I'm having issues getting an 2 Mi-8 AI helos to embark infantry and drop them off at the specified LZ point.
First, these helicopters start at a farp in the takeoff from ramp position. In the SP waypoint, the action Embarking is added so that troops can embark the helos while they are still on the ground in the FARP. The Infantry all have proper embark actions setup and are properly binded to their helos. When I test this I see the infantry embark the helos no problem.
However, the issue comes after the ai helos have started up and take off - they refuse to follow the waypoint flight route and land at the lz I specified (also done using Land action on waypoint 1).
What happens is: they take off, fly 200m from the FARP, then turn around and land at the farp - the troops then jump out, and then they climb to 100m and hover there indefinitely - they never go through their waypoints.
I'm assuming they still think the embarking task is not finished, but I don't know how to get them to proceed to the next task once the infantry have been loaded. Is there a way to have the infantry preloaded inside the helos at mission start?
Also, how do I create a specific flight route that the Helos have to follow before dropping off the infantry at the LZ? From what I've read, the ai will simply fly straight to the lz point, ignoring their route until they return back to their embarking point. Is there a way to change this behaviour?
If someone has a mission example showing how this is done I would really appreciate it. I want to build a ka50 mission where the player is tasked with meeting the transports at the farp, radio-ing in to the flight to take off, then escort them along the flight path until the LZ, where the transports drop the infantry off, and continue flying their flight path back to base.
Any help would be great.
