  1. You can access list_indication from within Hook like this:
    local function executeLuaIn(env, lua)
local ret, success = dostring_in(env, lua)
        if success then
            return ret or success, nil
        else
            return nil, ret
        end
    end
    local indication, error = executeLuaIn('export', 'return list_indication(0)')
Try it when you're in multiplayer but not the host and pretty sure it doesn't work then from my last test

It will work in single player or multiplayer if you're the host.

  2. no TR in A10CII

    Hi folks,

I have a SRS issue with the latest SRS 2.0.8.8 and the latest DCS Open Beta: I cannot talk in the A10CII, my buttons don't seem to be recognized. I can hear others alright, but I cannot speak, I don't get the "TR" next to the channel and also don't hear the Tx sound effect when I press the radio buttons which I defined in SRS. These are the same buttons I use for ages and the same SRS installation I have for ages and they have worked in the past. If I change aircraft, into the F16 for example, same DCS server, staying connected to the same SRS server, not fiddling around with the SRS settings, transmitting works, I see the "TR" and also hear the Tx effect. So must be some kind of special A10CII issues.

    Thx
Have a look at the SRS patch notes for the latest version, that's covered there

And from the SRS discord for @Captain Orso :

    **Aircraft Controls and Specific features**

To see what each aircraft in DCS supports - and how your settings in SRS affect those features - see the help feature.

Go to the SRS Radio overlay - and hit the ? mark.

Each SRS integration for each aircraft is unique, and SRS always strive to add as much of the real functionality of the aircraft as possible.

For example, the f14 has the ability to have zero binds in SRS and do it entirely through DCS

The other extreme is the f15c, which as a non clickable module has no DCS binds or even cockpit interaction

SRS out of the box with default settings will enable the special aircraft features if they are available, such as hot mic or radio switch controls in cockpit

Always allow SRS hotkeys does exactly this - it means whatever the integration level is with that aircraft (in cockpit radio select or not) - the SRS controls will always work, disabling the DCS incockpit controls

Take the UH1, you switch radios using the central console radio selector in cockpit. If you don't want to use that you'd enable always allow SRS hotkeys, meaning the radio switch is controlled by SRS hotkeys, not DCS ones.

Some people want the physical interaction with the cockpit, some just want ease of communication and aren't so bothered by the physical modelling/ system in the cockpit. With all the SRS settings both sides can have it work as they want

As it can be confusing, SRS has the helper, accessed via the SRS radio overlay, opened on the SRS program by clicking ?

That window explains how the aircraft is currently integrated, and as you change settings in SRS, you'll see the helper window update it's info.

For more support use Discord as or others can help, but hope that helps both of you!

So I had a problem with the mod today on multiplayer servers with SRS. Basically each radio but the UHF while in the UH60 is fixed on a frequency and there is no way to change that frequency with the in-game controls. I.e. the controls in cockpit work and the frequency displayed on the aircraft radios is correct (e.g. FM 30.000 or VHF 126.500) but in SRS they are all the same (in the two server I visited those were 200.000 and 305.000).

It is like if the frequency is set by the server for every radio and cannot be changed, but the UHF. I asked at least another player on the server and they were having the same problem.

Any idea what could be the cause?

Also, this might be an SRS problem so I guess @Ciribobmight be interested?

    EDIT: Screenshot added

It's a mod issue, that's the frequency SRS is given by the module.

The module would need an update to fix

  4. Ok, but looks like kind of issue is present. Signal of beacon is intermittent. The sound works ok, but the arrow on the gauge for beacon (as a trigger zone) shows different position (maybe there's no time to turn back, direction shows well only sometimes) or it doesnt work. The signal is interrupted I suppose (tested on UH-1). Default (from the map) ADF works ok and it's fixed.
Hmm it should repeat every 30 seconds. I'll try and have a look at some point soon

    No, nothing personal.

    A) Any crash, disconnect during a mission where their mission/game/system has ANY 3rd party apps or mods - those are instantly the first to blame.
    B) There have been many issues with setting it up / bindings and not enough buttons / switches (depending on hardware) for using in-game radio menus and SRS and trying to walk some of them through it is like herding cats. Esp when to do so is holding everyone else up.
    C) If someone is out of date and it causes a problem then things 'kick off'. Trying to get everyone on the same software, with the correct bindings / setup / config, and without anyone crashing / lagging / disconnecting is virtually impossible. So then every cries 'Vanilla!' and everything non-vanilla has to go.
    D) Uninstalling SRS often has left behind things that screws stuff up e.g. When the F14 Radio Menu stops responding to mouse clicks because the uninstaller didn't delete a file and folder. That bug took two months to track down.
    E) Most don't want to use the in-game radios because they were real pilots and just like we don't want to do cold starts - we only have a short time to play together and we've all started real aircraft with real checklists, the 'attraction' to that is pointless after a while. We don't see the need to mess around with on-screen buttons to change freqs, when in a real cockpit you can just reach out and quickly tweak a knob, in a 'game' it's a PITA. So TS or Discord suit everyone fine and we don't have to worry about needless comms channels. We want to get to the meat and leave the decorative parsley off the plate.

    Fair enough!

^ this though, there's no way SRS can conflict with any module.

The installer leaves behind the SRS config file in program files, but nothing in any DCS folder and SRS specifically uses the saved games folder so as not to conflict. It's why it's not flagged by DCS IC so you can cross off one reason off the list 😃

For SRS though you can also use it with just two buttons. Next radio and PTT

Just enable always allow SRS hotkeys and disable allow DCS PTT and it'll work for every module in the same way with just next radio to switch and PTT to talk

The rest, not much I can help with I'm afraid

  6. Does anyone know how retransmission works with lotatc? And what objects can retransmit?
Retransmission works on the client, so SRS will retransmit from where ever your location is.

You can set your location in LotATC

It's simulates you receiving it, then sending it out again

  7. I had no idea CiriBob :)...  Thank you...  From your perspective is there anything then that you can't do with SRS compared to a built in solution?  Just the weather then??

Weather is doable, that's listed in the mission

There a many things I can't do, the main one being cockpit indicators - i.e on a MFD an indication of a transmission. That requires core changes and I would guess comes as default with EDs implementation

  8. @Dangerzone
Also I forgot...  With the integrated stuff you could tune into someone else's freq and hear them (even on the other side) unless they've enabled encryption...  and you could jam comms with the right aircraft...
Lots of cool stuff if the comm system is integrated.
SRS supports that, as well as line of sight and distance (but it's up to the server owner)

  9. For the Huey in SRS

    Enable always allow SRS hotkeys.
Disable allow in cockpit DC's PTT
Enable radio switch works as PTT

This is the least realistic setup but the most user friendly

This will work the same as per the f16, f16 etc

For this you need 4 binds
Radio 1-3 and intercom in SRS

As I said above though - the help screen in SRS will help explain this.

    Hello
Any advice to get this excellent job working on a dedicated server?
I have tried everything they have indicated:

    Change UAC permissions
    Sanitize
And check the paths many times

If I use my PC as a server it works perfect; but if I upload it to a dedicated one, I don't get a result with text or mp3 audio.

Any help I would really appreciate

    Thanks

You likely need to enable sound on the dedicated server and install the media pack for Windows

Try playing an MP3 on a server  with windows media player as a test

  11. SRS for the hind is only the first pass

The SRS keybinds in SRS are used for selecting the radio or intercom, and for the push to talk.

Frequencies and volumes are still set in cockpit though as usual

Check the overlay in SRS to see your selected radios and frequencies

  13. no those two are definitely off
Please send a screenshot of the SRS settings in DCS page and the SRS settings

Please also supply clientlog.txt from the SRS folder and the dcs logs folder from saved games/dcs/logs as a zip.

You'll need to provide the logs after you have had SRS autolaunch and autoconnect

SRS always auto connects even if I set OFF in settings and uncheck it in DCS then damn thing always connects! Anyway I can get it to stop this? I guess uninstall but any other way?

Turn SRS auto launch OFF in DCS Settings settings
Turn off auto connect in SRS Settings

You must've left one of those two on
