  1. I thought I would try the basic flight qualification missions that DCS provided as a module. The thing is they honestly seem put together very poorly and they seem very buggy. I cant make it past the first mission which is startup, taxi and shut down because besides the one time I forgot to flick one switch and failed the whole mission, Ive done everything they want me to only for the mission to get stuck...that is nothing happens and there is no more direction. It is very frustrating because I have to spend all the time to start up and taxi just to have the mission give me no further instructions or grades after I shutdown at the end. I just wanna make it to the other lessons but I have to get past this buggy mission first and it wont let me. Is there a way to bypass or force a mission complete or something????
  2. its interesting you mention the course deviation. in the tutorial provided by the developers all they did for that was call in to the tower and get the heading they needed and they measured 10 miles till they had a visual of the airstrip which they then turned and used ils to land. they didnt demonstrate the use of the tacn. now they werent wrong were they? im assuming there are basically a few ways one can go about doing this pretty much?
  3. You said "we" in reference to real life, are you a pilot? :D
  4. My mind is....blown.
  5. Hey yall Im sure Ive earned the reputation as the village idiot on here in these forums and you know what? Im ok with that. I do have another question pertaining to landing once again though. I was just wondering what the point of putting in the TACN frequency to find out the direction of the landing strip if I can so conveniently get it by just inputting the CDU divert to get the automatic waypoint of the landing site?
  6. ah thank you
  7. Hey guys I was just curious, should I pick X or Y after I put in my TCN frequency ?
  8. are you saying that it like sets the flaps and stuff to takeoff? and engages nosewheel steering and everything? is that what you mean?
  9. So part of the start up procedure I understand is to at some point set your takeoff trim. Can someone just explain what it does? it doesnt seem to do anything whether I take off with it set or not.....
  10. do you know what its on by default?
  11. like the one below the cdu display? i actually dont recall. that may be the problem. If its not it then ill be sure to annoy you veterans again.
  12. Hey dudes I created some missions in my editor and noticed that the lines that connect the waypoints never show up like in the main missions. Does that mean anything bad? Im not sure how to make them appear. Does it even matter?
  13. Thanks babe.
  14. If I use DCS world through steam how can I get access to that 1.5 beta?
  15. Im not running the beta though. where can i get my hands on that by the way? is that available through steam?
  16. Hey guys, I recently switch OS to windows 10 from 7 and I noticed certain performance drops in certain games. DCS being one of them. I updated drivers. Thats about all I did. I reverted back to 7 because of the increase in performance. My set up is as follows: gtx 960, Gz971 motherboard, i5 4690k processor, 16 GB rams with a seagate terabyte hardrive. Has anyone else received these issues?
  17. Ah thats pretty helpful man. Thank you! I luv you. SO MUCH>
  18. Hey dudes, Ive been using the AA mode of the TGP and I was curious if there is an easier way to acquire a target then by blinding searching for it in the air. I ask because I find it hard to find the orientation of where the sensor is pointing when in the air. When in A to G mode theres a helpful icon on the HUD that moves in relation to the tgp when the tgp is soi. But this seems to be absent in the AA mode for the TGP. Any thoughts dudes?
  19. That was happening to me but in my particular case the reason that the mavericks were slewing god knows where was because, since by default they will make the current steerpoint the place where they will auto slew, they were going to the next waypoint in my flight plan. So I had to make sure that my current steerpoint was the range for instance. I know sometimes once you get close to the steerpoint it will automatically cycle to the next steerpoint so I would recommend just looking to see if that was your problem....
  20. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT
