  1. Well lucky me, seems like the model may have corrupted...
  2. Well guys, progress is being made, not that I know if you guys still have any interest in it. I was trying to figure out how the fuselage connects to the rear around the engine exhausts and found out it slants down at an angle, so I am making that portion and running it through the bottom of the plane.
  3. A long time ago I learned a small amount of blender, not that I had remembered anything I learned because it was more then 2 years ago, but I just go into the software and just make things. As I said this is only my second time modeling in the software so I really didn't expect it to be as good as you said it is, but I guess it's coming along nicely.
  4. Well that's surprising seeing this is the 2nd real thing I've ever modeled, 1st that I have a reason to finish. Thanks for that.
  5. Sorry this isn't the most progress, but I have made at least some on the engines. Once I finish the intake I am going to do the bottom of the fuselage. http://i.imgur.com/ZKnD9MB.jpg
  6. Well I am back guys, Sorry I hadn't updated in a few days because I took some time to stop and think about how I'd continue to do some of the more tricky parts, and I think I figured out some of them, including the engine intake and exhaust. Just have to connect it from the top, the bottom, and in between and then connect it to the cockpit to get a big portion of the fuselage done. A picture will come out when I manage to get this portion at least semi-completed.
  7. I applied a mirror modifier to allow you to see what it looks like better. http://i.imgur.com/I6mrz1c.jpg
  8. Modeled the wing and remade the cabin and back, I replaced the cabin vertices with a half circle and scaled it to the right size to make it more true and round. http://i.imgur.com/fHUV2nB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VzijGpS.jpg http://i.imgur.com/G80TIBi.jpg I didn't keep the ailerons on the wings so that they could be added in later and made flexible instead of being a rigid mesh.
  9. As I said earlier, I'm coming to a stand still trying to figure out how to model certain parts, not working out too well.
  10. Hopefully there is a workaround, I don't know how to use 3DS max, nor would I like to restart this project.
  11. Shouldn't you be able to get a plugin for blender to export to 3ds, open it in 3ds max, and then convert to EDM?
  12. Nearly 1000 views, that's impressive. Great to raise awareness of the project to get potential contributors.
  13. If you know how to texture that'd be lovely, even if only simple textures, something besides a grey color pallet is nice.
  14. Yes that's correct, thanks as well. I need to round out the radar tail and the cabin to a better circle, so I am reworking all of that so it might be delayed until wings are done.
  15. I forgot to mention as well, this is gonna be the general model, no high/low poly. I will be detailing the windows, machine gun mantle, air refueling pod, etc. later.
  16. Quick update: Didn't make as much progress as I'd like, but that was more so because I'm finding trouble on how to start specific areas, but I got the akward area behind the cabin where it blends into the radar tail done, I just need to extend it. Bottom is next and then the first wing. http://i.imgur.com/671hjLH.jpg If anyone knows how to make shapes into semi circles or atleast round them out that would be greatly appreciated, my shapes are eyeballed to make them look moderately like they're round, but they're still just eyeballed...
  17. Of course you're right, but where is the fun and the challenge in making something more intermediate, you can't teach a kid to swim by throwing him in the deep end first, but if you give him a hand he might learn how to stay afloat. What I mean by that is, you can't just learn to 3d model by doing nothing but taking on big projects, but if you give yourself the software manual and some more reference guides, you'll learn as you go.
  18. This is a one man project at the moment, without the external model you'd be flying a large block of nothing. I'd presume it'd be easier to rig with something to judge what you're rigging off of. Your thoughts have been taken into place, but I am not the one to know how any of that would be done as it isn't exactly my area of expertise.
  19. Update: The blueprint images have been found, and cropped with Gimp, they're slightly offsized but I can always just scale the final model if anything isn't right. Modeling also began, though I don't know how I will get the cockpit in, I am building the body and wings right now, and then engines and tail wings will come. P.S: Any nice reference images/ articles would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I am intending on finishing the model before contacting Wagner to have a better chance to show completion.
  21. This process will be near completely new to me, I've modeling but only a few things before, but why start on something small if no one would pay enough attention to care about the final product. Plus, this is my favorite looking and performing aircraft of all time coming to a near perfect simulation engine.
  22. The internal quality would entirely be up to whoever manages to program it, I'm only planning on making the model to be built upon to inspire the rest of us to pitch anything they can in.
  23. Well, I can guarantee than I am not the only one wishing for a Sukhoi Su-34 "Fullback" Strike Fighter-Bomber! I am looking to make an Su-34 for all who are interested, because it seems damn near well that no dev is planning on making it any time soon, and all of the projects that were being made have had no progress done for atleast a year! This is outrageous for us who actually have an interest in this plane and its tactical advantage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disclaimer I myself do NOT know programming nor texturing, but I am a beginner 3d model..er... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the project itself, I do only request one thing from you guys, well.. two actually. I ask that you guys do and do not pay attention to my brand new account, considering I do play the game, am not the most hardcore simulation fan, but I have to have atleast some interest to be doing this for me and you guys as well. Secondly, if anyone could be kind enough to supply me with a blueprint esc. set of photos of the Su-34, 6 preferably, with the photo being the same size but the blueprint inside being relative to eachother. For example, the top would obviously be bigger then the front, but the photo size would be the same resolution, just with the rest of the space being blank color. If these photos could be of these parts (Starred ones are necessary) *Front, *Back, *Top, *Bottom, Left side, Right side. I do not need both sides, but atleast one. Thanks guys, Wish me luck and send me messages if I fail to remember to update this post. Sincerely, ErrDeeEff
