Ive been tossed up about dcs on monitors and dcs in vr... I always heard guys on here say how incredible it is and how they would ever go back to monitors.... Well, i took the plunge and boy are you guys rite!!!! WOW is all i can say. I purchased the oculus rift and my first time in the cockpit i was blown away... I kept finding myself reaching for the switches and buttons. I was supprised how clear it is and how well i could see and read everything.honestly i feel i could fly better because the perspective of being in the cockpit. The only thing i can say bad about it is when i move my head there is a tiny little bit of stutter... Im gonna try to read and look up some stuff to see if theres a way to smooth it out. It seems to only be in dcs, i messed around with some other little apps and stuff and they were all super smooth. Anyway, if anyone is like i was and on the fence about it... Just do it! I garrentee you will be blown away and love it...i know the thing that stopped me was people saying that vr isnt there yet and wait till there new developments... I am tottally happy and am glad i did it now...with as good as it looks now i cant imagine whats next!

I have a 3 monitor setup with a monitor underneath, like a "T". I ran the 3 monitors in one screen mode, than in nvidia surround, lastly 3 screen... Between 3 screen option and one screen there wasnt too much of a fps lose to make me say no to the 3 screen option. Also should there be a difference between setting up an nvidia surround and playing dcs or just picking the 1 screen option in dcs because i couldnt see a difference between the 2... I use helios with my modules so heres my dilemma...i can setup helios and get viewports setup on my bottum monitor when im just useing a one screen option. But, i am not knowledgeable enough to write a lua file for a 3 screen option with a 4th screen for helios and the mfcds... So i ask, is there somewhere i could find a default lua for my setup that i could change the parameters? Or does someone have one they could give me to edit? If neither of this is an option is there a better way to do the 1 screen option to get rid of the stretched out side screens? Or maybe a program? Thanks for any input that could help me....

I didnt list all specs it has 2 500gb ssd drives the whole thing is only 700...my pc i have now barely gets 35 fps on low settings...i have to do something...i cant go without playing...its all i got!!! Lol I looked into building something new and was blown away... For what i can buy this for i can barely purchase a new cutting edge video card... Its a maingear f131 from 2014

Ill try again but when i was going through the steps to download it it wouldnt continue unless i proceeded to update to 2.5..ect. I wanted to check out 1.5 to see if high settings in that look better than the low settings i have to run in 2.5 beta

I saw that there was version 1.5 on dcs world page... I was gunna download because my pc is getting dated and i use to be able to max out setting in 1.5 but now in 2.5 i can barely run it. So my question is, why is there 1.5 on the download page if when going to install it will just update you to 2.5?

With vr isnt the distance viewing outta focus, blurry as sorts?

Im stuck on which direction to go, i wanna upgrade my monitor setup for dcs... Theres two options im looking at: 1) 3 24" 1080p monitors 2) 1 43" 4k tv I sitting close to the screens so i thought the 3 screens would be much more immersive. Can you say that 4k is that much more over 1080p at this size? Also, which would hit fps harder 4k or 3 monitors set as one screen? Thanks for giving me your input and opinions!!! Good Day!!!

Yeah i just figured that out after seeing a video that you have to hit 7 before turning on...damn im dumb sometimes...thanks for your reply though!!!

Has anyone have or had a problem with not being able to turn on the mfcd or whatever its called in the su25t? I jumped in to fly and hit the "O" key and the screen didnt come on... I tried other keyboard keys to see if it was only that and it appears to be. I tried mapping it to my controller and it still didnt work. I know that "O" does it cause i did it a few nights back... Only thing that changed was i just got a 43" 4k tv setup... But i dont see why that would have anything to do with that... So, any ideas?

Thanks for your help...as it stands i kinda got it figured out...my wife bought me a 4k tv for fathers day. I set up the new screen size and put in the new size into the lua. I got a transparent red box to show on my second screen where the mfcd would be...so to test it i tried to turn on the screen with the "O" key but it wouldnt turn on. Then i went into options and mapped a controller key to the screen but that wouldnt turn on the screen either... I then went into the a10c to see if the mfcds worked in that, they were on but i had the writing from the cdu in the upper right of my screen, have no idea why thats there or how it got there... I am lost... Ive desided to delete dcs and all files and try to reinstall...thats where im at now. So i guess ill see if that atleast fixes the cdu problem. Also, i saw a program called ultra mfcd i think its called and thought id try that and maybe i could use that but i get the main program screen and it just says waiting for dcs and does nothing else so scratch that... Again thanks for your time...it seems hard to get any help on these forums unless your a regular

so where im confused is: 1}is the top one "center" my top main monitor? 2} and the "right mfcd" underneath for my second monitor? ie, the one under my main screen that helios is on I really wanna learn this as it required a lot in flying dcs if you wana use helios and such

Ive read stuff tried a million things it seems like and im stuck. I am trying to setup the helios capt_zeen su25t profile. I have it working in dcs but cannot for the life of me figure out this monitor lua. thing... Please if someone can help me understand this. Heres my info for my monitors: I have three 24" set at one screen which is 4268x770 I then have a 19" under those which makes a "T" The total screen size of all together is 4268x 1538 My problem is im not understanding how to edit the 2nd monitor lua. That capt_zeen has put into the file. Ive tried but no cigar...please help!!!

Is there a helios profile for the a10a or can you use the a10c somehow?thanks

I installed helios and am running the gadroc a10c single touchscreen profile and when i hit the right console button at the buttom right the console pops up on screen but theres no background for the panel so its really hard to read and see the switches... How can i put a background to it like the left console? Any help is appreciated,dave

Hope you all are enjoying the f18!!! I am doing the training missions and on the second one "cold start" it says to hold the fcs bit switch and the right mdi pb5 button at the same time... How? If i click on the bit switch and hold i have to release to hit the pb5 button. I cannot advance the training mission until i do it but cannot figure it out...please help me!!! Thanks,dave
