  1. Hi TonyG- new version will include an export script. Stay tuned!
  2. Hi boNes- In this release version I'm working on, the LSO will call "Check-in Clear" when you are flying starboard (right) side before the break. This will let you know that you have correctly triggered all the requirements. Yes- I have added an ability to do both break pattern and straight in this new version as well. Happy to see the link for the vLSO. Maybe I can add some more calls. However, my concern with more audio calls it the size of the mission file itself. Right now the new version has 84 different audio calls and the mission size is ~2mb. I'm afraid if we add more it would be difficult to load in MP. Thanks for your feedback!
  3. arkroyale048 - Yep. There is no need to actually call the Carrier (unless for the Carrier to turn on landing lights).
  4. Hi savamiso- Thanks for letting me know. Yes, it actually would cause an issue, so this is fixed in the new version. Stay tuned for release!
  5. Hi Pablon64- I'm hoping to release a new version soon. All your comments are already incorporated. Just need to do some more MP testing before releasing. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for your insights mdhoover- agree with the unit conversions, it was really for me when thinking about flight parameters. Also, not necessarily with the velocity vector. It depends on what you want to get assess.
  7. Hi TechRoss, not difficult at all, but I'd suggest you just load the LSO AI Script. It's really simple to do in the Mission Editor and even if you don't want to use all its features, you'll still get the Carrier Information Menu. If that doesn't work, let me know and I'm happy to build a Carrier Menu only script for you and community as well.
  8. Hi arkroyale048- The script broadcasts only to a specific frequency (just like how the actual operation works). Because simplified radio automatically tunes to the frequency only when you make a call in that frequency, you won't hear the LSO unless you call in to the Carrier (in other words, by making the call to the Carrier, you are changing your frequency to match the Carrier's broadcast).
  9. I've tweaked the too close in pattern to represent a 30s (originally 45s) separation at the abeam location. If this is still giving too long an interval, I can adjust as well. Will have this change with the next v2.0 update tomorrow. Also with the script not working after a time, I'll also be adding "reset" option in the F10 menu to help clear some variables. Ideally, I would love to understand what tripped the script, but for now this option might help with these scenarios.
  10. Hi 195th_Magic- I'm glad the script is beneficial for you and your squad. Really appreciate your feedback and the detailed description of the scenario. I'm about to release a v2.0 with a lot more features including fixing this issue and an LSO check-in at the starboard flyover. Expecting to release this tomorrow evening after some MP testing. Let me know when you guys are flying, and I'd be happy to observe the issues as well. Thanks again!
  11. Hi Shadoga- reread NATOPS and both you and donkeyrider are right on. Thanks for the clarification, for some reason I had 34K lbs in my head. As for the volume- I feel like it's an issue for a lot of people as well. I'm trying to figure out how do fix this from the sound file, but I suggest doing the following in the meantime: - Turn up the comm volume on the Hornet - Turn down all other volume settings in the DCS volume menu except "In-Cockpit" and "Helmet") - Turn up Windows volume My volume setting in DCS is as follows and I've been able to enjoy DCS and hear the comms pretty well. - Volume: 15% - GUI: 100% - World: 10% - In-Cockpit: 50% - Helmet: 100% - Music: 0% Let me know if this helps.
  12. Hi BoneDust- thanks for the suggestion. I'm definitely thinking about a marshal stack script as well. Stay tuned!
  13. donkeyrider- FYI, just checked the current mission file. At 75% fuel (which it is right now), you start at 34,189lbs which should get you to ~34,000lbs at the first landing.
  14. Hi Evilfisher- I've definitely looked into the sound file volume. Just so you are aware, these sound files were amplified as much as possible. So if you play this outside the DCS game, it's really loud. Have you tried increasing the Hornet comm volume? I find that it helps quite a bit to max it out.
  15. Hi donkeyrider - Thanks for your suggestion. Will reduce the mission starting fuel a bit further (currently at 75%). Also, definitely - I was thinking about adding this feature as well. Will put this in the list for improvements for next major update version.
  16. majapahit- Yes you are right, slamming on deck and trapping, not bolter. I'll update the changelog for clarity. Thanks for pointing this out.
  17. rephiled - the LSO AI Script does keep the latest 15 landing grades after you land. However, note that this is the latest 15 landings the Carrier sees, not necessarily your last 15 landings. So if someone else lands after you, it will be recorded and report as well.
  18. Highwayman-Ed - thanks for figuring this out. Never really used the "Name" field so didn't write the script to handle it. I'll update the release note to reflect that the "Name" field needs to be blank until I get a chance to update the script.
  19. dwpenney- Thanks for the suggestion. That's a great way of handling the sound file. I'll definitely take a look. Appreciate the feedback.
  20. Hi near_blind- Yes, the code is purposely written as such to prevent changes and having to manage multiple versions. Let me know what you are looking to do and I'm more than happy to help out. Btw- I don't think the F10 menu would conflict with others... although, not sure what you are trying to do.
  21. Hi rephiled- glad the LSO AI Script is working for you. In short, yes. If you landed the aircraft, you will need to take-off and re-enter the pattern the starboard side again. To practice multiple attempts, I'd suggest you leave the hook-up when landing. The LSO AI Script will still provide you with the description of your flight path (although it will be a "B", bolter pass). I believe this is how the Navy conduct their landing practices as well.
  22. Hi Larkis- Thanks for your feedback. Addressing your comments below: Mission file: 1. Done, updated mission file to start 7.5NM at 2,000ft behind Carrier. 2. Done, removed 75% of static objects on board Carrier. Hope this helps with your FPS. LSO Script: 1. I'll consider subtitles, but for now, I'd prefer not having them because they are quite a distraction when trying to land. I started off with subtitles and found that I needed the sounds command to make this remotely useful. 2. Will consider this as well. The limitations of DCS script engine makes it difficult to track aircraft break pattern when there are multiple aircraft are flying in formation together. I wrote this code to fly in MP, so this had to consider this scenario. 3. This would be difficult, and I'd suggest flying with a friend who can watch you with the F2 view and help guide to on what to do in the landing pattern. 4. If you are Waved-Off, just follow the pattern again, it will reset automatically. Make sure that you are between 1.1NM and 1.5NM at the abeam position and don't turn the 180 until you are slightly behind the Carrier. Good luck!
  23. Ah! Yes, that is true. Will add that to the release notes. Thanks for figuring this out!
  24. Sandman1330- Yep, I bet you didn't rename your Carrier Unit to "Stennis_AI".
  25. Hi abak- thanks for the feedback. Somewhat intended for a hard landing to be possible (i.e., no Wave-Off calls if you slam the deck) because in certain situations (night and turbulent) you just need to get wheels on deck. That being said, I'll make sure you don't get an "OK 3 wire" if you do that.
