I was having this issue the other day; neither my VKB Gladiator nor my MS Sidewinder FFB was able to trim properly (read: at all) as it would just centre immediately and send me nose into the sky and rear-end first into the ground. Are you perhaps using one of the preset instant action missions when this happens? I think they might be bugged; as nothing was working for me using the "Take off from Beslan" instant action mission or cold start; but I have not been having any issues with the centering in user-made missions online or offline. Don't have time to read the replies so only saw the OP, apologies if this was already said - but double check that the axes are swapped by checking the box in FF Tune on the adjust controls page.

Hi pimp, thanks for your response. I found a solution last night but didn't have time to post it until now. I did find that options.lua file but the problem was it was empty. Not sure how it got wiped. Copied the options.lua from the Open Alpha folder and pasted it into the Open Beta file, and it worked like a charm.

I updated the game (standalone) and it worked fine, no issues. I did not change my settings to VR, nor did I enable the HMD. Then, I restarted my computer, and suddenly the game only wants to open in VR. I have tried the --force disable VR trick found on reddit, however instead of opening the working functioning single Oculus-eye window, it instead opened the game in an 800x600 window and then tried to use SteamVR. The game freezes and stays at a black screen when trying this. Then I tried plugging in the Oculus & sensors and changing the settings from in game, but there is no menu; just in an empty hangar with an F-15. I am also unable to recenter my view. I was once able to disable VR through the config.lua many versions ago, but I cannot for the life of me find that option anywhere anymore. Tried repairing the game using the command prompt; no joy with that, either. The config file in dcs.openalpha shows that VR is set to "false" Solution: If your options.lua file is empty, copy options.lua from an older version (ie. openalpha) to C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS\Config.

Was hoping for a newer, wider array of A/C. However it might be a way to convince friends who don't want to learn the systems join and still fly the same plane as you.

Impressive work. How is this holding up? I was under the impression/told the base and gimbal weren't strong enough to withstand the forces - you find that is not the case with lighter materials? Certainly a project I'd like to try. Thanks for sharing.
