  1. It's the nature of the beast that updates will often break things and require patching. But more importantly it's two steps forward and only temporary one step back. DCS World is looking more and more beautiful and realistic. To achieve this level of realism and immersion code will of course become more complex - thus more suceptable to generate errors. The devs are pushing the envelope with the development of DCS World and it's evident from their outstanding work that their more passionate than anyone about bringing DCS World to simulate the real world.

    Kudos to ED's devs.

A sensible and reasonable post at last

  2. I received my F-5 panel today. First off, it was packed and protected very well. The labels I requested were done correctly, and very legible. Glider UK said the lighting would depend on how what I wanted lined up with that on the Warthog itself, so I was not surprised.

My only criticism is that the panels themselves are priced reasonably, but then adding the postage to the USA from the UK means I probably won’t buy any more.

I am currently trying to organise an account that would allow slightly cheaper postage. As with all these things its dependant on volume.

I'm glad you liked the panel though and thank you for doing the review.

  3. Hey. I'm sorry for you.

I don't know about stutters gone temporarily and came back, but I'm really scared! If you have stutters with this system (64GB, i9-9900, 2080Ti) I should jump out of window.

If your system and similar ones suffer from stutters, I have no word to say! ED should find a solution those stutter issues at once...

He did, I didn't notice the post above about the autoexec.cfg. that has sorted it.

  4. PLEASE IGNORE, autoexec.cfg sorted it. Thanks for the solution.

I have had micro stutters within DCS for a while now.

I have gone through the forum and done cleans and repairs.

The installation is on a 1TB SSD and my specs are below. I got the stutters in any map and any aircraft. I upgraded to the newest version of DCS and installed the F-16 (great work by the way) but the stutters remained. With Vsync off my card runs at 100% but watching the graph on the GPU when a stutter occurs it drops to 70%, sometimes as low as 40% momentarily.

With Vsync on the GPU runs at around 65 to 85% but the stutters remained and the drops were consistent going as low as 25%, if I lowered all my settings to the minimum they remained.

However the other day I upgraded the graphics driver and installed windows update 1809. The stutters had gone completely. absolutely wonderful. It was a joy to play DCS all maxed out and getting the best frame rates I have ever had.

This lasted for a few days.

Stupidly I played with the graphics settings and turned it down from 4096 to 3840 as I noticed a slight phase in the screen, BANG the stutters came back and I can not get rid of them again.

I have deleted fxo and shaders. cleaned and repaired again. I have used a backup options.lua to before I made the changes to no avail.

Motto: If not broke don't fix it

If you could possibly shed some light onto this it would be very appreciated.

EDIT: I do not use Malwarebytes and my anti virus has the same settings it had when all was well.

    Regards

  5. Are your panels backlightable? How are the legends applied?

    Thanks

Yes they are back light-able but only were they align with the throttle lights. Its all dependent on the terminology on the switch.

To assign what you want the switch to do, you just fill in the form on the website.

Our main Cockpit panels (non thrustmaster)will all be back light-able.

I hope that answers your questions

  6. Glider,

I’m going to send you an order for an F-5E panel. If I like it, I will probably order some others. I have cataract surgery on 10/7, so it will be after I can see again. :)

No Problem, i'm sure all will go well.

Just go to the website once your ready.

    Regards

  7. A couple of questions, before I place an order.

What are the plates made of, and how thick?

Also, what glider do you fly? I used to have a Phoebus B1, then a Libelle 201B. Too old to fly in real life, anymore. That’s why I’m in simulators, now.

    Cheers,

    Hi TWC_SLAG

The panels for the Thrustmaster are made from 2mm B&W laminated acrylic. Any thicker and they stand too proud of the throttle. They are pretty sturdy, i'm not saying you can bend them double.

Name Glider actually comes from years and years of simming, I got that call-sign in the 90s from my LAN group, due to always running out of fuel and gliding into land. I used to always go everywhere full throttle until, Ooops "ran out of fuel"

  8. AWESOME idea!

Maybe it's possible to implement an input box per switch/button, because some are single throw toggles, buttons and double row toggles?

Great Idea, I can't see any reason why not.

Nice to chat to you again MTFDarkEagle, been along time.

  9. I think the idea is that you decide on how you want to map your TM WH throttle switches to the F16, check that they all work and then request a panel with the appropriate labels against the associated switches, using the form on the order page.

    damn good idea

@Glider_UK, maybe you could change the name of the thread to replace the "F18" with "Bespoke" or something like that?

Great idea, don't know if I can rename the thread. I will start a new one once I post my F-16 Pic

    @Kim Greyman explained it perfectly.

  10. Do the throttle levers detach at the bottom or will the grips need to be removed, in order to swap the panels?

No, all you need to do is move right throttle to full and left to idle, slide the panel in then opposite to fit. You don't need to remove anything. I'll do a quick video to show the fitting and put it here.

  11. Just a quick update,

The Throttle panel is no longer one aircraft specific, they are now fully customisable at the point of purchase. Just tell me how you want the switches labeled all for the same price.

Thanks you very much to everyone that has already purchased it.

I am currently doing an F-16 replacement panel for myself. I will post a pic once completed.

  12. Small heads up. The picture on your website is blurry. Might want to take a look at that.

All in all a very nice idea by the way. Although I think it's a waste to have heater buttons bound on the HOTAS, as one barely uses them, but of course that's just my opinion (I for instance have those buttons bound as autopilot). Not that I'd read them anyways flying VR only. But still, looks nice

All the buttons are customizable, its just for demonstration proposes.

I'll take a look at the image, thankyou

  13. Yes I am going to start selling them this week.

Just setting them up on my site.

    They will be £18 +VAT +P&P

Every button can be customized to your requirements, within the restriction of space.

I suggest that you do research before hand to make sure the button can me mapped correctly.

I have had quite a lot of PM's about them already.

    Pics of them fitted
