Also WW2 AI is yet to receive the newer dogfighting AI fast jets now have. So in addition to over performing the AI just makes silly decisions and does not know how to actually fight the planes according to RL period tactics. But this is ED's responsibility not mag3's, and supposedly is in the works.

They didn't call it the ensign eliminator for no reason. Flight model feels great.

I found the mirrors in the Corsair cause a big time performance hit. More so then other aircraft in game.

Why do You all need deadzones? It only makes the steering less sharp.
I haven’t deadzones in any aircraft profile I use.
No offend, I really want to know why You prefer them.
As the springs in the stick start to wear out it can drift off center introducing unwanted control input.
No one prefers using deadzones but it is a way to correct for worn out joysticks without having to buy a new one or change the springs out.

Can you drop a DCS log file here with this occurring without TrackIR.
Can you also run the Windows DxDiag tool, save the output report and drop here as well.
So i recently updated to windows 11 and the issue went away for several weeks but it just came back, I had my game freeze my whole system in the mission editor again today. This is with track IR running however, I will try replicate the issue without trackIR but in the past I have been able to get it to freeze without running trackIR I just didn't save the logs at that time as I was trying all sorts of potential fixes, and pulling my hair out. I will try and post it again if it happens without trackIR just to rule it out.

Game is still freezing as of update 2.9.15.9408 logs attached. Can someone from ED please weigh in on this issue Multiple threads have been started, across both Russian and English language forums, several people on discord have encountered this same issue. I have been through the ENTIRE Crash trouble shooting guide, with no success. This issue is completely sapping my enjoyment of the game.

Thanks for the info, it is kind of a relief to see I'm not alone in having this annoying freezing issue. I have installed Process Lasso and Park Control, but random freeze still occurs after I set the core affinity of DCS to 0-15 in Process Lasso and disable core parking in Park Control. I don't have DCS running in administrator mode, it is launched via the default shortcut created on the desktop at installation. However, I did find 2 CPU cores with a 100% usage rate when I'm running DCS, and I have now disabled them. Sadly, right after a few minutes, I encountered another freeze.
I'm experiencing full PC freeze when DCS starts. A solution that has been working for me is to, before opening the game, delete metashaders2 and FXO files in saved games folder, perform a short repair of DCS and finally perform a cleanup from the launcher, and then DCS runs great for me. I
Its only a workaround though, the last major update (the one that introduced save functionality) clearly borked something, that or its some kind of driver issue or both, the new NVIDIA driver has lots of issues with multiple games. My latest log is attached which is from a session where the game froze shortly after starting, shows no errors. The log analyzer in DCS discord recommends rolling back GPU drivers.

I have found today solution maybe it will help you too. First, just to check, set up your FPS limit in DCS options to 65.
If your in game main menu freezes and you will check your "frame rate counter" (RCtrl+pause), you will notice that one of the CPU cores can not handle stable 65 fps and fps drops due to renderer core 100% usage, this means that this solution is for you.
It seems that ED f.up code and for I7 13700K, DCS uses Efficient Core for rendering but it should Performance core
When your DCS is running go to task manager (LCtrl+LShift+Esc), check witch core has 100% usage, then go to "details tab", find DCS.exe, right mouse button on it, chose "set affinity" then switch off this 100% usage core. DCS will move 100% usage from from this core to another, hopefully to Performance core. You will notice that even in game, DCS runs much more smoother.
Very interesting, so I used to use the task manager to uncheck and recheck affinity for all cores in the DCS process, and that would instantly net me 20 - 30 FPS. So you might be on to something.
This was before when I could get passed the main menu though. So I will give this a try however the problem I see is that, once the freeze happens my entire computer locks up, all im able to do is restart. But I might be able to do this before the game completly loads and freezes.

Ive noticed that the last update gave everyone problems with some mods installed. If I were OP, Id remove those found in the saved games/mods/tech folder and see if anything changes....
First thing I tried. Before renaming my entire saved games folder. No effect in both cases.

Exact the same thing over here. But i found a weird solution:
Everytime before i launch DCS, i do perform a repair and use the clean files feature of the launcher. It works but shouldn't work that way...
So this solution is now working for me as well, however I must also restart my computer between sessions, then I can do a repair and cleanup, and finally it will run.
This is problematic however since I will have to rebuild shaders literally every game session, and DCS lags quite a bit during that process.
Seems like a corrupted file path is created each time the game is started, which then causes it to hang the next time it is run without doing a cleanup and repair.

Also as a last thing, you may try this:
kind of description:
https://linustechtips.com/topic/915727-common-stutter-lag-crash-fix-hpet-guide/No effect, this isn't a stutter or FPS problem btw. I get around 80 FPS in game, when DCS is running like it had been prior to 2.9.14.8222. Instead this a full system freeze. My whole computer stops responding, Mouse keyboard, screen, controllers everything. I have to do a hard restart of my PC when it happens, and it happens now everytime I start the game, and only with DCS. Several other resource intensive programs on my PC have no issues. So I don't think its a hardware problem either, otherwise it would be happening with other major programs too.

Neither of these worked to fix the freeze on startup. Latest log attached.

Interesting does it ever freeze mid mission for you? I was able to get past the main menu by doing a slow repair and check for excess files. Only to have it freeze again mid mission and then subsequent restarts result in it freezing on startup again.

I'll try that, but many of my freeze logs have no hot plug issues so I'm not sure that's it's related. Also I have hot plug disabled in the controls section. So if it's still on then that is a separate bug.

Ensure that you are not running DCS as Administrator, and that your BIOS is up-to-date.
Just updated BIOS did not fix the issue for me. DCS is not being run as admin. Latest log attached. The game worked for a second and i was able to hit the settings button and load the settings menu before it completely locked up on me. Haven't had any major performance/Crash issues in DCS for several years now. Definitely something to do with the last major update.

Ive had this same issue since the second to last update as well. DCS log analyzer can't find any showstoppers. Driving me up the wall.

Ensure you don't run DCS as administrator and core parking is really deactivated - these 2 was major causes of performance problems after last updates for most people. Your particular description match core parking behavior discussed on the forum this week https://forum.dcs.world/topic/371134-igra-i-kompjuter-zavisajut-na-osnovnom-jekrane-i-pri-priblizhenii-udalenii-na-karte-f-10-kolesom-myshi/page/2/#findComment-5623528
upd. also process priority must be normalAs I stated in my first post I'm not running it in admin mode and I checked both places where that could be on. Core parking has been disabled on my PC for a while now. It's definitely a new bug that has been introduced, for some background I haven't had a straight up crash with DCS in years, and now I can't get past the main menu without it completely locking up. I meet all the system requirements for high graphics settings. I typically have 60 - 80 FPS. So I definitely think something got borked by the last major patch.
-
I'm having Major Performance issues with this latest patch, game freezes and stops the whole PC, Multiple cores pegged at 100 percent. I've tried a quick and slow repair made sure my drivers are updated, renamed my saved games folder, deleted all mods, made sure I'm not running in admin, deleated FXO and metashaders2, checked that hotplug is disabled, all the usual suspects. Please fix, DCS has been running smoothly for me for the last couple years. Whatever was introduced in the last two patches has made the game highly unstable. At this point the game completely freezes my PC on startup, and I can't get past the main menu. I can't even post crash logs because DCS doesn't think it crashed. I have to hard reset my computer.
-
I tried the save feature on a custom mission in the middle of the mission airborne at 30k ft going mach 1 and when I loaded up the save it respawned me on the ground cold and dark at a completely different airfield. What did I do wrong?

This discussion is both pointless and off topic as ED has already made multiple statements on what weapons are going to be included.

I expect much higher fidelity in DCS than just "it looks the same to me". No, they are not the exact same shape at all.
They have to be the same shape for LO characteristics to work on all three variants. That was kinda the whole point of designing one aircraft family instead of three discrete ones. I don't think it will be very hard for ED to plug in new dimensions for their CFD sim of it.
This is quite the surprise!
