alright, i set up an sa11 sr and sa unit out in a field, got it to fire off all 4 missles, and waited nother 8 minutes before blowing it up, in which time it never reloaded. im wondering if you put a supply truck or some sort within a certain range if it will, and if so, how long it would take. -
oh it definatly does, check out pictures of the real cockpits, its selectable hi or low rate of fire. it was definatly there in lomac and fc too, cause first thing id always do before takeoff was set it to low!

yea i noticed that they match the number of missles pictured in the 3d model, but never took in account reloading. dodging sams is the one thing im good at after playing falcon 4 af haha... and the ai doesnt seem to try to lure you in. ill have to make a custom misson and put on god mode and see how many rounds the sa can pop off before it stops to reload, if at all. ive had no luck at all with rockets except on fuel trucks in convoy, it takes far to many of them to take out single targets, im just far to inaccurate, ill get twice as close as if i am using the cannon, and for soft targets its usuallt less then a half second burst to set them ablaze, where i find myself dumping 4-6 rockets just to hit them accuratly. im assuming real world those rockets cost more then the fuel trucks themselves haha -
so once i am away from the airport and manually switch to next waypoint it changed automatically from 2 to 3 and then 3 to 4 after loitering over the targets. cannon accuracy is way different now it seems too! t72s are very tough now, you have to be right on top of them for enough rounds to land! and it seems you have to aim high. that brings me to the next question, whats the default key to change from hi to low rate on the cannon? its not what it was before, and i cant find it in controls. under weapons, the only thing that comes close was salvo mode? but that doesnt seem to change anything. thanks all!

ill check again but im pretty sure i was in nav. everytime i take off it just has me doing circles chasing the airport. the diamond i thought was a target area set up in the computer during preflight planning based on intelligence. atleast, thats how i thought it worked in the original lomac, id just follow the navs and id know i was in the right area when the triangle as along the route and things started to be fired at me ;)

do i have something set wrong or do waypoints no longer automatically update and change in route in fc2? also, the target area diamond in the a10 is always WAY off, another glitch? for example the first mission to take out the tanks when they pop smoke... the target area diamond will bring you do north almost over the ocean right at the sams past the airport, no where even close to where the tanks are being called for, the yellow smoke or the map in the briefing itself.

so apparently fc2 doesnt keep track of targets destroyed between missions? i spent a good effort on the first a10 mission destroying everything and anything, including two sa11 sam sights which took some very low level approach and pop up attacks with mavs on the central radar to pull off... twice no less... and i start the next mission, and they are all back, wasted effort. lame. very lame.

so apparently fc2 changed the charatoristics of the shilka... last i remember from some vids online the shilka could be engaged with the a10s mini from about 1.2 to .9 miles without taking fire back... now it seems they fire ALOT sooner. also, is ammo calculated for guns of aa or just for sams? played the first mission in the a10 campaign in fc2 for a few minutes to get reaquinted... and the sam (not sure of type) they have way north at the airfield seems to have unlimited ammo? i played chicked with it for longer then i can remember and it didnt seem to run out of missles to lob at me. wonder if this is just because there are a half dozen launchers at the airbase, or if its just not taken into account for certain sam types.

so i figured out the com window is used to refuel/reload and change arms, but how do you get repaired? to often i lose an engine or the hud and can land, but then what? i need to be fixed!

id really like the printed manual but its rather pricey. anyone have a copy they are willing to part with? anyone have any idea what size the one they are selling is? like, is it full 8x11 or smaller? i did an online check with staples.com to see if they could print the pdf for me but its hundreds of dollars, what a friggin rip. i miss the days of Janes where you got an encyclopedia sized manual free with the game.

its near impossible to fly it without a dead zone, its all joystick hardware, the real blackshark probably isnt flown with a $20 piece of plastic with a spring and plastic bubble to center it :) -

what entry speed would you be looking at to do a quick snap 180 turn after a run over a convoy say? ie. nose up to slow while max rudder to swing around to come in nose down back on target? ive done the manuever plenty of times in msfs in the bell but the physics and realism between the two, not to mention the heli's themselves i dont is even ballpark haha... kinda like comparing a lotus elise on a track entry speed to an 18 wheeler on a jersey turnpike offramp on ice with bumper guides! -
ive decided to devote more time to blackshark after pretty much getting tired of a10'ing almost every day for years now haha! ive gotten down hovering and basic flight, its still jumpy but i think alot has to do with getting the axis's tuned right with dead spots and curve... and figuring out this horrible trim system (thank you russian engineers...) anywho... i did a quick flight, daylight, no wind, with a few ground targets. i started off with a rolling takeoff cause ive never attempted one... it was rather easy. i set a hover a few times manually, played with turning, going sideways etc. then i set off to the field where i put some targets. i get into autohover to practice with the weapons. i take out a few with the gun and missles, and decide to come out of autohover and do a run in attack with rockets. i lurch foward and gain some alititude, but it gets hairy and by the time i get strightened im too low and close to shoot the rockets, so i pull up, gain some altitude, slow down and begin to turn around. i get back on target, come up to speed in a shallow dive getting the nsoe back on the targets, then i get a warning, the thing goes all screwy, then i fall to the ground to a firey death. i watch the replay from external and see that the bottom rotor disc rises violently between the 2 and 5 ocloack position in the disc, impacts the top rotor, and blasts apart, leaving me helpless to fall to the ground out of control. what on earth happened? i dont think i was pushing its limits in any way, i watched in the cockpit and i didnt see any g over limits... only thing i forgot was to raise the gear haha...but i dont see how that would horrible distort the rotor disc flow! comments, tips, suggestions, explinations as to what i might have done wrong?

i can lock on with mavs, but they dont ever release... what am i missing? i can fire the cannon and drop bombs as normal, but mavs just never react to any key for launch, fire, drop etc. master arm is on, is there some launch auth bs now with mavs with the new fc2?

Not happy that all the controls are different and had to be redone again... but besides that, I seem to be having problems zooming in with trackir in the new fc2. fc1 and blackshark still work fine, and i use the same profile for fc2, but leaning forward or back barely zooms at all!! even if i change the trackir settings to extremely aggressive curves, it doesnt change. what am i missing?

DCS and Flaming Cliffs a no go with 120hz monitor!

ok new problem... both games are working agian... but flaming cliffs has no trackir! blackshark is back to 100% minus the white load up screen, but trackir doesnt do anything in lomac. track ir is functioning, picking up signal and is enabled and picks up that lomac is running, but turning your head does nothing in game for the view. what am i missing now?? errrrg. -

Not sure if its just a simple setting I'm not finding in the menu or a key I have to press, but how do I make the cockpit mouse function in Flaming Cliffs like it does in KA50? Its like having a hand in the game, makes remembering keyboard shortcuts much simpler since most of the buttons can be just clicked instead! PS I have trackir...I think I remember it being there in LOMAC before I got FC and TrackIR if that changed it at all.

got it finally... had to uninstall and disconnect the 204b so 2233 was only monitor, game started up fine, exited... reinstalled monitor/reboot, started up again and both work fine. wierd. -
I just bought a new 120hz Samsung 2233 monitor, and both Blackshark and Flaming Cliffs will simply crash. Changing the refresh and resolution wont help...yet if i set my primary monitor as the other one (a Samsung 204b) both games run fine. VERY annoying, DCS please get on this bug!! All my other games work fine but your two! But those are the two i play most often!! its in the main a10 campaign in flaming cliffs... think it was the stock lomac campaign too..?

took a break form blackshark and came back to flame for abit and narrowed it down... its the vehicle in the city of plodovo in mission 5... just north on the river edge of the left most ally tank formation. its a tungusta i think? has same and anti air arty.
