  1. So after working with Hp support and doing a bunch of software updates, it was determined that my cable had gone bad. I was still running a Gen 1 cable. They sent me a new cable quickly. I set it up today and my blue screen issues are gone.

  2. I’m running a G2 with a 1080ti, had zero issues for a few years. Now suddenly last night my headset is crashing to a blue screen with DCS running in the back ground then crashing as well. I’ve uninstalled and clean re-installed WMR, SVR and the WMR SVR and it still doing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas? I’m at a complete loss as to what’s causing this???

  3. Odd issue, I feel it’s a setting somewhere??? I fly the P51 a lot and when I engage my Hotas PTT VA works fine however the in cockpit PTT will depress, then when I release my Hotas PTT the in cockpit PTT will not reset, it stays in a pressed in “active” mode. I have SRS installed but not running. It’s really messing up tryin to fly MP and getting a hot mic. Any ideas???

  4. These are obviously different VAICOM commands, both important if you fly off carriers. However for me VoiceAttack consistently interprets both as "select" with very high confidence. I guess because they have the same consonant sounds but different vowel sounds. I've tried training and recorded my pronunciation of each in Windows Speech recognition but the problem persists. Any ideas? What would be a good alias for Salute? Launch is used for something else.

You could really simplify with something off the wall. Such as, “fire”. “Bye” “fly” “go””shoot”… just some ideas off the top of my head

  5. Again, I need tracks, if its MP, then get a buddy and do a quick test of it, I have not see this.

Tracks - We’ve tried the tracks route before and it fell on deaf ears. If I have your ear and you are willing to actually follow through, then I can get you plenty of tracks. Take a day or two and spend a little time flying on the (storm of war) server and you will experience all these things that fill up the forum on a regular basis. These are not one off’s or random events, they happen daily. Fly the P51, experience the random engine failures while everything is in the green (frustrating!) Shoot a couple K4 and A8’s and see how ineffective the 50’s are. Watch the K4 and the A8 crash land at 350+ MPH, tumble, go through the trees and remain completely intact while the P51 can (now thankfully crash land but land on a runway softly with no tail wheel and explode into a fire ball). Fight a K4, have him fly through your fuselage cutting you in half and watch him fly away as you fall from the sky. Try to pull vertical in a fight and watch your engine flash heat in about a second. Watch the D9, A8 and K4 all dive at 450-500 mph and pull G’s while P51’s rips wings off with any g load at those speeds. I personally have never seen a german plane lose a wing in the dive while pulling G’s. Watch the P51 engulf in flames from one German canon in proximity, watch Spitfire’s instantly lose their empanage from a single round. (That maybe accurate for cannons) however, it’s frustrating when you put 10,000 rounds in a German plane and can’t do a quarter of that amount of damage. Getting a buddy to fly to recreate these things don’t work! You have to experience them on a server in action. I hope you understand this is me airing my frustrations. I’m not trying to come across as an ass! I have the same desire as everyone to make DCS WW2 all it can be. I also do not wish to plug up the forum, I would be more then happy to move this conversation to PM and provide you with any info you request/tracks you request. Thank you for your efforts !

  6. Part of the issue as well is that exploding fuel or ammo is not modelled yet, this was a big deal, well ammo (in the case of the 190A) was as far as removing wings. But in general, if you hit it, the 190 will go down.

(Yes we need the API rounds and the exploding fuel/ammo). However the rest of your statement is simply not true in the multiplayer environment. The. D9 can take punishment but difficult to bring down. The A8 is damn near impossible! It’s to a point that my squad and I pretty much let the Anton go because it will require every bullet the P51 has and then some from your wingman to bring it down. A few months back you could remove a wing, not so anymore. I fly both sides and agree with the original statement. The P51 50’s are severally inferior to any other plane in DCS. The running joke is to land and reload after every K4 engagement, if it’s an Anton engagement the whole squad has to land and reload. We are very skilled group with very good marksmanship. I can only imagine how much more difficult it is for the average Flyer.

So I un-bound all my PTT TX except one and now it seems to be working correctly.

  8. I may have worded myself a little stupid.
Don't bind same PTT button in VA as a TX in VAICOM. Might help if that's what you have. I did this myself at first.

ah ok, so I removed all my PTT in VA and just bound a single TX in VAICOM but it still has the same behavior

  9. Disregard! I had to completely remove my key bindings and re-bind within VA and now it works as it should

Well that was short lived, worked great! Changed nothing. Then fly again a little later and it no longer works?

  10. I fly the P51 mostly and when I use VA the PTT will press inward and stay stuck in that position never being released. I’m sure it’s something simple I’m missing but how to I stop that behavior for the PTT button? I don’t have the button bound to any controls.

  11. Well I just updated to the newest version to test after reverting to a previous version due to the “Listening Suspend” issue. It’s still broken for me and
    un-usable!!!

  13.
I don't know what to tell you. I did two bounces last night and was able to engage the ACLS for both of them. I didn't touch the Link, and all I did to the autopilot was flick master mode off after touching down, and re-engage it and acl behind the boat.

Interesting…. Don’t know why I’m losing it. If I change to say data link fight to fighter, then data link tactical, set host to Washington. I lose all tracking and auto pilot ques from the ACLs. Maybe I just need to leave the ship as the host and not use it for anything else..lol

  14. You have ACLS selected. Switch HUD and VDI to ILS. Also, switch ICLS channel to the carrier

I misstated in the original paragraph, my issue is not ICLS it’s actually ACLs, I’m having issues using it consecutively after a full stop landing. I can use for a full stop, but then when I relaunch I can no longer use it for some reason. I get no guidance needles or autopilot coupling annunciator lights

  15. The F-14 has two different landing instrumentation modes. ACLS and ICLS. ACLS is for steering the aircraft to zone of air space where the automatic landing system can sync up with the carrier and fly towards the deck. ICLS is a separate system that is purely for providing guidance to the boat. They provide similar, but not identical steering cues. ACLS is provided via LInk 4A when the carrier is selected via host. ICLS is provided by a separated system over a channel that is broadcast by the carrier and selected by the pilot.

The Tomcat has two modes of Link 4, Link-4A (or tactical as it's labelled) and Link-4C (fighter to fighter). There is no third or "non tactical mode". By default the aircraft will be in 4A, you don't need to tell jester to go to tactical mode unless you're already in fighter to fighter. 4A is a single provider system, you can only be tuned to one host at a time, and if you want ACLS that has to be the carrier you want to land on.

As for being unable to re-link with the ship, I tried today and was unable to reproduce it. I was able to switch to an awacs, switch to fighter to fighter, switch back to the boat, get steering, do a touch and go, and land with steering still there.

Then how do I “reset” the acls? I used it to do a hands free case 3 landing to full stop. Then I taxi and re-launch. From then on I’m not able to re-use the acls because I get no needle guidance or autopilot ques for the coupling. That’s where my confusion is, it seems nothing changed (settings wise) it should all work the same as it did on the previous approach?

  16. When doing Data Link for the ICLS, if I tell jester to data link host the ship, the ICLS will work fine. However, the moment I tell jester to change the data link mode to tactical or fighter etc… even if I tell him to change mode back and host to the ship I lose the Data Link and I can no longer use the ICLS. Can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong??? I should be able to use the ICLS data link for multiple case 3 approaches and link with an AWAC and back to the ship etc… for some reason I can only do a single ICLS approach and that’s only if I tell jester to link host the ship and nothing else.

  17. So I’m practicing case 3’s with the acls. For some reason when I tell jester to link mode tactical, he’s responding with ok, but then he’s not actually completing the task??? Anyone else experience this? It just started, worked fine last night

  18. Little help!!! Somehow my SSA stopped working and my SSM had lost its activation code. I was able to re-activate SSM without issue. However, I had to completely re-install SSA for it to work. That means I lost all my aircraft settings data. I made a backup before I re-installed. Is there a file I can copy over to replace my lost settings in SSA?

  19. Yeah you gotta be careful. Most missions and even the default comms in the editor use the second radio for flight comms (UHF/VHF). The problem is if you tell jester to switch to something else like tower or AWACS, you’ll lose your flight comms and most likely can’t get them on radio 1 (UHF) because it’s set to a VHF frequency.

Ah!!! Thank you! That makes sense. I knew I was doing something minor to cause the issue. That explains it perfectly.
