  1. Sorry guys a lot of what you are saying is like chinese to me.... I don't understand any of that stuff. I have never been good with computers. I did some more research and found two other ones that look OK, but one has a AMD Radeon R9 370 2GB video card versus an Nvidia card... I'll add RAM to it to make it 16gb at least (both at 8gb now), but what do you think of these two? The other has a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 video card but is a little more expensive. And yes this is going to be only for DCS... http://www.microcenter.com/product/469096/M32CD_Desktop_Computer_Factory_Recertified Radeon one http://www.microcenter.com/product/455845/G11CD-US009T_Desktop_Computer Nvidia one
  2. I'm awful with computers LOL... I'm sure I could probably figure it out, but I'm not sure if I want to risk ruining a computer and wasting money when just buying it already put together will save me time and money in the long run...
  3. Can anyone give some feedback on this system and the features of it to effectively run DCS 2.0? I don't know much about computers but it looks like it has more than enough to be good for it.
  4. So my setup works well for 1.5, but I can't get it running efficiently for 2.0 as it is very laggy even in single player mode (especially when I am near other aircraft). I am going to be buying a new PC specifically for DCS and need some guidance on what people have. I'm just starting my research, but I would like to order it so I have it up and running by the end of the month or the beginning of November if possible. Any help would be great!!
  5. Straight bend should be OK... I can make it work at least to keep it simple...
  6. I just got the A-10C Warthog HOTAS from Thrustmaster, but I'm having a hard time getting it to work so I may have to send it back for a replacement from Amazon. But either way that's the one I will be having... Right now I have the X-55
  7. DISREGARD - HOTAS BROKEN AND CONFIRMED BY THRUSTMASTER
  8. What do I need to purchase in order to extend the joystick longer for my pit? I'm going to start working on my home pit for the A-10C, and that will be something I would like to get soon. I've seen some people with it, but I've looked everywhere and can't find that attachment....
  9. 3-ship formation CAS mission from the other day as well.
  10. Here is a (LONG) video of one of our training missions recently recorded by one of our pilots. This was a 4-ship CAS mission. It was a lot of fun and did some practice and training for formation flying on the way to the first target.
  11. The Virtual Armed Forces (VAF) is recruiting and looking for pilots to join us. We are a fun group of pilots that like to fly together and fly missions with each other and other squadrons. We currently fly with several other squadrons on joint training missions as well. We currently fly the A-10C, F-15, Mirage, and other DCS modules. We currently have four squadrons (three active and one inactive until the F/A-18 mod is released). They are as follows: - 560th Virtual Flying Training Squadron - used for training and "check rides" to familiarize new pilots to the VAF - we can also provide training for new pilots that want to learn new aircraft or learn advanced weapon systems. - 75th Virtual Fighter Squadron - A-10C squadron - VCVW-14 - INACTIVE UNTIL F/A-18 module is released - this squadron will be Navy based and will fly either the F/A-18 and/or the F-14 - Virtual Flying Tigers - Squadron that is used for non-approved aircraft in the other squadrons (example - helicopters, Mirage, etc.) RULES AND REGULATIONS: 1. Under no circumstances will any current general member or board of directors say anything negative or inflammatory towards another member either on our communication channel, Teamspeak, or on any forum including the current VAF forum. Any negative or inflammatory comments or actions will be cause for immediate expulsion from the club. 2. To become a member you must be at least 18 years of age, have a good quality HOTAS control system, have a good quality microphone headset and a good quality and stable internet (no satellite) connection. 3. All members must subscribe to the VAF BBS Forum system and check into the BBS on a regular basis to keep up with current events. All members also need to have an account on the main website as well to have access to calendars, events, documentation, etc. 4. All members must use a valid email address for communication. The VAF will also be using Skype for communication amongst members to ensure proper and timely communication. 5. All members must attend at least one flight event on a bi-weekly basis or a minimum of 3 events per month. If you are a member and you can not meet the minimum requirements, you will be placed on the inactive members list. 6. All members must provide an in game callsign that does not conflict with any weapon, vehicle, aircraft or system, or with any current members callsign. 7. New pilots will be given access to confidential information with regard to training and procedures. Dissemination of confidential information to the public will be grounds for immediate termination. If you are interested in flying with us email us at either wheels75th@gmail.com or striker@virtualarmedforces.com. We look forward to hearing from you and flying with you soon. 13. Got it! Thanks everyone... sorry for the stupid question :)
  14. I've looked everywhere and the sticky thread says it cannot open page. Where do I get the downloadable maps and documentation for the A-10C Qualification? I purchased the module today and want to access and review the material, but I can't find it anywhere in what I purchased. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Hey guys hope you all are having a great day. I have been searching the forums, but I can't seem to find anything. Does anyone have a document or a link that outlines proper comms and procedures for the radio? I am working on my knowledge of the A-10C and am working with a new squadron. Just want to do some work on learning proper comms and meanings of different call outs. Also am hearing a lot of people calling out different numbers and such when in missions and want to learn about what they mean so I can understand and respond when in comms. Thanks! Wheels
  16. Sorry I should have clarified... I fly jets, particularly the F-15. Currently learning the A-10C, F-5, Hawk, and L-39.
  17. Hey everyone I'm located in the eastern United States (Pennsylvania). I had to take some time off of DCS World for a while and I am now getting back to flying. Part of that for me is getting some stick time to knock off some rust and work on my formation skills. Looking for someone to fly with during the day and/or night. I have time during the weekdays right now and some weeknights. Send me a PM or reply here if you are interested and I can send you my cell and/or email address. Thanks! Wheels
  18. Does anyone have a guideline as to how they have their controls set up to properly fly the L-39C? I have the X-55 stick and throttle, and Combat rudder pedals. I'm planning on adding the MFD's but I don't have any yet. I am having problems taxiing my aircraft, and I think it has to do with my settings. I know it steers different than say the F-15 or the A-10, but I can't figure out the settings I need to get it right. If I could just get off the ground I'd be good LOL...
  19. Hey guys.... in the old version I would just hit TAB and start typing, but that doesn't seem to be working with the 1.5 multiplayer... How do you chat in that one? Or did they not allow it....
  20. LOL well I seem to miss EVERYTHING on these forums!! Perfect date... hoping to fly tomorrow for the first time since my knee surgery LOL
  21. So anyone know about the release for Nellis???? They say late November, and I searched through the forums and didn't see a darn thing about the release date. Am I missing it somewhere????
  22. That's so frustrating!! It sure hasn't stopped them from releasing other modules. Maybe they should focus on the ones they were marketing on Facebook and all first. :-(
  23. Any word on the progress of this mod??? I know it's been worked on for quite a while and other mods have come out since. I know I can't be the only one who can't wait for this to be released. Any info would be great.
  24. Still nothing??? It's been quite a while... very disappointing
