  1. Well played some with the PC to day, and hit a kind of 4.9 stable...

Kind of since the uncore side only runs at 4.7.

Just had the onboard GFX on!!! Turned it of, and is now able to boot into windows @5ghz but get a BSD quickly - can start RealBench if uncore is running at 4.6.

This is with a voltage at 1.4 for both Vcore and CPU Cache. No difference up to 1.5V.

Max temp is 73¤C after 4 hours of RealBench StressTest, water do get "warm" at +6.2¤C over ambient temperture. So nothing is getting hot.

  2. Mine is delided, and temps never go past 50°C

What helps there is alot of radiator, have two radiators one 3x120mm and one 3x3x120mm !

So with a water cooled motherboard, GFX, and a delided CPU... Ive should be able to figure out how to get it to run stable. Windows7 and Ill can run stable at 4.8 but windows 10 only allows 4,7 ghz.

Anyone with a good idea what to look at?

  3. So if your where to guess the gain by going from 4790K to a 8700K, what would your guess be?

    Useing same GFX...

BTW, Running alot of VMWare too - but do that on my servers ;)

And yes one drive for OS and one for apps (in my case a total of 3 SSDs and 1 HDD for data).

Mine is a DIY loop if one is looking past my EVGA GFX, wich since my 780 days have been Hydrocoppers.

What Ill base my quess on is, the jump from 980x to 4790K and from 3770 to 4790K.

Which lead me to say 15~18% better framerate and better process time, so lowest FPS will be the thing you lift the most.

  4. Well first think of this:

What it the core load on your GFX now, when running DCS?

Mine 4790/1080Ti is running the 1080Ti at around 60~65% Core load, and no matter what Ill turn on/up for the CPU load wont go higher (65-75%).

If Ill overclock my GPU, the load just go down ! If Ill overclock my CPU the Core Load on the GFX is rising.

So Ill know that a better CPU would give me better FPS, and since a 8700K should be able to give a Core Load on the 1080Ti to 98~99%, and thats a Core load gain of 35%. So lets say half that in FPS.. Now my FPS are at 45~55, then plus 17% and end up in 52~64.

Ill will test this the very same day Ill get a 8700K (maybe this summer)...

    My system is:

    4790K @ 4,8Ghz (up to 5 but not 100% stable), Asus ROG Maimus Formula, 32GB DDR3@2400, EVGA Hydrocopper FTW3 1080Ti, Kingston 512GB M2.2280 NMve. HTC Vive.
