If buildings and tree are causing a drop in FPS, try setting Object Terrain Shadows to flat, this really helped with frame drops.
DCS - Object shadows - Default
Frames: 7308 - Time: 120000ms - Avg: 60.900 - Min: 39 - Max: 74
DCS - Object shadows - Flat
Frames: 9152 - Time: 120000ms - Avg: 76.267 - Min: 63 - Max: 96

This matches my findings.
I could not see any noticeable difference using an of the Nvidia CP settings or re shade.
MSAA has by far the most impact along with AF.

There's an issue with copying 2.2 files between drives. :badmood:
Just would not copy from my 2.2 install.
Found a backup of 1.5 on my other drive and it copied the files straight away.

Well the installer said copying files from DCS 2 OpenAlpha, then proceeded to not to transfer anything, and is now downloading all 44Gb of stuff. Good thing I have 6 hours before I get home to let my slow internet chug away! Looking forward to more fun in the new version!
I had the same thing, do you have your 1.5.8 and 2.2 installs on separate drives by any chance?

Epic, to bad it's stuck on the moving files from open alpha installation.. :/
Mine did that, turned out it couldnt copy the files for some reason (the install is on a separate drive don't know if that matters) so now its downloading the full 44GB :doh:

By that I meant one of the following settings:
B-F
B-G
B-H
B-J
B-K
And I forgot: D and E instead of B also work. So I should have said: [b,D,E] - [F-K]. Please take a look at the picture I attached in my previous comment. It will make it more clear.
You were in silent recording mode where no jamming signals are emitted ;)
Ok I got you, but what I dont get is that the manual also states B as a warmup mode and A as automatic? Either way it confused the hell out of me, but now I know and will test later tonight :thumbup:

Hmm, interesting. The SAM shouldn't even be launched in the first place, if they can't get a lock onto you. Did you change your altitude during your attack run?
When you tried jamming, can you confirm that the KB pod was actually emmiting (MOTVERK indication light on the warning panel lights up or flashes)?
Yes it was emitting, think I was using setting A-K on the U22/A.
I don't know if this is the correct setting though.
And yes I kept my altitude very low, around 50m or below.

I didn't find jamming to be any more effective.
Just staying low seems to help. For some reason (with and without jamming), the SAM's will explode in mid air on the way towards me, is that what they do if they lose contact or some kind of bug?
Either way, its only when this happened I was able to sneak in and get a launch and then escape very very quickly.

I haven't tried that mission (I wasn't even aware that there is such a mission), but I have practised attacks against the Pyotr Veliki which is equipped with a navalised S300 SAM. I think the Moscow has the same SAM system?
Initially I had no chance to even get in range for the RB04s (~30km), even when flying at 10m ASL. Then I tried to use the jammer pod, and this really did the trick. The jammer started jamming the ships radar as soon as it picked it up and that made it possible for me to get in weapon range and fire my RB04. I could get as close then 25km without even getting fired at. The problem here is, that the Jammer only works in a 60° arc to the front and as soon as I turned away from the ship it fired two missiles at me which shot me down. So the jammer really makes a difference.
How do you jam and use the rbo4? Its on the same hard point?

For me the size is fine, it fits on my 2nd monitor nicely. I would say the width is near maximum though.

I set up a simple landing mission with the jet pretty much on the approach.
The whole thing lasted maybe 5 minutes.
It pretty much when out of sync instantly, the track altitude was too high, it had me flaring at about 200m and dropping like a stone onto the runway. Amusing.
I've had tracks record for maybe 5 10 mins, but I've had some lose sync before even taking off.

Its funny I was inbound on a mission, and forgot the range of the RB04. So I was like "oh ok I'll check the weapons list", and it wasn't there.
So then I was like "oh ok I'll check the procedures documentation" in the manual which i have conveniently, and its not there either :doh:
I then had to quickly flip to the Weapons overview section to find it. :lol:
Its about 25km if anyone wants to know :)

Has anyone had success in the Moscow mission?
Pretty much as soon as I'm over water the ship launches its SAM's and I can never manage to fix the radar and get the weapons off without being destroyed.
Anyone got any tips for a successful attack?

Its a know bug and its being fixed for the next hot fix release AFAIK.

Well the guy tells you to set your QFE to a certain value, I mean I assumed he knew better than I did.
Either way LN are fixing it in the first hot fix :)

I just reverted the vertical axis, so its essentially wrong on the radar, but this is less of a problem than it begin wrong on the Mav.

Are you setting the QFE correctly?
The training mission was bugged and giving out incorrect QFE numbers, in that case it never showed for me.
Weapons mode - Attack
Master mode - Nav
Trigger unsafe
Even with the way point mis-aligned I would at least get the first bomb point in the hud.

I only have flame outs at low speed and at high AOA. Its not the most stable ship at supersonic but I haven't had any unexpected flameouts.

Quick hi-jack while we are talking about targeting. Is the boresight on the when using the maverick correct, it seems too high to me? Actually when using any sight in ANF mode I have to duck right down in my chair to get anything on the HUD (yes its in the up position).
Its making Mav shots difficult as I have to fly below the target, meaning i have less time to line up shots and pull out.

Hi, I had a crazy audio problem yesterday, think it was related to SRS, not sure.
But every now and again when someone talked over SRS the audio volume would jump to max for a few seconds, loud enough to get to the point I'd have to take my headphones off, absolutely deafening.
Would seem to happen randomly, but only whenever someone started to talk over the radio.
