  1. Hello,

Has anyone heard if ED has any plans on implementing or coding the use of suppression of the enemy or making the enemy choose fight or flight when they are being shot at?

I think that would be a great addition to the game. For instance, you are in an attack helicopter bearing down at an enemy. He notices that and stop shooting at you and runs behind a building or tries to break line of sight. Once you fly past him, he opens up fire on you as you fly away.

Does this sound like it may be too difficult to code?

Whoever will win the race, it looks like 2021 will be the Year of the Helicopter on DCS.

However, in my opinion, 2 things to be fixed so we can fully enjoy helicopters in DCS:

    - Please ED, fix the AI, so there are no more death snipers. I mean, when facing infantry with the Mi-8, one, ONE bullet hit from infantry ends up with main hydraulic failure, and crash 2 minutes later. So, imagine what it will be in the OH-58 when flying low and dropping smoke grenades like real life videos we can watch on youtube. And, REALLY, who will proudly stand up, AK in the hand, facing a attack helicopter flying right on you, vomiting full baskets of rockets and gun shells (that's for the Mi-24 🥰) ? Normal (real) reaction would be to hide and save your skin (or try to).

    - And speaking of rockets, may be it is time to change the damages done by rockets. I mean, I already saw a full convoy of vehicles (And I'm talking of regular trucks, not armored vehicles) still intact, even if the whole road is scattered of craters made by salvo of high explosive rockets. It feels like the rocket have to land pinpoint on the vehicle to destroy it

Anyway, can't wait for new choppers releases 😛

I know it's quite off topic for the release of these two modules, but you know what I would like to see? Maybe if ED could program suppression or the enemy will stop shooting to run for cover if they see an aircraft flying towards or shooting at them.

Sorry if asked before, but will "our" Hind be capable of doing sling load transport?

I'm pretty sure I saw this in some forum post or video somewhere, but the Hind, although capable of sling loading, is just not used that way. It is underpowered and often not even able to hover in many situations. I think they said they would not be implementing it due to those reasons.

Let's leave the sling loading to her fat cousin, MI8.

IMO, ED shouldn't do pre-sales/pre-orders anymore, and modules should only be in the shop when it hits the public beta build.

That'll stop a lot of the "i bought it, but i can't fly" threads as it's not available and stop the complaints about it not being available (or getting delays) after they've bought it, plus the hype around it is often self defeating for ED as people build themselves up for it and then start complaining it is alpha and incomplete.

I tend to disagree with you and that notion.

I think a lot of people think like me, which is to say that I like learning the module as it progresses through development. I learn and master one thing at a time. It seems much less overwhelming that way and there is always something to look forward to with each new patch. It's like my module is a Tesla and it gets over the air updates every once in awhile.

  5. SPOILER ALERT!

I had an issue with the trigger when the jeep is leaving the city. I used F10 and said I would take it out with guns. As I was lining up, Smoke tells me he's on his run in even though I said I would take it out.. Well, I took it out and that pretty much broke Smoke. He just kept orbiting and wouldn't get back in formation or head to the tanker.

  6. I apologize for not including a track file. I have my DCS set to not record tracks for several reasons. I can change that, re-fly the mission, and then include the track file. I don't mind, but that seems like an awful waste of time for something that is probably very easily and quickly repeatable by your team. It's the first stadium north of Beirut.

To easily repeat the bug, just set a helicopter to start from the ground and place it smack dab in the middle of the stadium.

Having said that, I sent in a couple bug report because the map looks amazing and I really want it (and your company) to flourish.

  7. I'm pretty sure they have several subject matter experts (prior KW pilots and crew chiefs) that said the cockpit reminded them of being back in the bird and it looks great.

I'll take the SME's opinion over yours. Thanks.

  8. Well, I've never seen that before! I tried to watch the video, and it took me to a page that said, "Unless you have a time machine, you cannot watch this video."

So I didn't watch it because...well..I don't have a time machine. Not right now, anyway. It's in the shop.

ED is making a time machine. They said it will be released in....2 weeks :D

  9. A fact that is completely irrelevant. That being said I just dropped 10 GBU-12s...One at a time...from 15,000 feet and had 10 hits. I'd suggest checking your mappings to make sure your leasing.

Mic drop! Thanks for that :)

  10. for combat, gunner is more useful.. he can shoot targets and spot.

im not sure if copilot is going to use the gun sight for flexible miniguns..

but man, just seems like doorgunner is just more fun as a role.

in any case, grateful for any updates

Have you had a chance to use the flex site? That thing is amazing and much more valuable to multiplayer IMO. It allows the pilot to keep his eyes open for Manpads and to dedicate brain power to flying.

I'll take copilot over doorgunners any day of the week.

  11. Hi

It will be just pilots for multi crew to begin with.

It has been a long time coming but I am sure it will have been worth everyone's patience, the UH-1H is one of my favourites, to be able to share the experience with friends will be great.

When we have more news we will pass it on.

    thank you

So, does this mean if you have two people in the Huey they both have to stay in the pilot and copilot seats or could it mean that the 2nd person that joins is restricted to the copilot seat while the pilot has the ability to roam to the gunner seats?

Either way, I'm psyched! This will mean some great fake Vietnam missions in Georgia!

    Thanks for the info BIGNEWY
