  1. If it´s not the speed setting, then perhaps it happens because of your weather-settings. I remember same issues in LO. Responsible for this was a driver problem and not the game engine, if my memory serves me right.

    P.S.

    Wollte da ja auch im deutschen Forum was zu schreiben, aber der Fred is ja mal wieder zu. :doh:

  2. I´m somewhat disappointed!

    In 1.01 the Bradley´s now carrying the correct ammount of TOW´s, but they are still launching them in salvos, one after another. (just back from a mission, one Bradley fired all 7 Missiles in about one minute)

    The reload time is still the same. AFAIK it takes at least 3-5 minutes to reload the two tubes.

    I guess, i will have one or two beers with my friend "notepad". :music_whistling:

    cheers

    :beer:

  3. Any thoughts on a Lock On version?

    Does it work with FC1.12a?!

    Unfortunately i dont have the original Lock_on-files anymore. (yah,yah no backup, and so on) :music_whistling:

    Could someone please post a screenshot, showing the stock Flare-effects?

    I tried it with some value-changes in FC1.12a, which will look like this:

  4. yes, but a short disciption would be good with the pic . cos 'new flares' means squat to me... what's different to these and the stock flares?

    Jeez, what can I say. Let me guess.....

    NEW FLARES: they make you go hovering while supercruise. :shocking:

    Man, new flares just means they look different to the actual Flares and to me at least, more realistic.

    FPS Hit? No, i dont think so

    Harder to see? Depends on, where you are

    And last but not least, a comparison:

    BEFORE / AFTER

  5. Where can I download this mod from?

    ATM from nowhere. :D

    Reason is simple. I cant found the old .zip-file on my HD. :music_whistling:

    And also i have continued the tweaking since my last post in this Thread.

    I will collect all the changed Files and put them together in one Modman-pack.

    Example: (notice the firing MLRS Battery in the Background)

  6. oregon coast, thats a nice area there, but no chicks at the beaches to burts by :-P

    sorry this is off topic

    yes, we are off topic, and that´s why:

    we all know, Borchi dislike Chicks! :D

    i´m just joking, no offence!

  7. yeeez, looking at your screenies makes me feel like taken in some dubious substances.

    I guess, these parcels of land are way to small for european conditions. It looks like 500 sqm for corn, 300 sqm for wheat and for the farmers delight 100 sqm of weed. :D

    and i think the colours are a bit too much contrasty.

    just my 2c

  8. Doesnt the most radar guided systems lose the track, if you are below 60 feet? (or 20 m)

    Keyword: "GT.sensor.min_alt_finding_target = 20"

    Whenever i enter an Area, where Radar-guided SAMs are reported, i never climb over 20-30 m and till now i was never shot down by a radar-guided Missile.

    Its a bit different when you face a fighter armed with radar-guided missiles. But even if he were only armed with a few gun rounds or some Zunis, as a heli, you are dead Meat against a AI fighter-jockey. So make sure, either you go into a clear area, or make sure to have a proper CAP above yourself.

    I do not fear any Radar-SAM´s, more problematic are scattered IFV´s and ZU´s, they can kill you at 0m flight altitude.

  9. I´m not very satisfied with this current Changelog. What else will be improved? I mean you mentioned something about 300MB. Seems to me there must be a lot more Changes.

  10. Someone has a real warped sense of Humour..........:smartass:

    25 Sec's of Extreme Agony in the 'Tommy-Cooker' until the explosion puts an end to your troubles :cry: :P

    no one said life is easy :D

    yes there is a way, either you change the level of explosive filling for the vikhr

    warheads["Vikhr"] = cumulative_warhead(4.0);

    located: 1C\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Config\Weapons\warheads.lua

    or increase/decrease the

    chassis.life = 32

    or

    chassis.armour_thickness = 0.080

    for the M1 as you mentioned

    to be found in: 1C\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Database\chassis

    (but this will have an effect to all other weapons, which means for example:

    a T-80 needs more direct Hits to kill an Abrams, so maybe you need to change the shells data too)

    I have changed the explosive filling for the Vikhr to 4.69 kg to achieve a 1 Hit/1 Kill effect for heavy armored Tanks, and i´m happy with this.

    But i dont want to start a discussion about this (one can call it cheating) especially if you use these "optimized" settings in MP. :thumbdown:

  11. Somewhere in LUA files or something?

    For example, making the pre-explosion smoke plume with certain units last a bit longer,

    you have to add this line

    GT_generic.time_agony = 25
    into every single vehicle .lua file you´d like to change.

    location: 1C\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Database\vehicles

    25 is the time in seconds the smokeplume will last until the explosion.

  12. I am. There is in fact narration from the F-15E attack on landed Mi-8's in destert storm; the helicopter was detected and tracked in A2A mode while landed, but its rotor was spinning ... from 50nm.

    The targetting pod was then slaved to the A2A radar, and the actual attack was then conducted using an LGB.

    They SPECIFICALLY mentioned the radar was never taken out of A2A mode ;)

    Found something interesting about this incident.

    http://www.sci.fi/~fta/Day-29.htm

    ... 4th TFW/335th TFS/89-0487 ... Pilot: Capt Richard T. Bennett, WSO: Capt Daniel B. Bakke

    ... Bennett had 4 x GBU-10's (2000 lbs LGB's), 4 x AIM-9's, 2 x Tanks

    ... Wingman had 12 x Mk-82's and 4 x AIM-9's with 2 x Tanks

    ... Journal of Military Aviation, Vol 1/ No 2, Jan/Feb 92, pg 26

    ... Air Force Magazine, Jan 93, pg37.

    ... original mission SCUD CAP in Northwestern Iraq 01:00 to 03:00 am

    ... patrol area from Al Qaim, near the Syrian border, to halfway to Bagdad just beyond H-2 Airfield, then back to the Syrian border.

    ... cloud deck 4,000 to 18,000 feet, orbiting above the weather

    ... 10 to 15 Special Forces Teams were on the ground looking for SCUD's

    ... one team was in trouble, 300 miles across the border

    ... 5 x Iraqi Helicopters were in the area, 50 nm to the west of the F-15E's

    ... put formation in 4 nm trail and did a FLIR let down below the weather

    ... FLIR got contacts, confirmed AWACS calls (AWACS call sign "COUGAR")

    ... AWACS gave "Cleared-to-Fire", confirmed no friendlies

    ... Let down to 2500 ft, below the weather, and at 15 to 20 nm, WSO had FLIR contact with Lead chopper in a wedge or "vic" formation

    ... ID'ed as HIND Attack Helicopters, dropping off troops against Special Forces

    ... planned to hit the Lead Helicopter with GBU-10 while he was on the ground

    ... ran-in at 600 to 700 knots, low and started lasing the Helo at 4 nm

    ... at bomb release the helo lifted off and climbed, bomb killed helo

    ... hit in lift-off from hover at about 100 kts..... KILL

    ... instructed Wingman to put 3 x Mk-82's in same area to kill troops

    ... momentary scare that they might have hit friendly helo

    ... went back down to et remaining helo's but had bombs dropping around them

    ... Special Forces Team was extracted

    ... continued CAP and dropped on 1 x SCUD launchpad

    Only FLIR, special forces on the ground and AWACS is mentioned. No APG-70 Radar. ;)

    just wanted to throw in that.

  13. Hard why? Only if there was a mountain/hill inbetween.

    No, because in a desert are only few streets (few cars), few trees, few buildings, and the terrain is pretty flat. So a single helicopter with running rotors is just on the display.

    And the point isnt proved for me! At least not in BS environment. :no:

    Aaaaaand out!!

  14. There is in fact narration from the F-15E attack on landed Mi-8's in destert storm; the helicopter was detected and tracked in A2A mode while landed, but its rotor was spinning ... from 50nm.

    They SPECIFICALLY mentioned the radar was never taken out of A2A mode ;)

    I didnt read any article about this incident, but if this really happened, i would guess it was only possible because of the flat desert terrain.

    Hardly to believe the APG-70 would perform the same way in european environments. :smartass:

  15. In real life if your rotor's spinning a modern PD radar will paint you and you'll an AMRAAM target. The APG-63/68/70/73/77/80 are all capable of this.

    I´m not so sure about this.

    1. Rotorblades are made of some kind of carbon stuff (low reflection)

    2. One Blade runs forward, other backwards (only one blade at a time gives you a reflection, the other will be filtered out because of interferences)

    3. What about cars and Trucks with spinning wheels?

    I still believe, only the relative movement over ground, together with the RCS can be detected by Pulse-Doppler-Radars. And that means, there must be a minimum speed over ground that must be higher than a moving car can run.

    Anyway, I have to ask a former comrade next weekend. :smartass:

  16. I was being passive aggressive.

    I guess so, just was not sure.

    t_acc = 0.5,

    t_marsh = 30.0,

    exhaust = tail_solid,

    on the right track

    I was on a shooting range (15 years ago :music_whistling: ), where some "marders" launched some MILAN -missiles. Did not see much of a Trail!!
