  1. ....I think i have a real problem now...

    I just upgraded to the latest DCS 1.5.7.10872...

     

    Seems that the Flaps is still broken :(

     

    ..gear can be extended below 250 KIAS....

    Also.. still confirming but.....the longer I play, the worst it becomes.. need to be as slow as 180 KIAS :mad: (will try to screen cap later... play duration should be at least 30 minutes long.....)

  2. ...knew it... something's really screwy with the Eagle's flaps here on my install...

    I always thought 240 was the VFE something of the Eagle... because that how it was... a few weeks ago....

     

    Tried it again... confirmed... the Eagle's flap logic is broken... as seen in the next pics yet again...

    gears extended below 250 KIAS... flaps? ..nothing....

    Anyways.. I guess this is kinda moot since the latest build is 1.5.7... and this oddity only happens in my 1.5.6 install..... ^^ unless this recurs in the next builds maybe.... ^^

  3. *Firstly, I'll admit i'm not using the current 1.5.7.something build..

     

    For now i won't be upgrading unless the consensus states that the lastest build have improved framerates... or at least back to 1.5.6 levels...**

     

    with that I'm just wondering if anyone encountered this problem back in 1.5.6...

     

    For some reason... I can not extend the Flaps if I'm above 200 KIAS..... :(

    As seen in the next 2 pics.. I'm well below 250 KIAS that I can extend the Landing Gear.. but for some reason.. I can't extend the flaps.. and no... my keyboard nor joystick aren't broken..

    Conversely.. if I go beyond 200 KIAS, the flaps auto-retract....

    Really weird and annoying when a week ago, extension/retraction/auto-retraction can be done @ 250 KIAS below...

     

    now I don't feel like doing overhead breaks etc.. because of this..

     

    Any idea what can be done here? Thanks :)

  5. Lesson learned.. whenever the auto-updater offers to upgrade.. will make sure to read the feedback in the forums first..

     

    Internet connection is relatively slow here ..last weekend's update to 1.5.7 took more than two hours iirc...

     

    Aside from stuttering.. there had been FPS drops as the mission progresses in my end... something i didn't really experienced before..

     

    still thinking whether to rollback or abstain from playing DCS for now until a remedy patch eventually comes..

  6. Sorry for the late reply.. I think I'm unable to file this as a report yet since i haven't really updated my OS and GPU Drivers..

     

    but I guess it's an apparent issue since other users also experience this problem too..?

    Perhaps other people could check and see the Engien Alternator problem

     

    *not at home now.. so I'm unable to launch DCS anyway..

  7. Seems that the N2 RPM/Percentage Power skips when you set the temperature below 0 degrees..

     

    For now the only minimum I set on the weather options is 13°C but yeah, makes it kinda unrealistic since it's December and the Caucusus theater is now covered in snow...

     

    (or at least I think it is.. living here in a Tropical country ...and 13 would still be very cold for me.. lol)

     

    Idle would be at 58%, then slowly advanced the throttles to 62% for revving up just before the take-off run.. from 62% it definitely jumped to 67% whilst the Throttle Handle Angle didn't really advanced much..

     

    running version 1.5.5.58891 btw..

    At that point, pull the nose up (don't throttle down yet) to flare. You're going from your FPM at 2.5-3 deg to about 0.5 deg or less (but not zero, or you'll float). Once you're satisfied with the flare, pull power.

     

     

    This perhaps was the missing link.. So far I'm having better and more consistent touchdowns in the past few days.. Aside from maintaining a 21 AoA 2.5-3 degree descent picture..

     

    As for the ILS, I tend to de-activate it even at night.. only if the Runway can be seen clearly enough.. Dunno if what I'm doing is advisable though... It kinda adds clutter in my HUD view that's why..

  9. Thing is, I'm currently looking for a monitor replacement..

     

    Since I'm still using a Samsung 4:3 monitor SD TV format

     

    Anyways, I'm opting to replace it with a Widescreen.. but I can't go beyond 20 inches because of my limited Table space..

    ..considering the size limit, most monitors I see within the size range don't have DVI ports, mostly VGA although a few have HDMI ports..

     

     

    with that, Is DVI an older tech? and that I should just go HDMI and find a supporting HDMI cable instead?

  10. You're doing a visual approach, leave the ILS alone - you don't see it anywhere in the 'Normal Landing' video. Landings are visual FIRST, instruments are for when you can't see.

     

    Do it right visually and get rid of INS. (And yes, ILS has its issues).

     

    Do what's demonstrated in the video, not 'kinda sorta' what's in the video - don't ad lib, don't take away or add stuff - at all.

     

    I was talking more in the context of night landings anyway... as daylight approaches, I have no problems since I could feel the ground rush more... Most of my better landings happen during daylight flights

     

    that's why I mentioned the ILS.. but anyway I understand now.. guess it's one of the broken things in the sim..

  11. I'm kinda following the things done in the Normal Landing Video.. So far I can pretty much land the F-15 in a much better way now..

     

    but for some reason I have borked up my landings the past few days... been doing what was in the normal video training more or less but then I kept hearing that loud metal screech sound upon touchdown..

     

    For sure my touchdowns are ugly again..

     

     

    and for some reason it makes me think.. Is the glideslope in the F-15 ILS somehow bugged too? Perhaps by following it.. I'm somehow approaching too high?
