor setup file 'Helios.lua' in Saved Games\\DCS\\Config\\MonitorSetup is up to date", "Flags": 2 }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:16.293 am", "Status": "Saved Games\\DCS\\Config\\options.lua has 'Resolution' set to 7680x1600", "Flags": 2, "Recommendation": "Using DCS, please make sure the 'Resolution' in the 'System' options is set to 6240x1600" }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:16.293 am", "Status": "Saved Games\\DCS\\Config\\options.lua has 'Monitors' set to 'h_fa-18c_v3.1b'", "Flags": 2, "Recommendation": "Using DCS, please make sure 'Monitors' in the 'System' options is set to 'Helios'" }, { "TimeStamp": "03/02/2021 07:53:18.783 am", "Status": "Running Profile" } ], "Name": "Control Center Console" } ] } Also I'm sure if related or not but in the tab "DCS Monitor Setup" the Status is "Monitor setup files need to be configured" (which is in red) and when I click on the "Configure" nothing happens. Many thanks if you could look at the above, as I'm trying to get it up and running to keep main screen at 144Hz and the outputs to three other small screens to 60Hz (which is the small screen max Hz I think) and I think Helios might be just the solution needed. -
Hi, I've recently changed main monitor and the new one can support 144Hz. Previously I had set-up main monitor and my three DDIs to output to three smaller screens with the guide here https://www.vaipe.net/homecockpit/dcs-hornet-ddis-and-mfcd-to-external-monitor/ which was nice and easy to follow. But the issue is when I do this for the new set-up it forces the main screen to max of 60hz which I presume is the max of the small screens. I've tried to install Helios and I'm not getting it to work (at all) - but I'm not sure it will/can do the above; keep the main screen at 144Hz and out put the three DDIs to the smaller screens. Given this is a new set-up PC I can start from scratch and that's why coming here. Looking for something that can do the above and won't break integrity for MP and won't be disturbed by DCS updates. Many thanks in advance!

Making DDI's on other monitors brighter (outputted via lua file).

@zippoa - perfect yea that worked a treat, wasn't just the gamma I needed though, "digital vibrance" maxed out with Nvidia has it looking well - thanks again. -

Any ideas on this one? Still having issue. -
Hi, I've followed the EXCELLENT guide here - https://www.vaipe.net/homecockpit/dcs-hornet-ddis-and-mfcd-to-external-monitor/ And its working extremely well bar one issue - the DDIs look rather dull and dark on the other screens. The screens themselves are capable of brighter tones but seems the output from DCS is rather dark. Example below, one with CCD (which really shows it) and one with FLIR (not as obvious); https://imgur.com/a/yrnEV9K Thanks for any help.

Good news! Found it, Matt had a post instead. Couldn't find (?)NineLine's - https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3742659&postcount=104 So it would seem that from the pod's perspective things will be improving as, the current AN/AAQ-28 has a resolution of "subsequently replaced the "320x256" FLIR with a latest technology "640x512" FLIR." ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litening ). I suspect we have the non-ER version in game with the 320x256 resolution, not sure though. I can't readily find the resolution of the AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR, but one could be optimistic that with the prefix of "Advanced" the abilities will be better! In any case, and back to point, I would appreciate tips of any given pod's implementation. Tips, tricks and the such!

Hi all, I cannot seem to get to grips with the targeting pod to state that I could say I'm proficient with it. I can work it fine, and eventually find the targets but it takes ages and the burns fuel/loiter time! Most other things are OK with the sim in terms of learning curve at this point like air to air refueling etc. I read another thread somewhere saying we're getting a newer version of the targeting pod in the future, and for the moment I'm putting down my lack of quick acquisitions to the blurry screen (maybe shifting the blame from me!). Compared to the A10C I flew a bit years ago, the F/A-18C seems like looking through a lens with vaseline at the end of it ala that Simpons joke! Is it just me? Is it the targeting pod? Are there any tips? Also it seems I have very little time to search, so I set-up the ATC at 220-250kt, and around 20,000ft - and still only can search for short time. I've played around with FLIR and CCD, Narrow/Wide, low and high zoom, also creating waypoints from MGRS to slave the pod to and search from there. I'm debating if this a PC issue too with draw distances etc (specs below), but I can still see vehicles at 35nm - which seems a good range. Opinions welcome!

Thanks Raisuli, You're very generous to offer the help. There's a good few other elements to this project so I'll probably simplify where I can. Thanks though. Sokol1_b4, Thanks that link for the BBI-64 info that's what I'm looking for alright. Thanks guys!

Thanks guys this is great info. I guess the next question, for connecting it to USB for DCS - any tips?

Hi, Where is best place (ideally European, but can be worldwide) to order switches to emulate the COURSE and HEADING switches found above the AMPCD in the F-18 (in the attached image)? I think they're called momentary switches? The go both to the left and right in the aircraft. I'm planning to build them into 3mm flat metal plate, and would appreciate any tips mounting them. Also wondering what boards etc are required to make it a USB input into the computer. Thanks. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=234253&d=1588194569

Cheers, thanks. Not fully familiar with these forums yet.
