Off topic but I thought you guys would appreciate it. :) http://digg.com/video/fighter-jet-video-compilation?utm_content=buffer19c71&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Siming without clutter :) Yes I do but my wife makes me put my controllers away when I'm done with them. :)

Hey I found a perfect fix to the limited positional tracking with the DK2. Like many of you I can't get more than 5 feet away from the camera for positional tracking because my desk is against the wall and only a few feet deep. Instead of going further back I went up and it worked really well. Amazing the difference it made. Now I can't loose tracking no matter how much I move. Now to hide the wires so it doesn't look so bad. :)

Unfortunately I think the zoom function is disabled when using the rift.

Hey, I'd be happy to share any config files. I didn't do anything special though. I set it up as 1920x1080 with AA on. Same config I used for the DK1. It's actually clearer for me in the Rift too. The pictures are much blurrier than what I see when flying.

Yes, that stuttering is when I get out of the field of view of the camera. It then jumps back once it finds the rift again. The FOV of the camera is an issue Oculus mentioned they were improving and it needs it. It's not hard to go outside the view of the camera. I wonder if some kind of wide angle lens would help? Once you figure out the bounds of the camera you get used to it though. I am also too close to the camera so it would probably be better if I moved further back.

Yeah it's still uploading I guess. Give it a few minutes and it should be there. Update: Video is now up and working. Ignore the audio. :)

Good Idea. :) Submitted.

Here's a quick video looking around the cockpit. The pictures and video look worse than it does when you are actually looking through the rift. https://vimeo.com/102079754

Here's a better shot of the left MFD.

Oculus Rift Support Thread Ok so I spent some time with my DK2 and DCS today and here's my quick review. First I should say I have had a DK1 from the beginning and have tried just about every demo and game available up till now. VR has become an obsession :). First off the screen door effect for me is pretty much gone. What's left isn't as much a screen door but a subtle texture to everything. I don't notice it at all anymore while it was really obvious on the DK1 so I'm really happy with how it turned out. I was worried based on all the sub pixel discussions that I'd be disappointed. The only thing that's weird is white text has a rainbow effect around it. That is partially because the chromatic abberation with the new lenses and partially because of the pentile screen. The good news is I found the displays and gauges readable now. Since I can now lean in I can pretty much read everything. The only exception is the HUD. As you lean in it doesn't get bigger making it always hard to read. One of the coolest things is now being able to look out the window and sit-up and see the nose of the plane! The only strange side effect is you can push your face right through the dash. :) All in all it's amazing! I still need labels to see enemy fighters but otherwise it is so incredibly immersive.

I'll try it on Tuesday when my DK2 arrives if we don't get a fix before then
-
Mine arrives Tuesday! I have to work but will rush home in time for UPS to try it. I'll post my experience later Tuesday if no one else does before me. I've been using DK1 with DCS for a while so I can give a good description of the differences between the two.
