  1. Well not all Nations are as logical as us Europeans ^^

But lets back to the Topic and lets leave this week day Discussion =P.

Yes, in fact you are so logical that you are argueing over when a week starts, no one even cares when the week starts or which day is the first day of the week, we live by the same weeks we call the days the same way... But ofcourse you would need to question it, to attemp to show your dominance over the Americas. Seems like you still have some nationalism in you from the 19th and 20th century.

  2. I simply made copies of the one season that the mod comes with after download and renamed them for all seasons, so I always have the desert textures no matter the season set in the mission.

thats how my JSMGE folder looks like

I did exactly what you did, but my game textures are the same as vanilla, any help? I am on 1.5 latest version/

  3. The only way I am buying this module, is if you can use the tailhook on carrier landings, or AGM-65 Mavericks. Too much single purpose aircraft in the game to be completely honest!

  4. hmmmm, I mind sound stupid and I might get hate for this, but does anybody know if it's possible to get a "tailhook mod" since the HAWK is basicly a T-45 but without MFD. I am not asking but I am wondering if it was even possible.

  5. This is awesome and I think WW2 aircraft are easier to get info on than 4th gen meanwhile I do think 3rd gen aircraft are the easiest, but either way I would love an aircraft in DCS with a specific role of bombing/attacking can you imagine flying 100 feet above the sea, dropping skipping bombs and torpedoes on German fleet!! oh man that would be awesome; if they keep it a secret project like AJS-37 by LN until it's almost done that would be awesome!

  6. Easy

    BAP 100 : 100mm

    BAT 120 : 120mm

Thanks for the info, can't wait for those munitions to come out seems like good fun on 104th ground pounding; watched some IRL footage and wow it looks sick.

  7. They are deep in coding systems for the Hornet, there is nothing interesting to say about that, you just have to accept its being worked on.

I guess you are right, and I wasn't really thinking soberly I am just really eager to get a new module. But I have to say coding information interests some of us, as we work in that field. and most importantly I hope in the long run they will have a bucket of information for us that will keep us going for a while.

  8. I guess they're at a point where there is no news to give. This has to be understood. There will be some weeks where there is nothing reveal. I'm actually surprised there is a weekly letter considering that not too long ago we were getting monthly news. It's just a dry spell for the moment maybe?

But they are constantly workin at the F/A-18c module, don't get me wrong I respect them but if they are going to announce a module they should update us with their progress, as well as they could update us with the AJS-37, and there is an example of a reasonable hold off of information, such as the AJS-37 it was a secret until 2016 and now it's already >95% done.

As well as the Mirage 2000c update it's already on DCS 2.0 but not on 1.5.3 where the majority of people resides.

At this point any information from them would be highly appreciated on the upcoming modules, I mean 2016 is promising to be the greatest year in DCS history and we haven't had a development update since January.

  9. +Silver_Dragon yeah, what I really want is some development informational update, feels like ED has been getting excuses for every week to not release any actual news, but I believe there is nothing they can tell us next that isn't actual news, unless someone creates some campaign :/

  10. Don't let BAP's stand in your way for getting the Mirage. It's a must buy module.Try to focus on what it was designed for though, many people try to shoehorn it into strike. You come for the interceptor, you stay for the possibilities :)

Oh I actually have the mirage, I was just saying how I got on to the information about the BAP, the mirage is truly a great aircraft, but I am hungry for a new module like F-14 or F-18c :)

  11. So I am extremely hungry for a new DCS module and already have my credit card on the starting line to spend some money on DCS, and I was browsing on the Roadmap and under Mirage it said "BAP-100 (in progress)" "BAP-120 (in progress)" I am wondering if anyone has any information on those munitions and when we are going to see them in our game? From what I see the BAP-100 is basicly a cluster bomb which would be amazing for the Mirage since it's ground attack accuracy isn't the greatest and the BAP-120 is a BAP-100 with a propulsion system. Would like to hear your thoughts on this and any info you know would be highly appreciated

  12. I believe that the -D has an extra MFD atleast in P3D it does but I could be wrong. and that is interior difference I have realized :/ but exterior I think it's identical. except the engines as you have said :)

  13. The Round Display to the right of the hud is the Maverick display.

Since the Viggen is a 1970s aircraft and there was no MFDs avaliable at the time and there was no space for a normal maverick display they had to come up with a different solution.

They looked at different choices and ended up with the VID (Virtual Image Display)

if you have further questions about the aircraft ask away (or go through the thread since pretty much all of has been answered already but with so many pages its kinda hard to find it all )

Its better to ask and get a better idea of the aircrafts performance/abillities then to guess/assume things bases on knowledge of other unrelated airplanes.

Wow thanks for the article that's pretty cool stuff. I am really excited for the Viggen!!!!!!

  14. This is a 1970s aircraft...

You dont have the abillity to lock Ground targets with the radar.

The radar is for navigation aswell as finding Ships / air targets.

Compare it with something like a A-7E or a F-4E (when it comes to avionics)

you cant compare it with a F-16 Block 40/50 etc.

It was very advanced for its time but by the 90s it was outdated in most ways (wich is why it was replaced by the Gripen in the 90s)

the JA 37 variant is much more advanced then the AJ/AJS 37

(as its a later variant being produced between 1980-1990 compared to 1970-78 of the AJ 37)

What would be a use of "zoomed mavericks" if there is no display to even guide them

Whatever it is, I have so many questions, and hopefully the release is going to happen in spring so I will find out from practice:pilotfly:

  15. Neither.

The first is a JA 37 wich is the fighter variant (1980s it later got a different MFD in a 90s upgrade same MFD as was used on the gripen)

The Second Picture is that of a SF 37 (recce variant) and is not a MFD it was used only for showing the Picture of the recce cameras mounted in the nose.

This is the AJ/AJS 37 cockpit.

    2276741.jpg

There is no difference between the AJ/AJS 37 cockpit wise other then some changes between the switches etc.

the AJS upgrade was a very limited upgrade.

It added some new weapons capabillity (by upgrading the onboard weapons computer letting it use modern weapons like the BK 90 and RBS 15F)

it also added the AIM-9L aswell as rewiring the pylons to be able to carry most of the ordnance.

But it was not major upgrade in terms of perfromance or avionics.

But then again the Aircraft left service only 4-5 years after the upgrade program started.

That is disappointing, still going to get it though, but how can you tell your radar is locked on to a T-90 and not some house?

  16. I am someone who has found "red" birds much more interesting since childhood. Might have do with mystery factor, or with "neighbors grass always greener" rule, or may be their usualy more seat of the pants operation. They are the things that got me interested in ED sims.

So I would love having some in DCS. Yet, I would not be interested in "lets guesstimate it all" or "lets put another cockpit and mish-mash additional missiles on it" approaches. Unfortunately, Russia or China seem not too forthcoming regarding legal allowance or information in these newer military hardware. I hope it will change, but I don't count on us getting a proper very modern red jet.

Older ones, yeah possibly. But this brings another side of coin, to compete F-15C, and soon to arrive aircraft like Eurofighter, F/A-18C, F-14B on more or less equal footing, a 2000s or at least very late 90s model Russian aircraft would be needed, and that already seems too late.

May be some upgrades and / or international variants like Bison, Su-30MKI etc, don't know, even those sound difficult to happen.

Rather, I am looking forward more into more 3rd gen and early 4th gen aircraft from all over the world, including both West and East. It is more likely to get well represented modules from this period, and opposing aircraft were somewhat better matched back then too. That's just me anyway.

If any way then it would have to be an international variant since Russian intellegence won't share any info.

But in my opinion the future of DCS will include servers with 4gen aircraft, servers with 3rd gen aircraft and servers with 2gen aircraft.

  17. Meanwhile the F15 in the simulation has no datalink, Helmet mounting cueing system or aim-9X Vector thrusting high-off boresight locking missile. It also cannot carry a Talon HATE pod to give it IRST capability.

I'm all for new russian stuff. I want a full russian dcs module for maybe the su-24, 27 or 34. But I'm afraid if we're going to add new stuff just for the sake of it being more powerful than what the last generation had the simulation may enter a state of powercreep where only the latest stuff is worth having. And soon we'll have F15C2040's with F22's battling it out with PAK FA T50's and HAL FGFA's/AMCA's.

I am sure it won't get to the point of 2017 aircraft, we might get those in 20 years, but 2000s seems reasonable to a limit like the Eurofighter, Su-35, F-35(RIP)
