  1. My simple quick fix for the X-56 right throttle moving on its own was to cut a standard business card so the width would snugly fit between and under both sides of the RIGHT throttle track. The length would just about be as long as the front right throttle graph at idle and short enough to fit under the forward lip of the track. Push the right throttle forward and let the card slide into the housing. The throttle stop will prevent the card from sliding all the way under neath. This created just enough friction to stop the right throttle from moving on its own. Hope this helps
  2. Hello Everyone, I hope the holidays were good to all. I purchased the powerspec G223 about a week ago from Microcenter and had major issues with DCS and Oculus Rift. Major slide show with FPS. After about a week of troubleshooting I decided to bring the CPU back and the tech there just happened to be a DCS fan. he was nice enough to swap out computers to a new one just in case and loaded and OLD driver for the Nvidia 1060 v381 that comes with the computer. Currently the new drivers for the Nvidia 1060's was the problem. So if you did get this CPU or have the Nvidia 1060, find driver v381 and try installing that. All is well. FPS jumped from 25 to 100 on "my" benchmark test with the F/A-18 in the free flight instant action. Before any comments start flying about Microcenter, prebuilts, video cards, etc, etc. I just want to say this post is for people like me. -Limited computer knowledge -way to old -Limited budget, this was a big for me. -never home -significant other says "get the F$%k off the computer" :))))))))))) -above all, no time. The powerspec g223 does not stay on the shelf very long at MC. So I know some one out there in the DCS world besides me may have one. With all that being said, I know for a fact that with the interaction I have had on this forum, there is no doubt in my mind that if I had the time and the resources many of you would have been glad to help me build a computer. I hope this helps someone and yes, so far very happy with the G223. Than again it's only been a day. LMAO later Creature **Update** Nvidia 1060 driver v3.88 satisfies the Oculus driver check and no issues with DCS fps **Update**
  3. That's all I was getting at, because I am one of those people:)) On a side note. Finally got it loaded and the F/A-18 is a wonderful example of hard work. Now if you will excuse me, I am going back to flying it:)) C
  4. Please do not confuse this with a "rant" or a complaint. Simply a statement. DCS puts out a quality sim and obviously also a great deal of time and effort to produce high quality simulation. I want to be clear that is not over looked. C I went back and the only place i could find that the Open Beta version was required was on the page displayed after the "buy" button was clicked. It is at the bottom of the features bullet points. FYI
  5. DCS: I recommend being a little more specific about what version is required to use the F/A-18. There is a clear message saying DCS world 2.5.2 is required. It is actually 2.5.2 open beta. Maybe this was my own ignorance but I wasted 5 hours of the day figuring out that the beta version was needed. I was was under the impression that it was just DCS World and I could not figure out why it would not update to 2.5.2. I finally figured it out on the forums (my thanks to the forum) and I am still waiting for all the downloads to be completed. A little frustrating considering the cost and also the time I could have saved if I was aware of this and downloaded the Open Beta when I pre purchased the F/A-18. Again my own ignorance may be to blame, but I can't imagine that I am the only one who had this unexpected set back. Creature
  6. Thanks Art All is right with the world again:) Creature
  7. Made the fatal mistake of letting the 2.5 replace the 1.5x during install. I had to reinstall 1.58, runs better on my machine Can I copy the 2.5 joystick settings to the new install of 1.58? If so where is it? Thx Creature
