  1. Ha! I gave up on the torrent and went to the HTTP and getting a solid 1.0MB DL as well.
  2. thought I would reply to my message after looking in some threads found the answer if having problems use the command prompt and use the DCS_updater update command to update the launcher. . . For example for me when I run the command prompt (push windows + R then type CMD) My command prompt (from her on out CMD) says "C:\Users\xendo>" Then in CMD type CD then the directory to your bin folder for 2.0 mine is located in C:\Flight Sims\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\2.0\bin so in my CMD I would put C:\Users\xendo>CD C:\Flight Sims\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\2.0\bin then it would say "C:\Flight Sims\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\2.0\bin>" (for you it would be your install path) then in CMD type DCS_updater update and it will update the launcher. I wrote this out just in case some are not very computer knowledgeable. As a note. you can use windows explorer to navigate to your install path then in where it would say This PC > Local Drive C> your install path you can single click and copy and paste to the CMD to make it easier. I hope this was clear and helped. perhaps someone could also help if I was as clear as mud but understands the steps. EDIT #2: Perhaps a Moderator can make a sticky about how to do these steps so that others can see it as a sticky, although I know there are those that don't look at sticky's and ask anyway. . I am STILL guilty of doing that in forums. . .
  3. Yea Same here decided to go fishing at 12 CST (6 Pm in London) just got back and still can't download. . . odd. I even tried the DCS_Updater in the bin folder both normal as well as run as admin. . .
  4. Greetings! I have a question about buying the Normandy map. I stumbled onto the Normandy map after coming back to re download DCS since I just got my warthog fixed (took 8 dang months!) Anyhow, can I buy this map without Nevada, or am I going to have to shell $100 for the Normandy map? I am just a little confused about the 2.0 terrain module requirement. Thanks! Xendoshi.
  5. Well I went with the Mi-8mtv2 & Huey. Been playing with the huey, pretty much got it to hover, just need to learn to add the right amount of counter torqe when I lift off and such, belive it or not I have more hard time flying the huey then hovering. I tend to rock side to side enough to make me air sick. . . and it's a simulation. But having a blast havent tried the Mi-8 yet. I also got my trackir 5 today so new toys to play with :D
  6. Ha! I love buttons and switches, The more the merrier, I'm the type that says "Hey what does this do?" followed by "Oh @#$@! TURN IT OFF! TURN IT OFF!!!"
  7. I'll probably go for the Huey, This will tell my age but, I used to love Super Huey and Super Huey 2. . . . :D
  8. Hello to all as this is my first post here!:D Found DCS World today cause of years of MSFS and flying planes I am well, burnt out on planes, (unless it's perhaps a VTOL type like the Osprey) So I am ready for a new challenge, that is flying heilos! from what I've found using Google is that this software gives the most realism. when it comes to helicopters, the rest just kinda fall way short. before I go on I want to acknowledge that the Mi-8 is still being developed. Now from a good simulation view, what is the most realistic simulation? I am kind of drawn to the Huey always loved the Whop Whop sound the blades make, And the fact they served as the medic and troop drop off and pick up. So I know some of the history of the Huey as for the other two (black shark or the Mi-8) I have no idea the history of them. been watching youtube videos and it looks like the Mi-8 has the most complex I have seen when it comes to start up, although haven't looked at the black shark yet. So to keep long post from getting longer, What would you suggest and why? Thanks! Xendoshi
