Dear all, please mind the rules, including but not limited to 1.15.

I understand that other older games had things we would like, but I also know that if we made 90's quality versions of those items you would be even more upset with us. It might be ok for a free mod, but not DCS. So we will take our time and do the very best we can. I would suggest you look top the DCS: Supercarrier for ATC improvements and the direction we want to travel.

    Thanks all!

Sorry for the rudeness, but that guy deserved it and started it in the first place!, I simply replied to his comment. I think a warning is a bit much, my first in 10years here, but ok.

AnyhowI will actually buy that Supercarrier this weekend, when x-mas break starts here at Boeing. Sounds like what I’m after as far as ATC goes.

Last but not least; not upset with ED, was just pointing out a few fundamental issues, no disrespect meant!  DCS is a very awesome piece of work, I just hoping for a few things to happen.

    good day!

  2. Yea, remember that flight sim scam 15-20years ago called Hangar-18, some crap like that. Screens kinda looked amazing for it’s day, and people paid for access to Hangar-18 for full updates and first look; well there never was a first look, they took whatever monies they pulled from folks and quickly left the building lol.

Yes, we are lucky that ED is full on, high fidelity flight simming, and looks great too. They need to get the ATC and ATO working though- I mean F4/BMS has had a full working ATC and ATO for damn near 25years. I use to get put in line as like number 10-12 in takeoff orders at times the airport was so busy. Then inbound would usually get an orbit position instead of clear-to-land for the same reason; and once it’s your turn ATC contacts you with CTL vectors. Plus, if you dial into the airport freq, you can hear ATC talking to all the a/c it’s handling…quite impressive and amazing!! It’s a real working airport and ATC!

Come on ED, let’s get ‘er done already! Such a fine sim w broken ATC, pathetic wingman commands and zero ATO.

EDIT: of course you can’t have ATO w/out a dynamic campaign 😳 but for the love of all that’s holy, fix the ATC and wing commands…simple things like ‘declare fuel’, ‘status’, drop tanks, ‘contacts’, etc.

Still, love DCS! Keep it up Ed!!

    Good day!

I think he is talking about use of Altitude hold only.

Alt hold works, so does Att hold, which is on the pitch switch, which also activates the AP.

He has to set roll switch as well, which I’d bet a dollar to a donut that he is default setting which is heading, not steer point (roll switch full down for steer point, not centered).

Again, F16 AP is fully functional and no issues. Def pilot error. I can fly all waypoints hands off, if necessary.

I fly the Tomcat most of the time and I hadn't flown the F-16 in awhile until tonight, but I ran into a problem that I don't remember having before. The plane will not stop rolling left or right and I cannot focus on any AG workload without constantly trimming or rolling for corrections because AP does not stop the roll. I have watched several videos over the last 4 hours and my AP switches and settings are 100% correct.

AP in the F-14 is a breeze and 100% reliable compared to the F-16, which is very surprising.

Is it really that unsteady IRL? I find that hard to believe. It's done my head in to the point I'm about to buy the F-15E just to do AG missions in peace.

Using an X-56 with zero roll issues in other aircraft. Any outside the box ideas before I give up on this bird?

The AP works just fine, I use it daily 😉

You probably have it set to course/heading and not altitude/attitude.  I have absolutely no issues with it.

EDIT: you also have to set desired roll setting, not just pitch setting.

  5. Hello there,

I just purchased your DLC, it looks like a lot of fun, but I can't get it to install, I get an error "Unknown Module - Ground Pounder Sims F-16 First In Weasles Over Syria campaign".  Any idea what that issue is?

    Below is the log.

    Thanks!

  6. TTI = 15 or 16 seconds is when it SHOULD go pitbull, but that's not how it works right now because the current missile API cannot support that logic. Right now it's using an older version of the AIM-120 guidance logic and goes pitbull at a specified range 11.5 miles (18.5km)... NOT time to impact. Again, this is confirmed many times by Heatblur.

    Ok, thanks for the explanation.

  7. I thought when TTI hits 16 sec, and start flashing, that's when AIM-54 goes pitbull; is this incorrect?

Wonder if I wait longer to extend I'll have higher hit ratio - I usually extend at 16 sec (TTI) and typically launch at <40nm.and end up with roughly 50% hit ratio.

  8. Yes. It’s the best peripheral ever made for flight sims. And the money, for my own preference is vastly worth the quality and not having to deal with DIY. It’s rather impossible to play the sim well relying on keys for simply looking around and then losing real HOTAS commands for them. And 6DOF is more than just turning your head but the ability to look and lean around obstructions etc.

Without head tracking flight simulation just wouldn’t be fun at all, it would be awkward and frustrating.

Try it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

^^This right here! Well worth the money, and get the pro-clip if you can. I have both the pro-clip and hat clip; the hat clip is ok, but not as precise as the pro-clip for headphones. The interface in fantastic and once you get the curves properly set it's so natural to look around.

    Good luck!

  9. Yes, me too! I think the best module to date.

I was skeptical and purchased the F/A-18. The F-14 being a bit older and steam gauges everywhere, but after the F-14B free trial, I was hooked totally and 100%. Haven't touched the 18 since.

I do really enjoy the Huey too, alot! But right now the F-14 is my go to.

  10. Thanks guys. Yes, I turned off the windows USB power management in device mangler, just incase.

I should have done the Win update check first, instead of last! Although I've been meaning to clean out of DCS file, so I guess there's that.

But as of yet, looks like all is well.

  11. My issue with the USB ports is solved - thus far! No USB crashes.

Seems it was a very large Windows-10 update, which took about 3 hours to DL and install. Once Windows rebooted my computer several times, I logged in and Windows started to auto update my USB ports and plugins and installed my Warthog and other peripherals.

Anyhow, thanks for your help gentlemen!

    Good day,

  12. Good day everyone,

So a recent issue just manifest itself whereby while in DCS my 3.0 USB ports will just turn off, killing my head tracking and HOTAS and anything else plugged in. 2.0 USB are not affected, although I have only a few 2.0 ports. This happens in the non-beta Steam version.

I just uninstalled/reinstalled the Steam and stand alone versions to no avail. The stand alone was having same issue but not as prevalent. I made sure that power management turned off in Device Mangler, ect.

No changes, no installs, just all of a sudden as of last evening out of nowhere.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Good day,

    DrDetroit

  13. You can delete the helo if you don't mind messing with it in the mission editor. Weird that you don't see any waypoints for it, but I do (but it behaves like it has no waypoints). Something is screwy with it, so I updated the campaign a week ago and changed it from a CH-53 to an SH-60. With the updated mission, the SH-60 takes off and actually follows the waypoints.

It's pure eye candy, so if you just delete it nothing bad will happen to the mission. Or you can download the updated campaign (a few other things are tweaked, too).

    Sorry for the hassle!

Hey, thanks for the quick heads up! I'll grab the latest....I must have downloaded the older version.

No hassle at all! Thanks for your work.

  14. I'm having an issue with Mission-2. During cold start, a helo flies in (MH-53 maybe?) and land right on cat-3 runway, so my wingman can't take off.

I took a quick look at it in ME and didn't see any waypoints for the helo, so assume it's a script or trigger.

    Kind of a bummer lol.

    Good day,

  15. I don't really see where that 1.5 seconds claim is in the article and I've never heard of that either. I could have overseen it though.

But I'm pretty sure that F-16 pilots train to hold 9Gs for an extended period, 15-30 seconds? (Someone please correct me on this)

There is no doubt that RL F-16 pilots are trained to withstand 9Gs for way longer than 1,5 seconds.

Actually, my bad....it talks about g-limiters that limit pilot to about 9g IN 1.5 seconds...not FOR 1.5 seconds.

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but 9G for 30 seconds seems waaay too long, but maybe you are correct. Seems would be more like 5-10 seconds at 9X gravity.
