  1. Hi All,

I've recently installed VA and vaicom2.0. I'm using the a10c module with dcs downloaded from steam.. I'm having issues with calling airbases (airports?). I have the TM warthog.

I use the freeflight mission starting in the air. To start the mission I say mission start, and my mission starts no prob. Then I say batumi, hawg11 inbound (the log shows that all this is recognized with no errors.) In game I see Kholki, hawg11, inbound.

I've tried to do "batumi select" (doesnt always work) and "batumi atc select" with no errors, then "batumi, hawg11, inbound" and it still comes back Kholki, hawg11.....

Ive tried it from the training mission and it would pick a different base. Only when I get close to batumi does it work.

Do I have to set the radio freq manually? I thought you didn't have to with vaicom 2.0

Apologies if this was asked before. I did do a search which came up with this thread that had 69 pages....

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

    Much appreciated.

just a question, as I saw your install list. Did you install the static ATC mod so that airports are always listed in the same order?

You mention that it seems to "correct" itself as you get closer to the airport. This would appear to be a symptom if I'm not wrong...

  2. I know it's not realistic but please make an RAF or RN livery.

    +1

As a Brit, it would physically hurt me to only be able to fly this online with a US skin... It is a British plane after all :D

Only kidding, I'll fly it in whatever colours it comes in, but a RAF skin would be most appreciated.

  3. Well thats not enjoyable for starters and its not reliable then on long rides.

I would patch it up and sell it asap and get a "Honda or Yamaha" and you wont regret it, happy riding forever.

Get something in the range of "Sport Touring" -

Its great for commuting, travel and general good road riding with good benefits in luggage carrying and rear passenger and center stand as well, they are sport performance in design and handling with adjustments and heaps of mods to customize for added performance or comfort.

Also much better after support and easily accessible parts for servicing.

Honestly Jap bikes rule and have ruled for decades :smilewink:

    Watch...........

Maybe try getting a newer one? My 2013 Ducati 848 Evo runs like a dream. No problems (other than where I've messed it up from modding it) and starts every time. 17'000km in 4 years.. Not bad mileage compared to some of the others with only 2k on the clock for the same age lol... But then I buy my bikes to ride them, not stare at them in the garage :)

  4. I'm also curious by his rapid head movement when decsending. I would be interested to know what he's using as reference points or what he's looking at like that...

  5. lol, my supplier sent the Plextor RTM and gave me a refund. Apparently a lot of the others who had bought Plextor NVMe also had issues. The shop pretty much believes its a manufacture issue at Plextor. It would be amusing to find that it was just a BIOS update for Asus that fixed it. In the meantime I'm more than happy with the replacement Samsung 960 Evo. It took a manual force of the bios setting from Auto to Gen 3. on the MB, but once done it was lightning quick.

  6. Thanks for the updates Zeus. It's really interesting to get an inside view on the development of a module, and your openness is being much appreciated by the crowd watching. I would also like to recommend you for how well your handling some of the more blunt questions asked of you. Your really doing a great service to the fans by keeping up with the comments and reacting professionally and openly with answers.

Day 1 buy for me :)

  7. very difficult, but on the upside, I now know about setting the axis curves, which has resulted in me being able to hover the Huey, and ALMOST refuel the F15 :D (almost)...

... but the inevitable temper tantrum at the end of a 20 minute attempt when I start to wildly oscillate vertically and then deliberately crash in to the tanker shows me I still have some practice ahead of me.

Luckily, there are a few videos on YouTube that show me that it's not easy for the real life guys either...

  8. yup. It's been mainly English speaking companies (or business language) English until last year. I have been told I was fluent. Then I joined a Swiss French company, who's entire world is in French, including technical documentation. I suddenly found out I can't write for shit with all the conjugasion and not knowing all the french expressions and all, but I'm surviving... :)

  9. +1 for the donation. I'm a noob at dcs, and having subscribed to this thread, am impressed by the civil and relaxed discourse between players and the open nature of the server, when compared to some other squadrons. Have been trying to get my feet wet in multiplayer on this server bit it's always full when I want to join... I guess I. could donate to the link in the signature? What would be a good amount to donate?

Hope to see you guys online soon.

  10. Thanks for the response, but that's what I have done.

They manage to take out a couple of the SA6(?) but both die by flying directly into enemy fire... and then I lose.

I did win the first time through on the campaign by sheer luck. I have no idea how I lived, or got back alive to base. But it did show me what I was missing in situational awareness and systems management in the cockpit (radar management, weapons status, countermeasures) so I wanted to replay the mission to be able to pass it. After the first play through, the F16s hold until released, then just find the biggest group of SAMs they can find and circuit above them until they get shot..

I don't know if playing it outside of the campaign changes anything, as the SU-27s loitering at the back don't engage, as they did when playing the campaign.

  11. Hi,

    :helpsmilie:

looking for advice on how to fly the campaign so I can learn how to fly these things properly...

Running the mission from the campaign where I escort F16c SEAD. 2 x Mig29 on red side.

I keep altitude and take down the Mig29s once they start approaching the F16s, but then the F16s get shot down by ground, and I'm hauled to court martial.

What am I doing wrong in this? Should I be running lower? If I'm below 15k, I get hit by the SAMS, if I'm above, the F16s are taken out by SAMS, or enemy air cover if I just wait and see what happens.

Run the mission several times, and only get either of the two results.

    What should I be doing?

    Track file included.

Thanks in advance for the collective wisdom...
