Adding extra monitors as MFCD's
seastate replied to seastate's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the replies. I'd really want 2 small monitors rather than combining them in one monitor. I've got a Geforce GTX650 Ti Boost which says it can handle 4 monitors and it seems to have a Displayport. I read that "The main advantage of DisplayPort is the ability to output to multiple displays through Multi-Stream Transport (MST). You can do this by daisy-chaining compatible monitors over DisplayPort or by connecting a DisplayPort MST splitter to your single DisplayPort output on your PC or laptop." So maybe I could add 2 small Displayport monitors off the one connection? but I can't find any 10" Displayport monitors! and although there's a DP port on my graphics card it's not listed in the specs so maybe it's not working - would be a annoying to order DP monitors to find it doesn't work.. So maybe one connected HDMI and the other DVI? I suppose it's just a case of 'suck it and see' -
I've read the various forum posts but am still a little confused. I have one monitor at the moment and wanted to add two little ones either side as MFCD screens. I dont need the MFCD buttons - just the screens. I read that the easiest waywas with USB monitors but then I read that was terrible! I've only got 1 graphics card and it's got a spare 1 x HDMI 1 x DP and 1 x DVI. I'm not a computer expert but can muddle through, so what would be the best way to connect extra monitors? What cheap monitors would you recommend (I'm in EU, well UK but thats a different story:mad:)? Is it easy to set up? Thanks guys

Old school navigation help please - ADF/NDB? Backcourse ILS?
seastate replied to paradoxbox's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
At a guess - paper map, compass, radio and studying the terrain and contingencies in detail before a mission. In DCS - hit F10 :) -
I agree, but even when I ask nicely the enemy still sits around spread-out.. I know its rude of them but what can you do? ;)
-
Thats even easier - line the first one up and then use the mav slew for the others. you can easily fire a mav a second
-
That's what I'd put my money on.

Would it not be possible to mount the TGP on station 6 - the middle one?

TBH with a single engine I find the easiest landing is a high approach with engines off. Flaps max and speedbrakes as required. I know it's not the 'correct' way but it means you're not yawing all over the place and you only need to keep an eye on your speed.

I was reading the A-10's over Kosovo and they talk a lot of the time of searching for targets with binoculars. I think a binocular zoom view would be an excellent feature. Is there such a mod?

Win10 is good, loads quickly and no problems at all for 6 mnths

Is there anyway to get you wingman/flight to take off and land in formation? Apart from setting runway take-off in the mission editor..
