This pit looks much sharper than the default. P.S. Is it me, or are there finger marks on the ABRIS screen? :)

It could be that you were using TIR with a custom profile. I use the default profile in both DCS and FF5, and it works like a charm. The key for efficient use is to understand that the thing isn't working in a linear manner.

At what resolution does the 17" operate? 1024*768? -

This is one sick setup... Are you using TH2GO or SoftTH? -

I wasn't aware that there are "overlay touch panels". This is quite cool! Imagine spending lots of money on a 3-screen array, where all screens are touch-sensitive. -
Embarassed to ask: how do I "win" a campaign?
advent_m replied to advent_m's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well, I've got it after a few more attempts. I've come to a conclusion that I must get an on-screen message stating I've exterminated the objective. -
I've played the "Third Georgian Oil War" for a number of times. I liquidated the C&C vehicles at the target point, and got a message on my screen stating that. On my way back to base I was shot down. :D How the hell do I "win" this campaign and stop getting sad music and a pic of a crashed Shark?

spyda's post was the solution. Thanks for your help guys.

For a number of times, during gameplay, my screen automatically goes to "standby" mode. When it does that, DCS gets stuck, and I'm unable to Alt-Tab to Vista. I know how to configure my auto standby, but I don't want to turn it off completely, or having to re-enable it every night. Is there a solution for my problem?

I haven't missed that message. I'm using Vista HP 64-bit, and MM isn't installed in Program Files. Any ideas, Skypat?

The Anti-Multimonitor-touchbuddy movement
advent_m replied to advent_m's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Actually, you guys pointed to employment methods of the apps mentioned above that I haven't thought of. When I mentioned multimonitor, I meant using a second (or more) montior for the Shkval\ABRIS. This is unreal for me because that real pilot doesn't have a hi-res monitor dedicated to those instruments, but zooms in with his physical head to see the monitors, like I do with my TIR4. When I mentioned VAC, I was relating to a youtube video some guy posted here, where he demonstrated controlling the entire game oraly, which IMO is the opposite goal of the DCS concept. Using VAC as a radio-mimicing-thing-only sounds quite good actually. -
I used ModMan 7.1.1.0 to install these add-ons: -Slovak digital camo skin -Ancient runways -Scratch & Dust mod None of them work, but I followed the instructions in each mod. What am I doing wrong?

Hey you guys. Over the past months, I've seen many cool stuff on the net that make a twist on the simming experience, such as multimonitor setup, Touchbuddy, Voice Activated Commands and so on. Am I the only one disliking these enhancements? IMO, they take away from the realism. No Ka-50 pilot can control the helo using his voice, or a magic "do-it-all" pad which contains all of the common & vital contorl switches. Your take?

Just marking the 'full screen' in the options menu gave me at least 10 fps increase in all viewing modes. I'm using DCSMax 1.4 with GF8800GT and C2D E6550 @ 2.33 GHz.

Thanks.

I tried to find an answer in this forum, but was left empty handed.

What's the difference between DCSMax and other affinity tools? Does it provide the best performance boost?

I discovered today that I'm unable to use all available radio commands in BS, since the keys F9 & F12 are bound to the TIR4 software. I explored it, and I found how to change the bound keys, but it won't recognize advanced binds like LAlt+RCtrl+RWin+F9. Has anyone came across a smooth way to make the two things work together?
-
I have the latest version installed, and the game appears in the "Profiles" list in the TIR software. What am I missing? And yes, when I'm flying something, the blue LED on the tracker lights up (the thing works fine in DCS and Open Falcon).

The "V" on IDF vehicles is never yellow and slant. It is used for a different purpose than the IAF "V".

About the paint scheme - got it. About the rotor blades - after another inspection, I would like to correct myself: all helos EXCEPT the Cobra have black rotor blades. The Cobra has tan blades. Please see the CH-53 photo in this page, dated June 29th 2006. A lot can change in 15 years...

1. OK. 2. The font looks great, but I was pointing to a fact that you might want to consider to maintain the high level of realism. 3. I should have pointed out that all helos used today by the IAF have black rotor blades. 4. The photos are of an old Bell 205. All of those were retired circa 1976 and replaced by newer Bell 212 (seen in the background, painted brown). That camo scheme was never used again after that period of time. Today, either a helo is painted entirely brown or entirely black or in a tan-brown camo mix.
