  1. I'm glad I'm not the only one struggling. If a real Huey was this sensitive, no one would ever get on one!. I'm a Private Pilot, and My last flight review (Dec 3rd) I brought this up to my flight instructor (who flew these in Nam) He said that as long as the governor was on, it was very hard to damage the engine at all, and they had lots of power, even when slinging loads. Now, I am unclear what model he was flying exactly, I assume there were different power levels over the years, but he said they were very reliable. We talked about VRS (Settling with power is what he called it) and Splitting the needles... He was amazed at my knowledge on the UH-1 thanks to this sim and the time I've put into using it (P.S. If you don't have an Oculus Rift... RUN to the store and get one! Simply amazing with DCS!)
  2. Need Tips to keep engine from failing... It took me a while to figure out that I couldn't just full throttle everywhere after the last update, but now it seems like the engine catches fire in flight a LOT. Been monitoring the EGT, but on this mission #4 I just cant seem to climb over the mountains without the engine failing. How can I keep from doing this? Less Power can't be the only answer, as I will not be able to fly over about 80kts or do any climbing at all. Thanks for any ideas... Loving Argo, Loving the UH1, not a fan of how easy this engine grenades. Not sure why they didn't make an option to turn off (very sensitive engine)
  3. Thanks so much to both of you! I just downloaded VoiceAttack, free trial Works even better than having the Warthog HOTAS mapped. I love it, elegant solution! Easy to set up and works perfectly! Thanks again!
  4. I like to fly the BFM/ACM Practice Missions... Like to an addictive degree. They are incredible. Living out all of my Top-Gun fantasies (and I even worked on the flight deck of the USS Carl Vinson CVN-70 in the 90's!) Is there any way to map "Calling Ready" to my Hotas? I'm using an Oculus Rift, and absolutely hate having to use the keyboard to start a fight, I have to hunt for F10, then F3 to start the engagement. Thanks for any help or suggestions!:helpsmilie: I already have my comms init (to bring up the menu) set up as well as formation changes, cover me, and join up. Just can't figure out how to do this. I also have one button mapped to F10 but that always just brings up the map and not actually pressing F10 in the comms menu. -Sean
