  1. Ok, after a manual virus check, I bit the bullet and tried to install, and... it workes fine! I have just gone through the first training missions! So I guess ED did update the files?? - or they are using a different MD5 calculation?! (endian-wise?)
  2. Thanks for the advice, I'll try again a few times and if that fails, I'll break out memtest86 and give that a go. Don't think it's Memory, as I have never had MD5 issues with downloads before. (and my system is currently stable (touch wood) I run XP SP3, not Vista. Corrupt downloads seem more likely, but weirdly both times I downloaded setup.exe, I got the SAME MD5 hash, and I'd have thought the chances of corruption causing that would be millions to one against, My therry was that either ED have updated the download files and not the MD5 values or somat else is amiss.
  3. I have just downloaded both files from both the USA (1) and RU (2) mirrors and, checking the MD5 values against those posted, I get a difference.:( the values posted on the download site are File name: setup.exe File size: 1.31 GB MD5: b097066f30001c596f576d3f3c850cc1 and File name: data1.cab File size: 897.4 MB MD5: dc721fc2d8730c1bdd5621bcaf8d92e3 What I get is: ada611ee9181d39d3ae370c1cfe3f5e0 *data1.cab 7484d06a9cfe7ffe6048e9dd0c17280f *setup.exe Please can ED explin? I'm VERY reluctant to proceed with an install of unverified files:cry: Jetski
