  1. Hi, To practice fighting at the merge, I loaded an F-18 with four AIM 9x and a center fuel tank. The plan is to drop the tank near the fight and get into the fight. I have dropped the tank in some attempts. In others, frankly, I've forgotten to do so. In both cases, after launching an AIM 9x, the plane rolls fairly strong and I try to correct with trim, but then the plane is sluggish and can't really turn. Again, I don't have anything on the aircraft besides four AIM 9x and possibly the fuel tank. I've tried this mission with pylons on and I've tried with the unused pylons removed. Same problem. EDIT: I should've said that I have not had this experience with the F-18 with other, heavier payloads, ie. AMRAAMs and AIM 9X's mixes. The jet flies just fine after I've released a missle or the imbalance isn't anything you wouldn't expect. Has anyone else experienced this? What am I doing wrong here? Trying to go into my turns about 400-450, but as I said I'm fighting roll rate with trim just so I can keep the plane level. Can't fight like this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Hi, I'm very new to mission editing. I read through the entire thread for Stuka's templates, and the most recent suggestion says you should install them in: "Saved Games\DCS\Mission Editor folder, not the DCS World installation directory." I assume that's under C:\Users...etc. I installed the template there, but when I go in the ME, nothing appears to have changed under templates in a mission I had already created. Did I do the install right? If so, then I probably need to RTFM? Just want to make sure I got the file where it belongs first. Thanks, Grifter-RLG
  3. Hey thanks man for pointing me in the right direction. I will look into this tonight. Grifter-RLG Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hey thanks guys. Both of you mention a mod manager. I’m very new to mission editing. Is this mod manager a separate mod or is in the mission editor itself and o can find out more about the mod manager in the DCS manual? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Has anyone had trouble using Grimes' MOD to edit multiplayer missions? I want to use it to modify coalitions in a mission set I already created. This is the MOD I'm referring to: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=168720 Any adverse effects like mission crashing, broken, or players can't join without a copy of the mod or something? Anyone use it fix multiplayer missions without incident? Thanks in advance for any info. Much appreciated. Grifter.
  6. Hi, I've attempted to find this answer in the manual and online, but I can't seem to find it. It's probably here on the forum somewhere but no luck. Does anyone happen to know what happens if untick the last wpt option in the Escort Task? Will the escort fighters follow the plane(s) they are supposed to be protecting through their whole route? Or no? Thanks, Grifter.
  7. Hi again, I'm goofing around with it a bit more. I decided for the hell of it I would select CCIP first even though it was already displaying preset in that mode. Then I selected AUTO and it switched over to auto. That seems like a glitch to me. But I could be wrong and that's how the aircraft works? Weird. Anyway, I thought I would mention in case anyone else is having this problem. Grifter
  8. Hi, I've watched numerous tutorials and was in fact doing this a few weeks ago, but now I'm stuck. I'm either missing something obvious or perhaps their is a bug? I'm assuming it's me and not the sim. I go wheels up and get to about angels 10, then I proceed to set up my GBU 12's: Master ARM on, A/G mode, select GBU 82's, select mode, select auto....doesn't change from CCIP. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here? The other buttons seems to work fine. I can punch in the code on the ufc fine. Thanks, Grifter.
  9. Okay thanks man. I’ll try that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. *bump* So no one knows then?
  11. Hi, Placing s reaper in orbit above intended targets to serve as JTAC. Just not sure how high I can set the orbit above targets. How high can the reaper orbit and reliably lase targets? Is there a fidelity concern after a certain altitude? The laser should not a range problem, correct? I have the same question regarding its distance from target. How close does it need to be and how high can it be and still serve as a JTAC lasting targets? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
