I already have DCS 1.5 plus a couple of aircraft. Q1 If I download DCS 2, must I purchase the Nevada map before being able to buy and run the Normandy map? Q2 Will aircraft purchased for DCS1.5 also load into DCS2? Thanks

Coming from other sims like X-Plane and P3D, I'm used to using a yoke, and don't currently own a flight stick. I'm finding the Spitfire REALLY hard to fly, never mind master. Would I find it any easier with a decent stick? I do have pedals, although even with sensitivity turned really low, I still find the rudder VERY quickly overpowers the Spit. Any and all suggestions most welcome:pilotfly:

Hi Guys I haven't used DCS much. After a new motherboard, I had reinstall EVERYTHING (yuk!) Now, after logging in with DCS, I can't see a way of reinstalling the Spitfire I purchased direct (not through Steam). The Spitfire icon is not active. No doubt this is very simple, but I just can't see it:-( Cheers

So the server has to have the same aircraft that I want to fly?

But thats exactly what i'm getting at, where and when do I select the plane? I do not seem to be getting the option. I just flew a quick 'Instant Action' Flight, so the Spit is working, so are the default aircraft. Its only when selecting Multiplayer, i dont see the option to select:cry:

Trust me - its not a stupid question where im concerned, but yes i do click on Fly. It takes me to the server, but NOT in an aircraft

Thanks Worked out the mods issue which gives me a GREEN shield, but still can't arrive (spawn?) on a server in an aircraft though. I do appreciate your patience guys. I'm brand new to ANY kind of online gaming AND Teamspeak. Have installed it and attempt to work out how to connect;-) Thanks I THINK i've attached a pic of what I get;-)

Also, many of the servers refuse to connect, stating that 'Pure Client' is required. Is this something I need to install?

Many thanks for the feedback. I have purchased both DCS and the new Spitfire, but nothing shows in the briefing screen at all - its empty. So i'm guessing it maybe what Maveric said about servers. Did try all the F keys. Could ONLY switch between other user aircraft. Other than simply trying all the servers one by one, perhaps someone could recommend one for this purpose? As huge as the manual is, its not very helpful for complete beginners. Hopefully that will develop in time?

Hi guys I'm new to DCS and struggling. I could really do with some very basic help... For now, all I want to do, is place myself at an airfield online, watching what's happening. I can connect to a listed 'free flight' or 'aerobatic' server, but only it seems, as a spectator. I can see no means of actually getting there in an aircraft. Do i have to create a mission to do this? Please be patient - i'm not very well:confused: :cry:

Are those packs for v1.5? The instructions seem to refer to a different file structure.

We all have to start somewhere;-) Having NEVER flown online in nearly 20yrs of simming, is there a DCS server where I can login simply to watch you guys flying Aerobatics etc, without everyone trying to shoot each other out the sky;-) Thought I'd seen a Youtube video of this, but can't see it in the list.

Still haven't even got off the ground yet in DCS:-) I'm 'feeling my way' around the settings and controls etc. TBH, i find it quite a challenge before even taking to the sky;-) I have no idea where to set the video settings. Should i just use the generic presets, or should i crank everything up until i notice a performance drop?? Although the aircraft is sharp and crisp, the outside textures seem really 'vague' and sort of, out of focus. Maybe that's just how they are? Do I just need to stop making comparisons with other sims?

Only just discovered DCS World, although been simming with FSX and earlier versions for years. Is there by chance, any BASIC instructional documents anywhere for DCS? Maybe a PDF somewhere that I'm not seeing? Would like to setup my flight controllers and button functions etc. Or is it very much 'suck it and see' ;-)
