  1. also, code one, semper viper is a really good read, it's on the f16 but general principle still apply, especially how to get out of a flat spin, it's like learning the swing... let me check if i'm remembering correctly. you must first cancel the rotation, to do so, you must stop the thrust because it further amplify the spin sometimes second, you must roll the aircraft in the opposite direction of the spin rotation, for exemple if the aircraft spin clockwise (flat spin aircraft not inverted) roll port (left), the plane is then configured like an air brake against rotation (30-60° bank) if it worked and there enough space left in the vertical, you still can get stucked in a 60° stable aoa, but there is an escape, that's were memory of the swing principle is usefull. The plane oscillate slightly in pitch. To amplify this movement you must act in the opposite direction when at the highest amplitude, that is pull the stick when the plane arrive at the max nose up and push the stick when at the min nose down, like a swing, when there's enough momentum you can bring the aircraft in a 0° aoa that is as you're falling to the ground full nose toward the ground ! I'm sure i'll be corrected severely if i'm wrong! merry christmas!
  2. That's pretty simple, as in combat you trim the aircraft so that it is neutral in his ballpark speed, near it's corner speed, in the 600/800 km/h, the plane stay straight when the stick is released in the center but the trim is so that there is no margin when you push the stick. So what happens it's that if your losing speed in the vertical for example then a slight push is indeed a big one compare to a configuration with your su27 trimmed at 300/400 So you must push very slightly and you should prefer to pull the stick instead, that is quick roll and pull instead of push. To help you can reset trim CTRL+T For engine stall, RTFM ! I did but forgot, from memory it's throttle to idle (plane recovered so that air is feeding approprietly the engine) and to 100 noafterburner or something like this, RTFM as i said :pilotfly:
  3. I've got the cockpit view that goes crazy and turn very fast when using SHift+R with the SU27. That's a shame because to restart a mission like this is much faster than "fly again"...
  4. you still can succeed with bvr missile at close range in being in lead pursuit, puting the missile on a collision course at the launch
  5. When you switch to hms mode it default to optical tracking, so if you fire a radar guided missile.... you must put the radar on every time another possible reason, you fired a medium range missile that have different caractéristiques (heavier less manoeuvrable) than the r73 archer AA11 which is designed specifically for high off boresight short distance manoeuvers. Designed for that purpose it is lighter (less fuel) and less slick that is more dragy but it can pull much more g's. R27ET for exemple is designed to kill at 15 to 50 kms, so it is designed to flight straight initially and fast when a firing solution has been obtained usually at the border of the enveloppe. The r73 turn and accelerate at the same time, if you were firing medium range missile high off boresight like an r73 it would be 3times more heavy, it's already 350 kg each, that is 2 missiles weight 1 small car. you are throwing literally car against planes in the air.... voila... the basic reasons...
  6. Also, i realised that when i activate the radar some information that i had from awacs or ewr like range and aspect of target dissapear when they use jamming. It's logical that the hud present the jammed marker to indicate the launch state but for Situation Awarness that's stupid. The speed and altitude given by the relative size of icon is also a stupid thing, i can't believe it, then no info relative to the volume scanned by the radar as in the F15 at the cursor position... are they so stupid really ? no aoa protection for negative g and nose down, revert and you fall like an autumn leaf... ? Depending on trim the amount of input that put you in this often unrecoverable position is different... the rwr that ring when someone else is locked ? or when you receive friendly radars? Really to be a russian pilot against us or european fighter needs a lot of courage... or suicide ambition...
  7. I don't have those carets as shown on this image
  8. Yes of course, when in range or at least in a good rear hemisphere position you need the radar guided aiming reticle on the hud so the radar for non russian mig29 and su27. But AI activate from very far away giving me there intent where i shouldn't even know one bogey was there. In a furball many vs many which i like to practice, you can suddenly disengage a target to follow a better one, opportunity, or attack from under or over the target being unnoticed. When AI do so, my sispeo is crying even telling me in which direction to break ! That's strange because sometimes my wingman telling me to check my six is usefull... maybe the blackout zone of the SPO15.
  9. There's a flaw. AI uses radar when dogfighting with canon telling me hey i'm in your six ! there is an option in the editor to force it off but then i assume they will never use it... even with missile...
  10. For the launch alert i thought the beam becomes narrower, 30° is quit big and 5 to 10 km away. But if it is the way it worked then it is very good of course. I'm not complaining, just try to understand the state of the art at the time. And the f18 like the f15 had multi-lock capability which is not the case of the flanker so tactically locking every ennemy in the furball is the right thing to do... keep them busy... while attacking one by one... And for the 27ER, the signal return is affected by distance so it is very likely indeed that such behavior occured. I mean, signal strenght from the wrong bogey was of course weaker but the distance information could still come from the locked bogey. Well i don't know much on those systems but as i'm thinking about it it's the plane radar that "decide" which target to hit, i could imagine that the leader was then unreachable so that missile was reassigned but i doubt that this level is of sophistication is implemented. The leader was breaking left (toward the menace increasing offboresight, the good behavior), the one that i had a lock on while his wingman was breaking right on a more easy path for my missile. That's just that i like to kill leader first, i think it's the more dangerous one.
  11. During a mission one of my 27ER missile fired from su27 searched and it the wingman of the target i had a lock on (on). It is a SARH missile right ? the 27ET is the IR one ? there was 10 to 20 degres between the two target. Maybe it's right, the missile was close when it acquired the wrong target and i was not far behind chasing cold bogey so radar waves could have enough energy. AI target are incredibly passive when locked from close distance within dlz, they react only at launch, sometimes for lunch... to late... i eat it... Another thing, my Sispeo beryosa ringed when a launch from an f18 was concerning another friendly 30 degrés to my azimuth (as viewed from the attacker). Well to put this in relation to the first fact (my 27ER it the wrong target) it's consistent... radar waves seems to be hard to focus.
  12. Very true, i killed myself many times with this behavior, unbelievable, a very small input at low to medium speed forward and bang !! As if the fly by wire control loop system had suddenly disengage. It doesn't fall very quickly in that position but to get out of it you must pull the stick to gain speed toward the ground... need to be at a certain altitude when it happend. Needless to say in a fight you're dead.
  13. No prob, i know sispeo(SPO) is a robot, wingmen is human(hence the mistake) and awacs is a coward very far away from the front line. I had almost forgotten the DCS world, been in the bms falcon (incredible also) and i must say... time has made something promising a blast, what an experience sometimes... hard to believe... A gtx 970 msi made a big difference also, although there are always compromise with those soft and a bit of tuning. But the feeling to understand the tactics of modern air warfare is really unbelievable. I tried other mission and didn't encounter the false bearing report, maybe that was a bogey under ma radar cone don't know... the air combat is really another thing with an awacs, it's a big light, we know how many bandits there are when in the furball, less unknowns... it's easier to discriminate the false alarm and know what's going on... but what an unfair advantage with the us planes/systems versus russian ones... Well that's not totally true, because when you can reach the Within Visual Range, this offboresight helmet mounted cueing system with the R73 archer is really an advantage. But surviving the Beyond Visual Range is quiet hard, trying to get in the visual with EO systems coming from six o'clock. I got to figure out how i did it, i came behing 3 f18 and one f15 by surprise although they have awacs to, shot 2 with 27ET and killed the F15 in the furball while excaping the missiles of the F18 and letting him behind with a bingo fuel. That was intense... but shouldn't happen. maybe they were returning home with few missiles left, i took the chance and i fill like maverick... stupid of me...
  14. Is it the bullseye way ? My wingman reporting is close to me, his heading to the target is the same as me. Well i guess it must be the bullshit thing, i need a secretary to do the nav no time to calculate it's war ! i've got to act quickly even wrongly, i've been killed by this stupid wingman the other day, this guy is jerry lewis, bad humor really...
  15. It should report bearing range and altitude of bandits, the bearing is always false, sometimes it reports contacts which are behind giving range, i can't do that... with the RWR spo15 beryoza... this thing is a nightmare, unable to make the distinction between friendly/foe a nightmare I know now it's false with an awacs reporting all contacts. AI gps and compas seems destroyed or jammed !! Is there a command to tell the wing man shut up your drunk !!?
