  1. I flew RW in the civilian world from the mid to later 1970s till 1995. Did the next 20+ years in fixed wing exclusively. Spent time in the 206 series, 204, gazelle, Astar, Hughes 500 etc.... Loved the helicopter combat sims mentioned above. Had a chance several years ago to spend a few hour flying the DCS Huey in VR and was amazed just how good it was. I've thought about buying a VR headset but just haven't done it yet as there seems to be more than a few different ones available and I have no idea which ones are better than others. Currently have a 34" monitor. I think I will get the Apache now that the sale is on.....
  2. Where i am in Canada we get long winters so when summer comes I tend to spend more time outside and much less time simming and on the computer.......hence i missed your last great sale. My fault. That said I'd sure like to know about the next one. Is there somewhere i can register for notification? Many thanks for your consideration. Dave
  3. I've read the book right through. Excellent read. Like sitting in an IMAX theater being part of the action. Recommended. Dave (former rotary wing pilot)
  4. Thanks Yurgon, I did start a separate install for the beta version before i saw your reply or I would have just changed my current installation to the beta. I would think I can always remove the non-beta version once I'm sure the beta is functioning fine. Is there a link with instructions on how to do this? I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computers. Looking forward to seeing the Syria module and the new A10-II. Would be nice to see a Viet Nam, Cambodia, Thailand scenery module set in the timeline of the war with an F4.....or perhaps current timeline. Either would be interesting. Thanks again.
  5. I s this only available for play in the DCS Beta?
  6. Hi. Couple questions: Does this install a second full DCS on the computer? If so, Can this second DCS (beta) be installed on the same drive? Thanks.
  7. Greetings. I don’t know how to change to beta. If someone would point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks.
  8. Thanks Ramsay. Yes, I am using the non beta version. Guess I will be waiting for the next update. All the best. Dave
  9. Greetings. Purchased and it hasn’t shown up in my module manager to install. My sim indicates up to date when starting.
  10. Thanks for the reply. How does one switch to the open beta? I have never used it.
  11. Trying to take advantage of the free trial and when attempting to download I get the message.. Unknown Module. Please advise. Thank you.
  12. Well, it starts with simple things like trying to add a livery. No problem with P3d or XP. I have googled this, found some instructions but not successful. I am of the age where I really like paper manual (yep, dinasoar). Would like one for the F14. Well, that's my rant for the day, lol.
  13. Greetings. Hope that comment re "filthy immigrant from the UK" was made in humour. Anyone who enters the country legally is welcome. If you're getting into aviation as a pilot you are picking a great time to do so. Lots of retirements happening, shortage of pilots is real. I think it is an excellent example of "right time, right place" to be pursuing this career. I've got a lot of the aircraft, all maps.
